  Great day pack!
By Sarah W., CA in August, 2010

•   This is a great backpack to take along on a trip. It's a great day pack, and packs well, as it doesn't take up much room, or add any weight. Is also very strong for it's size. The water bottle pocket is also a nice addition.

  Awesome Backpack
By Jan T., TX in August, 2010

•   Used this daily on a 2 week vacation in Hawaii and loved it. Packs up small in the suitcase and was just the right size for sightseeing. Held all my stuff (including a digital 35mm camera) -- and was comfortable to carry.

  Great Backpack
By cathy m., CA in August, 2010

•   Great backpack. Folds up nice and small and doesn't take up much room. Holds alot when you use it. Very convenient.

  Served its purpose well
By Chuck H., KY in August, 2010

•   We wanted a backpack that would take up as little space as possible due to airline baggage restrictions in Europe. During our trip, it had enough space for all the items we needed in going out for the day in Ireland and Scotland, but still folded up to be very tiny to go into our carry-on luggage for flights. It certainly is not as heavy duty as lots of other backpacks, but that's the compromise.

  Great day pack!
By Donna G., BC in August, 2010

•   Used for day trips in Italy and found that everything I needed fit and it was just the right size for getting on and off trains and buses. Seems durable. Also love how compact it is when folded into its pouch.

  Lightweight, comfortable and spacious!
By G E., CO in August, 2010

•   The Packable Daypack has worked out perfect for those times when you need to carry a few extra items with you. However the pack could use a 2nd mesh pocket on the opposite side and a 2nd smaller outside pocket to use the space above the current outside pocket.

  nice backpack

•   fits my needs...light

  Great Backpack
By Susan C., TN in July, 2010

•   This backpack is great for anyone who needs something that is light. I have back problems and needed something light to take on a mission trip to Jamaica. It was perfect! Loved the water bottle holder on the side, it was very convenient for the hot weather in Montego Bay.

  packable backpack
By Adrianne M., PA in July, 2010

•   I love the backpack. It folds out to a good size backpack but yet fits in my purse. It will be great to have when I travel through Europe.

  Handy!
By Karen B., CA in July, 2010

•   Light-weight, sturdy; has handy storage bag; a little larger than expected for my needs, being a small person.

  A space saving Gem
By Robert C., NB in May, 2010

•   My wife and I spent the winter in Portugal and this med size back pack with its own storage pouch proved invaluable. We used it 3 times a week for 3 months with no noticable wear. WE always packed it full with groceries, including heavy cans and six paks of beer. Its small packing size was perfect for travel.

  Great Packable Backpack
By Sylvia W., WA in May, 2010

•   Great backpack! Sturdy, roomy, easty to clean and has outside compartment & bottle holder yet it takes almost no room in your suitcase. Took it to Grand Canyon - it held my walking stool, folding cane, books, snacks and had plenty of room for more. I would highly recommend this backpack for any and all travelers.

  The perfect backpack for travel
By Patricia H., IL in May, 2010

•   When I ordered this backpack I had my doubts. When it arrived a few days later all doubts were gone. The quality was better then I anticipated and it folds up so nice I can carry it in a small purse or jacket pocket if I really need too. Magellan's is now my first stop for travel needs. I told family members and they have ordered the backpack and now they have Magellan's on their go to list...for travel items you can count on, and for quality and delivery every time.

  Love these backpacks!
By Judy M., IL in May, 2010

•   I first bought the backpack as a daypack for a tour through Norway. At home I found they were great for day hiking too. I even use them for shopping trips. They're lightweight and hold everything I need. Love the side pocket for water. I've purchased them for gifts and when I misplaced one, I immediately bought another.

  Terrifically Convenient
By Angela J., ON in May, 2010

•   I bought two of these (one for me, one for the husband) to carry with us on holidays, but I've taken to keeping it in my purse. It is terrifically convenient for shopping on my lunch hour and packs up small enough to not get in the way. Love it.

