Just returned from domestic and international trip with different airlines and customs. Highly recommend this Liquid/Gel set. Had this and another make for my husband, and the other make leaked, but this one did not. Also like size of containers. I did not have the experience of couple of others on labeling of bottles since the size of the container seemed the most important, but I highly support the opinion requesting you add the 3 oz. label.
Putting the size on wouldn't solve the problem we had. The TSA person at LAX threw out all but 2 (?) of our bottles because they were manufacturers. Never mind that they had just gone out thru LAX 2 weeks before and on several other flights! Her comment was "I can tell this is mouthwash, but it's not in a Scope/whatever bottle." Maddening!
I used one of these containers for the first time and liquid slowly leaked out of the bottom. Fortunately, I had placed the container in a ziploc bag so the liquid did not damage my luggage. I have never had any problem with the Nalgene containers from this site. I use the Nalgene products for my checked luggage but would also use them for for carry-on if they were available in 3-oz labeled containers.
If you get to the wrong TSA location (I.E. DFW), they won't accept ANY containers if they aren't manufacturer labeled with the ounce limit. I got my stuff tossed out at one airport because the bottles weren't labeled 3OZ.
In June 2007 I went through security at McCarran Intl. Airport in Las Vegas, and they said they would let me slide THIS time, but the bottles are supposed to be labeled 3 oz or less and with brand names and the number of ounces printed on the label.
As an every-week traveler, I was going to list these as a gift suggestion for my children; however, we just experienced the same problem as another commenter with the Neoprene set. The TSA rep stated that because the bottle did not have the size imprinted by the manufacturer, the bottle could not be carried on so we had to throw it out. Consequently, no point in getting these bottles. Would love to see this set have a max fluid capacity imprinted on them!
Last November at JFK, the TSA took away all of my make-up I had transferred to these containers. They said they had to be in the original container. This means that I can pack anything (explosive?) into a original container and it will pass.
