The TSA 3-Dial Lock and Cable is a lightweight, 2-in-1 defense system that protects your luggage in the air and on the ground. This Travel Sentry® Certified lock, accepted by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), may be opened by airport security personnel using special tools, and then relocked after inspection (unlike regular luggage locks, which may be cut off). Use the lock alone or with the vinyl-coated steel cable that secures luggage to any stationary object in airports, train stations or hotel rooms. By Eagle Creek. Great securty

go on cruises a lot and like the beaches, now when in water or short walk I can secure my backpack to beach chair kind of hard to run with backpack & attached beach chair especially when you want to go & get something cold

Served its purpose

I purchased this cable and lock for a recent trip. We were going to be traveling by train, and I wanted a way to keep my luggage together and relatively secure. I was traveling with several people, and a couple of times we had just a few people watching a lot of bags during travel. Being able to cable several bags together helped our peace of mind. I don't know that the cable would stop someone very intent on taking bags, but it also wouldn't make it easy to walk off with a bag or two while the bag watcher was distracted.

light weight easy to use

I used this on an overnight train in India. I looped it through my bags and around a steel fixture of my bunk. It was easy and quick and unobtrusive. A great deterrent!

Golf Club Security

Here in a golf cart golf community, there have been a series of club thefts from the back of golf carts parked outside resturants, grocery store, etc. I purchased these locks and we now secure the clubs and golf bag to the cart. Keep in mind this only stops the opportunist theif.
