•   This scale is an improved model of an original scale I had. I works as advertised. The improvement is that the scale remains at the weight scaled (?) unlike the old one which went back to zero when relieved of weight. That's helpful when trying to establish the exact weight without some one else reading the scale. Of course you have to have the strength to lift the luggage with the scale. But very helpful.

•   While you can weigh your baggage before you leave home for the airport, you are at a loss when packing to return home from the resort. With extra baggage fees increasing daily, this can pay for itself with its first use. You have to be able to pick up 50 pounds or so for a full suitcase. The dial records the weight so you can see it after you set down the case. I would advise to leave a few pounds leaway as we were a few pounds over at the airport, and it seemed right on by using the scale.

Two were fine but the third had only a 19 inch tape measure even though the sticker says 39 inches. 19 inches is not that useful for measuring carry-ons!

This weight only matters when you check in your luggage (ie: if you check in 70lb in Italy, you won't get charged extra by the domestic carrier from JFK to ATL).
