Alex Tilley's hot weather hat is made from an extremely lightweight Supplex nylon with a mesh ventilation band for superior breathability. How To Get The Right Fit:

Measure the circumference of your head, just above your eyebrows. Use a flexible tape measure, or use a piece of string and measure it against a ruler. Refer to the size chart to convert your head measurement to the correct Tilley Hat size.
For those who are certain of their hat size, we recommend you choose one size larger - for example, if you wear a 7 3/4, we suggest 7 7/8.

superb ventilation
By carmen s., CT in April, 2012: This is a great hat for my trip to the bahamas, however anywhere else my head got cold. So five stars for def, but it works so well that anywhere else my head gets cold. Great job Magellan's, another superb product!
The best hat ever.

It does a great job of shading the chrome dome while providing good ventilation, and protection for his face. It also looks great on him. I highly recommend this product.