  Backpack - a winner!
By Ruth B., WA in May, 2010

•   I was looking for a backpack that was just large enough to hold my daytime essentials, an SLR camera, wallet, waterbottle and small change purse. This is almost perfect. The padding on the strips could be thicker and I am going to add a chest strap, but the size is perfect. The bag comes with a case which can be used for any small items. I'm really pleased with it.

  Great for day hikes
By Marte B., CA in May, 2010

•   This is a lovely little backpack and easily holds everything I need for long walks. It's comfortable to wear and very lightweight. The only criticism I have of it is that, being nylon, it makes my back sweat after a while. I don't think there is anything that could be done about that except perhaps to give the back a layer of flannel.

  Best yet day pack
By Nancy H., CA in March, 2010

•   I love this day pack. It is good looking, the straps are designed so they don't flap around, the silhouette is smooth, it is light weight and it is comfortable to wear. I had been looking for a day pack with backpack straps for comfort, but that didn't look like I was a hiker spending a day sight seeing. I am very happy with this backpack and take it on all my trips; domestic and international. Double zippers can be locked to the side clip.

  lightweight
By Andrena B., FL in February, 2010

•   I took this backpack to Italy last May. The top of the backpack ripped at the seam and I had to sew it. I do love the lightweight aspect of this BP so I ordered another one to take on a trip to Germany in the fall. I like the water bottle holder and it is just the right size for a day trip.

  The best
By Esther B., CA in January, 2010

•   I love it, used it all over So. Africa, here in the U.S. it is lightweight, so much room, great at the airport, room for your water bottle. Just love it and the price is so reasonable. I love everything at Magellans and yes, I bought so much there.

  Indespensable
By Joan Z., CO in January, 2010

•   This is my favorite backpack for day trips when traveling. I pack it in my suitcase (without its pouch) on EVERY TRIP in less space than a shirt. It holds all items I will need for a day out and is extremely light weight, but sturdy. My black one does not show dirt, and is discreet.

  Just Right
By Elizabeth F., TN in January, 2010

•   Had a similar backapck but made of flimsy nylon so it fell apart. This one is durable, I like the tiny bit of padding, strap width is good, and the size is good. Great for day trips when traveling and my husband uses it for errand running or a quick grocery run on his motorcycle.

  Perfect in your carry on
By Inge S., CA in September, 2009

•   This is a perfect addition to my carry on luggage! Just pull it out after your unexpected shopping spree at the airport and you are ready to go!Sturdy and comfortable on my back.

  good quality
By Lorraine D., SC in August, 2009

•   We bought this to pack our souvenirs in- very easy to throw in a suitcase and instantly you have an extra bag- convenient! Packs really tiny, yet very roomy!

Can take this anywhere, lightweight and great!
By Marilyn M., CA in March, 2009

•   I have used this backpack for short hikes in Australia and it's great. Lightweight so it doesn't seem like a burden to carry, and holds a lot! I also use it for local weekend getaways and to attend the grandkids' football and baseball games. It will go to Alaska with me in a few months. I'm getting another one for my travel mate. Would recommend this highly.

  Water/Weight /Distribution
By Peggy B., TX in March, 2009

•   I would use this product more with wider straps to distribute weight. As is, doesn't work with any heavy items(field guides/food). I would pay a couple of bucks more for 2 water bottle net sleeves
Love packability

  Ripped at the seems
By Deb T., MA in December, 2008

•   I bought this for a trip I took back in July. I used it the day I left and by the next day the bag had ripped at the seams. It was really coming apart. I had to go somewhere else to get something to use as I had planning on using this for my 10 day vacation. I called when I got back and they sent me a return envelope, had no problem returning it but I would not recommend it as the seams don't seem to hold up very well.

  great for day trips
By Peggy P., NM in November, 2008

•   I carry this in my bigger bag and then am ready to leave it behind for smaller day trips. Love the water bottle holder.

Only one thing missing, and you just added it!
By Sylvia K., NY

•   I love this pack. It can hold everything I've ever needed to put in it. It's so light as to be of inconsequential weight and looks as good as the day I bought it, several years ago. I take it on walks around the block and trips around the world. I'm buying another one now because I've wished mine had two zippers, and now you've added the second.

