  Terrible
By Andrea B., HI in April, 2012

•   I'm headed to New York this summer and thought this would be the perfect bag to travel with. I ordered it early because I had a quick ski trip planned this winter. I was gone two weeks. By the second day the inside liner had completely ripped out of the bag. You could not zip it because of all the frayed ends. It was terrible. By the 3rd day it was ready for the garbage. It's cute till you use it and it falls apart. If you buy it keep it on your shelf.

significant flaws in otherwise good bag
By Sherri F., WA in March, 2012

•   Positives: attractive bag with sturdy handles and metal clip and rings for securing and locking
Negatives: (which greatly outweigh positives) include very flimsy one-way zipper which after limited use began separating and ceased to work; very lightweight, non-durable interior lining which has already ripped and which won't hold anything without dumping contents into bottom of bag; no shoulder strap and handles are too short to wear over shoulder.
I used for commuting to work and on a couple of international business trips.
All in all absolutely a rip-off for $99.00!!!! Magellans has always been my first choice for quality goods; not anymore!

  Terrific Travel Bag
By Kay S., OH in February, 2012

•   This is definitely my favorite travel bag. Well organized inside and plenty big enough to carry your purse, a coat, neck pillow, snacks, and computer. The outside latches are not only good for security but you can also hook a phone holder to it and then tuck it under the fold over flaps of the bag. It would be good to have a cross body strap or rings near the handle to use for this purpose, but if you do not fold the bag over, then you can attach a strap to the rings to make a hobo bag. It is also perfect for a day bag when you need somewhere to stow your coat and purchases. The outer security strap can be worn around your waist as it is plenty long. The bag rides perfectly on the pull handle of a larger bag for easy transports. The waterproof feature also worked well while of a boat trip where the outside got pretty wet. It dried very quickly while the inside remained perfectly dry. I can also see having the smaller size as an everyday purse. Don't hesitate - buy it!

great carry on for long flight
By Christine M., MN in February, 2012

•   I bought this tote to use as a carry on for a long overseas flight & it held an incredible amount. When I got to the destination I took things out, folded & hooked the sides in and used it in the city for day trips. It was easy and comfortable while providing security.

  Perfect Tote
By Winnie F., CA in January, 2012

•   This was a gift for my daughter. She was thrilled with the light weight, room for everything, and the ability to reduce the size. She travels quite a bit and said it would be wonderful as a carry-on.

Just what we were looking for
By Jennie F., CT in January, 2012

•   This bag is perfect to carry your iPod and everything associated with it with room to spare for more items. It will be a great asset to my husband while walking around the ship and it can be worn across his chest to make it even more secure. Also, has a flap with velcro to hold the iPod from slipping out of its pocket. Something that my bag for my MacBook Air does not.

I wanted to love this bag...
By Laura V., PA in January, 2012

•   ...I really did. It's stylish, holds quite a bit, and the outside is sturdily made, as promised. However, the material used to line the interior is very flimsy; so much so that the inside pockets can hardly bear any weight at all and habitually spilled their contents all over the inside of the bag. Worse, after only five months of day-to-day use, the lining came away from the bag above the zipper compartment resulting in an approximately 8" long tear and rendering the interior pockets even less functional. I travel fairly often, but I used the bag primarily to carry my laptop to and from work, which shouldn't have been overly taxing on it structurally. Definitely not worth $100; I'm extremely disappointed.

I have finally found the perfect purse!
By Karen M., FL in December, 2011

•   This purse has it all! NOT like your normal tote where you have to hunt for everything. It has different size pockets inside to keep things organized. Finally myr iPhone will be where I can find it quickly and love the padded secure place for my Nook Color Tablet. Everything fits and to top it off if you are out at night and need to find something it has a tiny detachable flashlight, what a clever idea! I got this for a trip, but I like others will be carrying it everyday it is just that kind of bag. I got the grey and am going to order another color, hoping they add more colors and a few light colors too! It is awesome!

  Airport Security
By Mary C., CA in December, 2011

•   Bought this both for travel and every day, and appreciate the classy design and padded pocket. Unfortunately, I had a problem with this bag going through airport security. I was delayed probably 20 minutes while the inspectors kept putting the bag through the scanner repeatedly until they finally decided that the problem they were seeing was in the bag itself. Now I'm hesitant to use the bag at all for air travel.

