Great Traveling Bag
By Lelia, Chesapeake, VA in August, 2013
Love this bag! I use it on trips to carry my IPad, passport, cell phone, etc. When I travel, I put the entire loaded Touring bag into a small rolling carryon bag that fits under the seat. Then, if I buy stuff on the trip, I remove the Urban Hybrid Touring Bag from the rolling carryon bag, and carry the Touring Bag separately, putting my purchased items in my rolling bag! It is perfect, because each bag is small enough to fit under the seat or in the smallest airline overhead compartments! I have had no problems with either the zippers or the velcro. Great bag!
Doesn't function well
By Antoinette Fisher, Vernon, BC in November, 2012
I had high hopes for this bag. I bought 2, one for my husband and one for myself. So far my husband isn't having any problems with his, but mine just will not stay closed when I get everything in it. On the plane when I tucked it under the seat, the flap kept opening and my glasses fell out and I almost lost them, along with my passport which should have been fine in the small outer pocket and the flap covering them. Once we got off the plane and I secured the items on the inside pockets, I was bumped in the airport, and the flap once again popped open. Not Secure at all. It has some good features, but this is not working for me at all. I need to know my items are secure, unfortunately I will be returning this bag.
Nice idea, but didn't hold up
By Andy B., Scotts Valley, CA in October, 2012
I got this bag for a 2 week round-the-world trip to hold my important docs and tablet I used for reading. It fits everything well and was very useful, but after a week of regular use one of the strap ends started ripping off the bag. The wire cables kept it together and they appeared to run all the way around, but the hanging strap connection just isn't right and certainly not after a week of regular travel use. One side had a very secure connection to the bad. This problem could be fixed easily by putting that same connection on the other side.
Good for everyday use.

I originally bought the bag for a special trip. When I had to cancel the trip due to health reasons, I decided not to waste the purchase and started using it as my regular purse. It's bigger than I normally use, but very versatile. There are pockets, nooks and crannies everywhere. I love it.

Great idea, worked at first. On my first trip the shoulder strap stitching came loose, virtually rendering it impossible to carry. I had to struggle to hold it by the metal hook that was still attached. Surely made me an unhappy camper.
not pleased
By Jo Ann P., Tallahassee, FL in July, 2012
I bought this bag for a trip to Europe. The first day I used it the seam on the front flap totally frayed. The third day the zipper on the front compartment, where credit cards, passports and money should be kept, broke. I then carried the useless bag for 2 weeks so I could return it when I came back to the states. I would not reccomend this bag.
Urban hybrid touring bag

I love this purse. I too experienced the problem of having a zipper separate, and it was to the credit card compartment -- not good. However, Magellans was wonderful about replacing it immediately, and I returned the one with the broken zipper in the bag the new one came in. It is the perfect size for my trip abroad, including camera and Kindle, and is great for every day at home. So far so good with the zippers on the new purse.
What a disappointment.
By Jae L., WV in June, 2012
2 days into my trip, the zipper broke, essentially eliminating what I had purchased the bag for-security. This bag is not as roomy as I thought it would be-if I wanted to put my i-Pad back into the bag, it was almost impossible to do if there were other things in it. Fighting with the bag in the middle of a foreign tourist attraction was not my idea of security. The strap also became twisted and I never could get it right again. I adored my previously purchased VaultPro bags, so this one came as such a disappointment.
Love it!

Using it right now while I'm on a trip.. Now I can carry my iPad in my purse.. Don't have to carry two bags.
Disappointing styling, looks poor
By Anonymous, Montreal, QC in June, 2012
Although the bag is advertised to be secure, it is poorly styled. The Velcro closure is useless. The plastic stop has broken off within days. I understand that the security is not visible. However, styling is. The bag looks cheap and poor.
Good idea, not so great execution

I bought this bag for a trip and am sending it back. Once i put my iPad in it, there was very little room for anything else. I couldn't fit a camera, sunglass case, and small wallet inside. Once the bag was full, the velcro closures didn't work very well and it came open several times. It seems well constructed, but didn't fit my purposes. It is also missing an outside pocket for boarding passes, etc. I also couldn't figure out what the hook under the cover between the velcro strips was for. It didn't make any sense to me If you want this bag to just be a secure place for your iPad and a few other small items, it would be great. If you want it to be the one bag you take for the day, it won't really work.
Great Bag
By Susan K., Wilmington, DE in April, 2012
One star was taken off because I've had problems with the zippers splitting open - especially on the front flap but overall I really like this bag. I bought it so I could carry my IPAD with me and still have room for other essentials. I like the small section where my credit cards and license is kept and the added security with the zipper locks. I would definitely recommend this bag. The only other suggestion towards improvement would be to offer more color choices. All in all I am very satisfied with this bag and would gladly purchase another one.

