Great seat cushion
By Linda S., CA
in August, 2010
After enduring a 5 hour flight that caused my tailbone much pain, I knew I had to do something for an 11 hour flight. This pillow was wonderful. I could deflate it some and fold it in half to fit in my tote bag when not in use. It would inflate again in seconds.

Self-Inflating Cushion Is Great!
By David W., CA
in August, 2010
The cushion is great. It self inflated quickly and seems to be sturdy enough to hold up for a good while. Time will tell. The air filled seat cushion works better than the foam type. I am pleased with the purchase.

Nice sit
By Dona B., GU
in August, 2010
This pillow really takes the pressure off of sitting for long periods of time. Inflates quickly and easily. Deflates equally as easy into a fairly small package.

Worked well on road trip
By JoAnne A., AZ
in July, 2010
I didn't need it on a airplane trip (I got lucky on seats), but it was very helpful and comfortable in the rental car I used to drive from Ohio to Virginia. I am able to roll it so that it fits in the elastic band that came with it.

Necessity for long flights
By Anonymous
in July, 2010
I love this pillow! It has enabled me to sit comfortably on long flights- no more tailbone pain. Forget cheaper inflatable pillows... This product is worth every penny. Only disadvantages are its size when deflated and unattached rubber bands.

Wonderful Product
By Anna M., IL
in May, 2010
I use it all the time when I travel. It eliminates the stress off my back while sitting. I have even bought this for other family members who have back issues. It is compact and easy to travel with also.

Saved my butt!
By Jon L., IL
in May, 2010
We purchased these pillows right before we took a jet to NM. I've had problems with the seats on jets for about a year, so we took a chance and ordered this product. It didn't self inflate but after a few puffs of air it was well inflated. The cut for the spine really helped take the pressure off my back. I would recommend this product.

Pain Relief for Tailbone
By Bethe M., FL
in May, 2010
I have a very sensitive tailbone area -- had surgery for a cyst as a teenager. I travel often on long-haul flights (8 hours plus) to South America and this product has reduced the pain in my tailbone dramatically. It is a little strange at first (I understand the reviewer who felt it was balloon-like) and it does self-inflate when rolled up, thus taking up space in the carry on, but these disadvantages are minor when balanced against the ability to sleep and arrive pain free.

Great Comfort for Long Flights
By Ellen J., IL
in March, 2010
Although skeptical, I bought this cushion based on the positive customer reviews. What a great, easy-to-use product. Just open the valve and it automatically inflates. Sit on it with the valve open to release some of the air. Easy!
We fly from Chicago to Hawaii every year (8+ hours). I've never been able to sleep more than 1 hour on the plane. I'm always fidgeting because my tailbone and back are killing me. This year, I slept 7 hours straight without any discomfort at all.

Not what I expected
By Dave H., OR
in March, 2010
Unfortunately this item did not live up to my expectations. Because of how it inflates, and due to the width of the leg cushions, it feels like you are sitting on 2 balloons rather than a single cushion. It would have possibly been much better had the leg cushions been a little wider and not inflated like a pair of balloons. Letting a little air out helped but it was still uncomfortable enough that it really isn't suitable for extended use.

Add to your comfort on long flights
By Traci S., CA
in January, 2010
I just returned from a trip where I used this cushion for the first time. My two longer flights (6 and 3.5 hours) were much more comfortable than I've experienced before. The cushion's design, keeping the tailbone suspended, makes a huge difference. The position of the valve makes it easy to adjust the air in the cushion as the pressure changes on the plane.

Very comfortable and adjustable
By Carlton M., TX
in January, 2010
I love this cushion. I use it in the car too. It's great because you can easily change the amount of air while sitting on it. The only complaint is that it self inflates every night even though the valve is closed so it doesn't hold my ideal setting. I think this might be a defect, but Magellans hasn't answered my e-mail.
Anyway, it's highly recommended.

a spine saver
By Joan S., NJ
in December, 2009
After a recent accident, every bump on the road vibrated through my spine, making traveling unpleasant at best. The cushion has certainly changed that, allowing me to travel freely and comfortably.

What a difference this seat cushion makes on long flights. It helps being ajustable as you get tired of the same position after awhile. No more hard airplane seats for me! As recommended by another purchaser, I bought the Pack-it Tube Cube to carry the cushion in when deflatted. Slick!

Great product and better warenty
By Frank J., MI
in October, 2009
I have 2 of these cushions. I use them each and every day. They both developed slow leaks. I wrote the company and they send prepaid mail label and exchanged them for 2 new cushions. The best of both worlds. It's hard to find a company that stands behind their product like this. If you need a cushion, this is the one to buy.

