great gateway bag
By Jane, MD in June, 2013

Great bag! I use it for traveling and everyday. I have two in different colors and will order more colors. I solved the outside pocket flap problem by putting velcro buttons under the flap, so it stays closed. Everything else is great about the bag. The tall outside pocket holds water, or a hairbrush, or an umbrella. Love the way the whole bag can be unzipped for extra width, the pen holder, and interior pockets an RFID slots.

Problem bag
By Diane, MD in May, 2013

I took this purse on two trips. At first I thought that I liked it because of the little pockets. I had my camera in the little outside pocket. On the second trip the strap broke where it is attached to the bag and I had to carry it around Heathrow airport under my arm when transferring planes. The metal strip may be strong but the seams are horrible. It also frayed on the second trip on the seams of the outside pocket that snaps. Because of that, I was going to throw it away when got home, but I didn't expect it to break and fall to floor when going from one terminal to another in airport. If the problems were fixed (seams and attached parts), I would really like this purse.
I rate it -- a good idea that doesn't really work.

Wonderful purse
By Dolores, Binghamton, NY in April, 2013

I just returned from two weeks of hiking around Rapa Nui and my purple purse still looks new. It has just the right number of compartments and I felt my things were secure inside it. And, with the expansion feature, I was able to bring many small souvenir moais home with me. It will be my every day purse now. This is my second great Magellan's purse.

Great Purse!
By Cheryl, Welland, ON in March, 2013

I love this little purse!! i have a neck and shoulder problem and have had to downsize. This is now my everyday purse. I got rid of my wallet completely and use the zippered compartment on the front for bills and change. My credit cards are safe in the bigger inside compartment (slots for credit cards) and the pocket beside it gets all of the other cards.... my phone stands up in o the larger pocket in this compartment. I put sunglasses in the water bottle slot when I am not traveling. Organized and light..no problem with the strap which I wear cross-body.

Nice looking bag with uncomfortable strap
By Naomi, MA in February, 2013

I wanted to love this bag. It's a perfect size and has many nice features like RFID blocking credit card slots, locking main compartment and water bottle holder. However, I found that when I wore it across my body, the strap was digging into my shoulder. I think the problem is the narrow metal strip in the strap, which is meant to prevent theft. I found that the entire weight of the bag was essentially resting on that one narrow metal strip and I was constantly shifting the bag around to various parts of my shoulder. After wearing that bag for a grand total of 90 minutes, I am returning it.