sensible size, fine quality, light weight, good design compared to your competitors products.biggest fault is the lack of a front flap fastener (that Velcro is useless and positioned badly) and a rear zipped full depth pocket.
Zippers need work on this bag.
By Candace S., Las Vegas, NV in March, 2012
I purchased this $72 bag for a two week trip to Australia. It held a great deal - camera, iPad, iPhone, wallet, and more. Kept everything dry when I got caught in a down pour and liked the adjustability of the strap and the easy of access when wearing as a crossbody bag. The only issue I have with this bag are the zippers. For the cost and because advertised as security against pickpocketers the zippers should never separate - my did constantly on the outside pocket and the inner pocket that holds your wallet and phone. For that reason only giving 3 stars instead of 5.
Great iPad carrier
By Meredith O., Las Cruces, NM in March, 2012
I bought this bag specifically so I could carry my iPad around town, as well as most of the contents of my purse. I love the fact that it is secure, and has room for wallet, phone etc. if traveling, I might want something a little roomier, however.
Disappointed
By Dalma Ruiz D., Saint Simons Island, GA in March, 2012
I was really excited to receive my Urban Hybrid Touring Bag, but the very first time I used it on a trip to New York City, one of the zippers malfunctioned. I spent my entire trip checking the bag to make sure nothing fell out. Also, I did not like that the section for credit cards and other miscellaneous items wasn't very deep. The bag could also use additional velcro to securely close the flap. I'm in the process of requesting a replacement bag since I'd like to give it another try and see if I have better luck.
Touring Bag
By James H. A., Memphis, TN in February, 2012
This was very well designed, practical, and (in many ways) ingenious. It keeps your pockets relatively empty, and frees your hands for other things.
disappointed
By Kathy T., Moreno Valley, CA in February, 2012
I bought this thinking it would be large enough to act as a purse as well as an iPad bag, but once the iPad (in the original Apple case, barely fit) and a set of folding earphones were in there was room for a small camera, glasses, etc. but no zipper pockets for cash or change. Credit card slots were near top of interior pocket and fell out once when bag was inverted with zipper open. Once the bag was fully packed for the flight it was too full to be able to find small items easily, and the exterior flap velcro did not hold well. I missed an exterior pocket for boarding passes, maps, etc. Major disappointment was that the zipper on the front interior pocket did not work well and split open several times. OK for only an iPad and a few other items, but not designed well for a complete travel bag. Not your usual well-designed Magellan product.
hook and loop NO NO
By Carol D., Bohemia, NY in February, 2012
Fabulous bag, miserable hook and loop closing, it catches on everything, ruined some of my clothes, and the lining of the flap. I just returned it for SB440, lets hope there's no hook and loop in that bag, will let you know how I like it
Glad to have it
By Deanna B., San antonio, TX in February, 2012
A little heavy. I hate the big front overflap, it is awkward and in the way. But the bag is of adequate size and protects your I Pad or binoculars, or whatever it is you take along. I like that it has a water bottle pocket, that's why I ordered this particular I Pad purse. I almost sent it back because of that big front flap. I may ask my shoemaker to take that off.
Urban Hybrid Touring Bag
By Sue H., Edmonton, AB in February, 2012
Is a very handy bag, especially for carrying my Kindle or I-pad. When packed up to capacity on a trip though the front flap didn't stay closed very well. It needed more Velcro or some sort of clasp to keep it secure. I will probably do this myself. Overall a good bag.
Almost perfect

I got a MacBook Air for Christmas and couldn't wait to buy this. We cruise a lot and this bag will be just the thing to carry the MacBook, plus so much more. It's attractive and sturdy and has loads of room. The reason I took one star away is that the pocket for the laptop, though deep enough, is made of a silky material. It has no flap or velcro to keep the laptop from sliding out should the bag be overturned in any way. This is a disappointment in an item that is touting security. Yes, the bag is safe from slashers, but the laptop should be safer from simply falling out of its pocket. That being said, the bag is very deep with many pockets, so we plan on making good use of it walking around the ship.
Nice bag
By April J., Seattle, WA in January, 2012
This is a nice bag, but I wish it was a bit bigger in the depth, which is only 3 1/2 inches. If I put in what I usually carry along with my iPad it is just too tight and I am afraid it will put too much pressure on the iPad. I have pared down the number of items I will carry with it, so I can make it work. I like the overall size, which is 11¾ x 10 and the fact that one side of the handle can be disconnected so I can put it around my waist if I choose. I love the safety features. I was disappointed that the teal blue color (this review site won't let me type in the color name that is on the order site as is says it is a blacklisted word, that word is pea****, you know, the beautiful bird with the very colorful feathers) was nothing like it showed online, and is actually more of a green. I am returning the pea**** and getting the black.
urban hybrid touring bag

I bought this as a gift for my husband but wont be giving it until Feb. At first I thought it looked too big but it is probably a good size considering it can accomodate an I-Pad. Without having used it yet, I can say immediately that what is missing is a pocket on the back side. I have a bag that is similar and I dont like that I have to go into the bag every time I want to retrieve a piece of paper or map. I have another bag that does have the outside pocket and I always reach for that one first because of the pocket. The strap is a long enough for cross body use by a man. Some of the bags I have looked at do not extend long enough to be comfortable for a man to use cross body. I think he will like it. I bought from Magellan because I knew that it would be a quality product that I could exchange if it was not to his liking.
Looks great
By Edna C., Victoria, BC in January, 2012
Although I haven't yet had a chance to travel with this multi-purpose bag it appears that there is even more security features than in bags I have purchased from Magellan's in the past. My iPad fits perfectly as well as my iPhone, glasses, wallet, passport and other essentials. I'll be using this bag as a purse on a trip next month and another later this year. Great product, once again.
Best bag I have in a long time

Very well built, super nice padding, reasonable price, can be used in town or hiking, enough room for a thermos of warm drink. I like it so much came back for another one, different color.
Great bag!
By Patricia K., Quarryville, PA in November, 2011
In my job, I can't carry a bag so it is unusual for me to be carrying one. Went to Europe and this bag worked out great for my personal documents and items - and the interior was big enough to put my digital SLR camera when I was done taking pictures. It kept everything safe and was big enough to store brochures. Comfortable to carry. You may want to consider a big outside pocket on the back for maps and stuff that you need to look at regularly - so you don't have to open the bag.