Works great but leaks
By Frank J., MI

I have two of these seats. I love them, they are great, but they both developed slow leaks in less then a year. They lose air after about two hour of use..I have to re-inflate them constantly.

Self-INflating Seat Cushion
By Linda G., DE
in August, 2009
I travel a lot, and my lower back was so fatigued after many hours sitting on a plane. But not any more. This cushion really does what it says it will do! It is really easy to use, it does not take up much room, and it inflates and deflates very easily. Most importantly, I have had no more lower back pain. This is the perfect travel cushion for me. Thanks, Magellan!

Great results

Wife suffers with a serious back problem. She used this and the back cushion for the first time on a flight from the States to London with no discomfort. ( Unfortunately the seat cushion was left on the bus from the airport to the hotel and never was recovered.) She continues to use the back cushion and it helps greatly in easing any potential pain.

What a relief
By Susan A., CA
in July, 2009
to have this on a trip. Bought mine a few years ago and never fly without it. And the once or twice I've forgotten it, I've been very sorry. I also bought an Eagle Creek Pack it Tube Cube which the cushion rolls up nicely and fits into. Then I clip it to the outside of my carry-on to not waste bag space.

I wouldn't get on a plane without one!
By Pamela R., VA
in July, 2009
This really makes a difference in long flights where spinal pain becomes a big factor. I use in conjunction with a lumbar support. It is wonderfully adjustable and packs easily in a backpack or carryon. Only negative is the value deteriorates if you use it constantly. It's not suitable for long term, everyday use but for travel its essential.

loved this product
By Debra L., MD
in June, 2009
The self-inflating seat was a very helpful on a recent trip abroad. I have an old injury that makes it very painful to sit on hard surfaces. I carried the cushion rolled up in either my day-pack or a roomy handbag, and used it in cafes, restaurants, and even in a nightclub. I could enjoy myself and never had to worry about whether I'd have a comfortable seat.

Not great for the plane but good for hard seats elsewhere
By M. Lea M., AB
in June, 2009
Not enough room on an airplane seat for this to work well - not the cushion's fault! the BA upgraded world traveller plus seat was too shallow to accommodate the cushion and even with just a little air in it, I sat too high to use the chairback as intended. It DID work excellently for lengthy sitting on hard chairs in the gites (rental accommodations) we rented in France and I was very glad for that!

Perfect for long-haul flights
By Catherine S., HI
in May, 2009
This was a Godsend for my Honolulu-Taipei-Bangkok-Nairobi-Malawi flight and back!!! I'm never traveling without it again! Packs easily. Only tiny problem is that the elastic rings used to keep it rolled up aren't attached to it, so they soon got lost.

in April, 2009
I used the sef-inflating cushion on the plane and I was very comfortable for five and a half hours. The self-inflatiing feature is a great improvement and the cushion softness is unbelievably relaxing at home or while traveling. It is the best thing on the market.

sittin comfy
By kay s., TN
in April, 2009
I haven't used the cushion as yet, except to blow it up once and test it out. It is comfy, and looks sturdy. It was easy to blow up and the valve seems to be strong. It is harder to get the air out and the size back down for stowing. With limited space something else might have to be left out . I think it will be very well used in a jeep on a bumpy road in the middle of Africa.

Makes sitting in economy much more comfortable

A great idea for long flights in economy. The level of inflation is easily adjusted, and the extra cushioning is well worth the space in you carry-on. Billy of BillyKnowsBest.com

pretty comfy seat to reduce nerve pain and leg cramps
By robert p., OH
in February, 2009
This is a pretty light seat cushion and just what I was looking for to help reduce leg cramping and nerve pain and/or numbing I get on long flights in hard coach seats. It works well and can be rolled up and stashed in a small carry-on. The seat self-inflates in seconds and can be adjusted by letting air out to get the right cushion effect. The cushion has some foam inside so it cushions with foam & air so that one doesn't feel like a hard balloon. Also purchased the matching lumbar back pillow

Can't do without it!
By Patricia C., NJ
in January, 2009
For someone with back problems, who can't sit for an hour without extreme pain, this cushion allows me to sit in a plane for hours with no problems. I can fold the deflated cushion, put it in my carry-on and take it everywhere! It is my second one, which I got after wearing out the first one(it took years), and goes everywhere with me. It is my magic cushion.

Worked great!

in January, 2009
I have problems with my tailbone because of years of figure skating. This cushion was key to my comfort on the long flights to and from Africa. It doesn't seem like that much of a cushion, but just a little bump up with the cutout in the back makes such a difference.

