  Great little lock!
By Isis L., NM in July, 2010

•   This little lock is fantastic. It's easy to use, and remembering a word is much easier than a number combination. Great idea! It held up well during my two-week trip to the UK, which involved a lot of traveling (and thus locking and unlocking).

  Good with words
By Irene K., CA in May, 2010

•   These letter combo locks are the first ones I've used because I was always afraid I'd forget numbers. No problem remembering my special word, though! I used the same word for locks on two pieces of luggage. So glad to have this added sense of security.

  Absolutely Great Travel Device
By Eva A., AL in May, 2010

•   The WordLock travel device works beautifully and I was delighted to have purchased this prior to my flight and cruise trip to Alaska. My mother was even able to remember the four (4) letter "word" selected since I had purchased two of these for our trip. Thank you for this solution to remembering a lock combination.

Very useful four (4) letter word locking device!

•   Thanks for offering a solution to remembering how to open a lock by simply selecting a four letter word with this lock combination.

  Alpha lock
By Johanna B., CA in April, 2010

•   We bought these locks for our trip to China. We've never locked our luggage before but we were told it was a good idea for this trip. Unfortunately, some bad guys wanted into my husband's suitcase so badly they actually ripped the zipper closure completely off the suitcase with the lock still attached and stole his camera. I'm sure the lock held even then! Great product--I bought a new one after fixing the suitcase.

  Lock - A Four-Letter Word
By Michael H., NJ in September, 2009

•   Sometimes words are easier to remember than numbers--this lock is one of those times. Even though there is a limit on the number of choices, I found enough from which to choose. I use this lock to secure my laptop compartment of my travel bag.

Invented by aging boomers for aging boomers
By Gayle G., CA in July, 2009

•   What could be more perfect than a lock whose combination is letters instead of numbers? It's just easier to remember ~ whether you're an aging baby boomer or someone drowning in number combinations which are ubiquitous in modern life. The lock is very sturdy and survived two TSA inspections, coming back to me safe and secured at baggage claim.

The TSA will still cut these locks
By Tracey T., CA in June, 2009

•   Just purchased 2 of these a month or so ago. After a 6/13/09 trip from Orange County to Portland, we're down to one lock. We checked 2 identical bags, each locked with one of these locks. One survived, the other was cut off the bag, damaging the zipper enough so the bag will require repair on our return. TSA agents will destroy even TSA locks if they're impatient or in a bad mood. So buy the locks, but buy enough to have replacement after TSA destroys them.

  luggage word locks
By carol r., TX in March, 2009

•   I was hoping these were like the padlock I had purchased for my gate. It had changeable wheels and allowed me to use my grandkids initials for a code. But these have fixed letters thus I could not use my favorite. But I still feel they are safer than other locks.l

  A Satisfied WordLock Owner
By Elizabeth C., TN in January, 2009

•   I am simply THRILLED with this new WordLock from Magellan's!!!!! It is small, doesn't weigh much at all, fits my luggage soooo easily and is TSA Approved. and I am very completely satisfied with Magellan's service. The WordLock reached me before expected date, and in A-1 condition, complete with instructions and having never been opened. The instructions are sooo very easy to read and understand, as well. I will definately buy from Magellan's again.

Good lock - don't use international
By C W., UT in December, 2008

•   We bought these and used them for the first time on a trip to Guatamala. The locks are easy to use and work well. The only problem was in Guatamala. If they do an inspection of your luggage they cut the lock off, and do so by cutting the rings on your luggage making it impossible to use any type of locking system again; and they don't return your locks. If I were to buy these again I would only use them in the U.S., and I would use plastic locking ties for international travel.

•   Used the product while on vacation. The instructions are very good and take you through each set to set up a lock combination. Glad I purchased the word locks.

•   I bought two of these locks in platinum color, for my carry on bags. : ) My check in bags are hard sided without zippers, etc.
Only problem is that I can't use my own four letter word (1st name or city i.e., Maui or Vail) for the combination. : (
They are great for locking up carry on bags while on a plane; when bags are in storage at the hotel or even in the hotel room while I'm out of the room.
Something better than nothing : ) : )
