Related Travel Tip:
- Avoid DVT
Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) is a condition in which blood clots form in the legs due to poor circulation, and sitting for long periods in cramped spaces increases the risk. Iimprove circulation in flight with periodic stretching, walking, and use of compression socks.
- Move About
Flying is tough on your body so get up and move around often to increase cirulation and decrease stiffness.

Work very well.

Activewear Compression Socks
By Joe B., NJ

These socks are very costly. I have had a problem with the toe getting holes in them (every pair I bought). However the compression is good and I wear these socks about 16-18 hrs per day. A very good sock if you need good compression except for the cost and sewing the holes in the toes.

Wonderful socks

I recently returned from a trip overseas with over 12 hours of sitting on a plane both ways. I have had a blood clot eight years ago so was worried about having to sit for a long period of time. These socks were just great - felt good on and no swelling. I would recommend them to anyone who has problems with their legs or anyone sitting or standing a long time. Great product!

Great socks after ankle surgery!

I wanted compression socks after ankle surgery in order to keep the swelling down. These socks were great - much more comfortable for walking than the nylon spandex ones. Now that the ankle has healed, I continue to use the socks for long walks and hikes.

Best we have tried!

These sox were great. My husband and I each brought a pair on a recent trip overseas. We had several long flights - over 8 hours - and we wore these sox on every flight. On our last flight, my feet and legs hurt before we even boarded our flight. As soon as I was seated, I put on my sox and my legs felt better immediately. Other brands I have tried in the past have begun to feel too tight after several hours of wear, but these were comfortable for back-to-back 8 to 9 hour flights!

THESE CONPRESSION SOCKS WERE GREAT FOR BEING ON MY FEET ON CONCRETE ALL DAY LONG ON A RECENT MEDICAL MISSION TRIP TO PERU. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

Great product . . .

Unlike the writer above who was disappointed in this item, I was looking for a "sock-weight" product for traveling. They are absolutely wonderful and perfect to use as a sock . . . with shoes that you normally would wear a sock, such as tennis shoes, walking shoes, hiking boots, etc. and you want the compression/DVT preventative this offers. They are thicker that the others offered, but that is what I needed. I also have the lighter weight compression stocking-sock for use with other types of shoes. These socks were much more comfortable for long flights . . . and very easy to slip off when ready to de-plane (I just put them in a ziploc bag and put in my carry-on) and then put on my sandals. They are perfect for use with walking shoes. (I use them when wearing long pants for a busy day of sightseeing) when not wearing shorts or skirts. I highly recommend them. But, I do understand the previous writer's disappointment when she was expecting a thinner compression hose.

Feet felt great

They worked wonders. I usually experience swelling in my feet and legs even on short flights. This time, my feet did not swell at all and I could put my shoes back on after a 16 hour flight without any problems.

Socks That Put a Spring in Your Step

I bought two pairs for our recent trip to Europe with students. I thought they would help with ankle swelling on the long flight. They not only prevented the swelling, they were wonderful to wear on the days of walking around Rome and climbing the steep hills of Greece! I love them so much I am wearing them to school where they help my legs feel better when I am standing and walking on concrete floors all day. They give me more energy and prevent my leg pain at the end of the day.

Not what I expected

The socks look nice and thin in the picture when, in fact they were so thick that my shoes did not fit...very disapointed.

Simply the best

My husband is mid-fifties, diabetic, and must fly weekly. I bought the first pair of Activewear Compression Socks as a sort of extravagant treat---something I knew he wouldn't buy for himself. He absolutely raved about them and I found myself buying three more pair, and I'm sure there will be more purchases in the future. All I can say is that I have three children in college and a grandchild on the way. It has to be a great sock for me to be willing to pay 17 dollars---each sock--for it.

More Than Just For Travel

I bought some compression socks for a recent China adventure because of the long flights and long days of walking. When I returned home I continued wearing them for hikes with the dog and at other times I'm going to be on my feet for hours. They're great. I've just ordered more.

Socks worked!

We have never paid this much money for a pair of socks - but, the socks are well worth the money. Both my husband and myself did not have swollen ankles or legs due to these socks on a long trip to Europe. My husband even used them on long 10 hour tours! We are so glad we bought them.

Very comfortable socks. My feet and legs felt better after my long flight than they ever had. They're also warm, which is good because my feet usually get cold on airplanes.

These worked very well, sometimes my feet would get sore after a long car ride however after a sixteen hour flight to Hong Kong from NY they felt fine. They are worth the money.

Buy these socks if your feet always swell. I always have that problem and it is also painful to walk until they go down. I flew from US to India and even had a 12 hour layover in England. My feet were perfect! I could not believe it. They are a little expensive but worth every cent.

Recently used these socks for the first time on two long RT flights (one for five hours, another for 11 hours) - results were AMAZING! No discomfort from the compression - legs felt massaged the entire time, and no swelling at the end of the trip!!

I cringed spending so much on a pair of socks but I bought them for a recent 17 hr. and 10 hr. flight. They were wonderful! At the end of the flight I could still slip my shoes back on! My legs felt so refreshed when I took these socks off after so many hours. I will never travel without them again.

I wore these socks on many long flights ... up to 17 hours. My legs did not swell and I felt comfortable the entire time. I have tried TED hose, but these are much better.
