Get Familiar with Your Camera
If you're buying new camera equipment, get it well before your trip to learn how it operates.

Protect Your Camera
Be aware that digital cameras are sensitive to water and static electricity. Protect these and other hand-held electronic devices in specially designed bags.
Bring at least one extra camera battery with you. Because you will be using your camera so much more, batteries can drain quickly. Also, cameras may be inadvertently left on or turned on during transit.