By Anonymous in October, 2008
•   Turned out to be just the thing for several applications: as a carry-on bag (I hung it from my rolling suitcase by the loop until I checked my suitcase, then carried it around as a backpack); used as day pack when my purse was not sufficient. Straps were surprisingly comfortable given the minimal construction. Used it in addition to my purse for shipping.

By Sherry E., TX in September, 2008
•   It is small and packable. It seems to be very strong. I am looking forward to using it.

By Suzanne M., TX in September, 2008
•   Great light weight bag. Took it to Dalmatian coast trip and ended up using it constantly. My purse fit in it traveling home. Nice small coin bag included. I would love it in more colors but thinking about getting another. Straps could be shorter. Nice for water bottle. You can't go wrong with this handy backpack in your suitcase!

By Ellie B., CA in September, 2008
•   I bought the packable backpack to take on a trip. My husband bought one last year for our trip to Machu Picchu and the Galapagos, and found it very handy for day touring. It's big enough to hold a rain jacket and camera and other daily necessities. I decided I needed one for our upcoming trip to Egypt.

By Richard S., FL in September, 2008
•   I love this bag, however I have had two of them. Both have come apart at the seams. If and when the manufacture gets it right i will buy another.

By Anonymous in September, 2008
•   Was a great purchase. It holds everything and weighs nothing. My husband carried it everywhere and barely noticed he had it.

By Anonymous in September, 2008
•   Haven't actually used it yet, but the size and weight are perfect to go light weight overseas for my day tours.

By Lynne R., AZ in August, 2008
•   I really like the back pack. I took it to Montana with me and it was so handy! Then I could just pack in flat in the suitcase when ready to fly home.

By Anonymous in August, 2008
•   My first backpack ripped at the seams for the lower zipper and the top of the full zipper on a cruise to Alaska. It was replaced very quickly and I didn't have to pay the return postage. This is a great company to deal with but unfortunately my second backpack also ripped on a trip to the DCI championships in Indiana. In both cases I did not have the backpack overloaded. It may just be a manufacturing flaw but I enjoyed the light feeling of it even after the rips.

By Anonymous in August, 2008
•   Have had black one for years and loved it. Bought brick color and it ripped after a month. It was never overpacked. Eagle Creek resewed it in a sloppy manner and sent it back. Said they will send new one since I complained and waiting to get it.

By Carol T., MA in June, 2008
•   I was so excited to come across the packable backpack in your catalogue! I purchased a similar one from another manufacturer many years ago and it's like an old, worn-out teddy bear it's gotten so much use. That manufacturer no longer makes this item, much to my surprise. I am so pleased that you have made this available! Thank you very much.

By Anonymous in June, 2008
•   I just returned from a walking/hiking tour in Italy and found this backpack very convenient and comfortable. My one comment for improving it would be to add an additional side pocket so there would be pockets on each side. This would provide balance. When carrying a full water bottle, the pack would then be more comfortable.

By Anonymous
•   I bought this backpack several months ago and like it very much. The *only* problem was that it didn't have a double zipper. Now it seems you have rectified that problem! I wish I could exchange it - but may just have to make do with your old one or buy a new one and give away the old one to someone else. A new customer on this product won't have to worry.

•   It's amazing how this little bag holds so much! It's wonderful to take as a carry-on bag as well as a daytripping pack when you finally want to explore--and the water bottle holder is very handy. I'm really happy I found this bag!

•   I took this backpack with me to the Outback in Australia. I hiked with it and found it very comfortable and extremely lightweight. It held so much stuff! And the water bottle holder on the side was very convenient. The weather was warm, but the backpack was made of a material that didn't overheat me. I am a senior citizen, and was worried it would be uncomfortable, but was very pleasantly surprised! I would recommend this to anyone needing a lightweight daypack. It folds up so small and fits neatly into its own zippered carry case.
