In a pedicab touring a Hutong in Beijing this May.

We were traveling independently but took this day tour.
Highlight of the trip? Walking the Great Wall or seeing the Terracotta warriors. Both were amazing "life list" experiences. Wish we could have traveled this way to learn history in school.
Favorite Meal? My wife is the adventurous eater.
Where to next?
It's a toss up between the Italy/Greece area or Japan. |

Where was this shot taken? Boarding our chartered flight from Ft. Pierce, Florida to Port-au-Prince.
Were you with a tour group or on your own?
Initially we were scheduled with a group, but the earthquake in Haiti required us to scramble individually to get in to the country to help. We regularly work with Lifeline Christian Mission in the medical clinic.
Highlight of the trip? Seeing the gratitude in the faces of the people I had the privilege of caring for, and the hope in their faces as their lives began to be rebuilt.
Where to next? Havanna, Cuba. |

With Overseas Adventure Travel - Ultimate Africa tour.
Highlight of the trip? Up close and personal with the animals. We saw everything but rhino and most were within 50 feet. I shot over 10,000 photos in three weeks.
Favorite meal? Lamb stew, with onions & lots of spices.
Where to next? I'm off to Petra and Egypt with OAT where I'll probably shoot more. Being retired is Great! |

In the Sacred Valley of the Incas in the Andes
of Peru, close to the Inca capital of Cusco and below the ancient sacred city of Machu Picchu.
Highlight of the trip?
Spending the day exploring Machu Picchu.
Favorite meal? Great buffet at a roadside restaurant called Tunupa, I think. The buffet at
Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge was also outstanding and they had a group playing traditional Peruvian music. |

With a friend on a tour we arranged on my own.
Highlight of the trip?
Birdwatching in the national parks of five West African countries. I took some time off though to go sightseeing up the Gambia River to the village Jufureh, made famous by author Alex Haley, where he discovered his "Roots". I even met one of his relatives, as you see in the photo.
Favorite meal? Delicious fresh fish and rice.
Where to next? I'm on my way to Cyprus and Egypt. |

Highlight of the trip?It would be difficult to name just one! We visited
afishing village to the south of Bangkok, the Tiger Temple near the
border
with Burma, the Long Neck Karen tribe north of Chiang Mai,
the
Elephant Conservation Camp in Lampang, and Phang
Nga National Park.
Favorite meal? Soup and seafood served at a private meal in
the fishing village. The fish and seafood were caught from the
waters immediately beneath our stilt house restaurant.
Where to next? Our next trip will probably be a cruise -
location not yet determined. |