Great look, holds tons, but hard to find items once filled.
By liz m., NC in November, 2011

•   I originally bought the smaller version, and promptly exchanged it for the larger one. I travel overseas several times a year and use a tote for my "personal item" , in which my camera, medicine, books, sunglasses, spare reading glasses and a lot of other items are placed. On the return flight, I put breakables and "treasures bought" on the trip in my tote. I used this tote for the first time two months ago, and while I LOVE the size of the bag, I hate that everything sinks to the bottom of the bag ! There are several different sized compartments built into the sides of the bag in addition to the padded laptop sleeve ( which I use to protect my camera. ) , but even in the compartments items sink to the bottom. This is really bad in the main section, which is very large, and once filled, it is really hard to dig something out without taking half the contents out of the bag.

  Best 'Purse' Award
By Jetta R., MD in October, 2011

•   This is my new "purse" when I fly. Purchased before an international trip to where we'd be exposed to thieves who cut straps and cut open bags, and pickpockets. This large tote safely carried my small laptop, a digital SLR camera, two half-liter water bottles, two books for reading, two folders of trip records, and all manner of smaller things (including my passport), in well-organized, secure pockets. The back strap safely fastened it to my wheeled carry-on. Yes, it was heavy on my shoulder, but I rarely had to carry it, and only for short distances. Well-designed and well-made.

  Love this bag!
By Beverly C., MA in October, 2011

•   I bought this for a 2 week trip to Italy because I wanted the space of a big bag but the peace of mine against pickpockets. This bag is awesome! It was roomier than I expected without being big and bulky and the zipper, fold over to the clasp, top is wonderful. Makes it easy to carry and I know my stuff is not easy for slippery fingers to get to. I'm going to take this on all my trips!!!

  Almost Perfect Tote
By Pamela B., CA in October, 2011

•   I just bought and used this tote (smaller version) while working for a month in 4 countries in Europe. (I also own the Pac Safe MetroSafe 200 which I have used on previous trips.) I bought this tote because of its security features and it is a little more fashionable than the Metrosafe for business purposes. I loved the bag, received many compliments on it (you may have some orders for it as I am a free-lance tour director working with many group tours. I am often questioned about what travel supplies and gadgets I like best.) , but it does have one flaw: it doesn't have a strap that allows you to carry it over one shoulder across your body. This is a major safety feature, and it is better health-wise as you are not carrying so much weight on one shoulder. Because of this, the bag gets heavy quickly. I realize there is a strap in the back pocket for safety to wrap around tables (it is really not practical to use as a safety feature to strap around your waist as advertised - trust me, I tried it), but this strap is not long or strong enough to strap across your body from your shoulder in what is the known safest way to carry a purse or tote. Perhaps since it is a new product, you could add a removable wire-enforced adjustable shoulder strap in the next version? Then it would be a PERFECT safety and fashionable tote!

  One addition would be nice
By David H., IL in September, 2011

•   A small pocket for ID info like a luggage tag would be nice.

  Exactly what I needed
By Leslie H., TX in September, 2011

•   My family recently went to Walt Disney World. This was the perfect tote to carry everything needed with my 5 year old son. I loved the clips to close it quickly and securely.

  Shoulder strap?
By H R., ON in August, 2011

•   This looks like a wonderful bag and I agree the styling is exquisite. I just wish it had a detachable shoulder strap so that you could carry it across your chest to reduce shoulder fatigue. Please consider adding this feature.

  Well thought out
By Marcie M., TX in July, 2011

•   The bag's design is well thought out, i.e., the padded slot for the laptop is vertical, not horizontal, so is easier to handle. The interior's contrasting color minimizes the "bottomless pit" effect (I once had to dump all the contents of a black tote to find a black wallet: not a pretty moment). I also like the strap enabling one to secure the bag to the luggage handle.

  Great tote!
By Sherry D., CO in June, 2011

•   The instant I saw the Safe Passage Tote in the catalog I ordered it. The security features are wonderful but it was the look of the tote that captured my attention. The design is simple, edgy and elegant with plenty of room for work and personal items. My favorite feature is the ability to reconfigure the tote using the fold and clip corners; great for security but also adds another layer of beauty. I love this tote and I use it every day.