Worth it for long flights
By Anonymous
in January, 2009
The first time I sat on this pillow, I wasn't sure I was going to be able to tolerate it. In fact, after an hour or so, I removed it, with the thought that it was worse than the plane cushion alone. But, once back to the plane cushion alone for no more than 1/2 hour, I knew I was wrong. From then on, any flight longer than a few hours, I use the inflating cushion. A bit bulky to carry deflated, but worth it for long flights.

Wish it were smooth, not suede-like
By Sharon N., DC
in December, 2008
I have a cushion something like this but without the notch (which I don't need). I wish this one were smooth. I think the microsuede finish makes it difficult to slide across. I see no benefit to that finish. However, the ability to self-inflate is fabulous!!

self-inflating coccyx cushion
By Anonymous
in December, 2008
Excellent product to make travel more comfortable for anyone needing a coccyx cushion to relieve pressure on the lower part of their spine. It inflates itself, can be deflated to the desired thickness, and rolls up to fit in carry-on luggage. (The only downside is that it is easy to forget and leave behind in the airport, etc. I have had to replace mine.)

Fabulous
By Patricia, CA
in November, 2008
Just returned from a trip cross country, plus a 6+ hr. car ride a few days later. This cushion was a life saver--or rather a bone saver. Arthritis in my hips has made it very uncomfortable and often painful to sit in a plane or car seat for extended periods. Bought it for up coming trip to Europe, but decided to try it out since it arrived before I left. Will not travel without it again. It is well worth the $50 cost which I agonized over before ordering as I have limited income.

My husband was sceptical but we used both on long flights to Africa and on all day game drives. Worked great for relieving pressure on coccyx. He was happy I purchased them. In fact, I'm sitting on one right now as I'm at dining room table on hard wood chair . Whenever I get up, one of the cats jump up and gets comfortable on it. Spending so many hours sitting on airplanes and cars, really makes your back end sore. But this cushion is a lifesaver! I love the conveniece of rolling it up to carry it anywhere when I'm not using it. I even use it in my car on long trips. I make less trips to the chiropractor by using this cushion.

This cushion is fantastic! It is comfortable for my injured tailbone and sensitive pelvic bones, the cutout is just right, it's lightweight and portable, and it conforms easily to any kind of seat. Far superior even to the foam cushion I had custom made. Thank you Magellan's!!

I bought this cushion to relieve the pressure on my coccyx during long flights. Airplane seats bring back the pain of an old injury! When I received it, I decided to test it in my car and have found it to be a most comfortable seat! During a long drive, it provided a great relief and I look forward to using it during a flight.

Like many people, I have lower back problems. I just returned from a trip to Bulgaria on a piano workshop. I took one of these cushions with me - it was invaluable! Sitting at a piano for 4+ hours a day on different (usually hard) benches and chairs can cause considerable discomfort - but not this time! the cushion is very easy to inflate and deflate, very comfortable and my back discomfort was almost non-existent. I'd highly recommend it! Everyone who tried it loved it!

Didn't like it at all. Didn't seem to give much support. Returned it and bought the G-Seat Light gel seat cushion (item IF456)
By Kathleen H., IL
This is the seat cushion that makes long car trips possible. It has saved my back on more than one trip! It turns a bucket seat into a comfy seat. The self-inflating feature makes it infinitely adjustable.
By Steven W., FL
My cushion worked great until the air value no longer works.

This self-inflating seat cushion is comfortable for me because I am short & it brings me up to a normal level in the seat. The only disadvantage is that it does not fully de-flate & thus takes up more packing space than I would like.
By Anonymous
I've tried several seat cushions and this one is the best one on the market! Because it's self-inflating, I can adjust it so that it's always comfortable as my needs change. It rolls up and fits nicely in my carry-on. I wouldn't be without it on any flight. I also use the folding foot stool. (IF477) Great as a pair! I highly recommend.

I've used this seat on several long international flights and it is wonderful. You can get a perfect fit by releasing the amount of air so it feels perfect for your body weight. It deflates and rolls up easily for storage. I've had no problems on six flights- I recommend it highly.

There is an excellent review of this product on page 96 in the April 'o7 issue of Conde Nast Traveler.

I use the self-inflating seat cushion constantly. It is a relief to my lower back pain. The softness is adjustable and I think that is what helps for comfort.

I purchased this @two years ago, and although it is very comfortable, I used it a total of 8 or 9 times, on tour buses and trans-Pacific flights, and it developed a leak, which cannot be repaired.

It works great, but I haven't even had it a year and it leaks. Rather expensive for just a year. The donut shaped seat that used to be in the catalogue lasted a lot longer.
