Breathe easy in polluted cities with the I Can Breathe® Mask. Exhaust fumes, cigarette smoke, germs, and industrial air pollution can be a real problem for travelers in large, crowded cities. The mask frame is Honeycomb, the filter is an ACF (activated carbon filter) that protects your lungs from these respiratory irritants. It's lightweight, washable, and tucks compactly into your pocket or purse. Made of durable poly/cotton and plastic with adjustable latex-free elastic ear loops for a comfortable fit. A must for visits to China! Includes one filter. (5 x 4 x 1/8"; ˝ oz)

Care Instructions:

Care:
When not in use, the mask and filter may be hung to dry if damp then sealed in a bag . If the taste or smell of pollution comes through or you feel discomfort in your chest, it is time to discard the filter. How long the filter lasts depends upon your sensitivities and environment.

Wash:
If you are sensitive to fragrances, wash the frame before wearing to remove any residue from manufacturing. The Honeycomb Mask is hand washable in cool water with unscented liquid detergent or dissolved baking soda. Rinse. Blot it with a towel then hang it to dry before inserting a disposable carbon filter. Do not wash the filter, discard.

More Information:

The Honeycomb Mask is a comfortable, porous lightweight frame that holds and seals a disposable activated carbon filter. The carbon fabric plus two inner layers of filtration material reduce exposure to indoor and outdoor pollutants: fragrances, particles, cigarette soot, smog, dust, diesel fumes, formaldehyde, and household chemicals from 50% to 95% depending on the substance. This "Have mask, will travel!" mask is made for traveling by car or airplane.

  I can breathe Mask
By Larry B., LA in March, 2012

•   The mask works fine but, it is small for me, Looks like it was made for a small woman. I am a large man and it does not go around my chin.

I Can't Breathe With This Mask
By Allison B., MS in February, 2012

•   The mask itself has a very unpleasant chemical smell. If I wear for more than five minutes I become nauseated and develop a headache. I've tried it out where people were smoking, which is my main problem, and it really didn't work. The smoke smell came through the mask, which had the disgusting chemical smell, and seemed to get caught in the mask, so that I was unable to breathe.

I Can Breathe Mask-Wouldn't be without one !
By Patricia S., VA in August, 2011

•   I've used this handy mask multiple times during travel. In Kenya during drought--awful dust when zipping around in Land Rover; El Salvador--construction dust while building cinder block and mortar walls for children feeding area; as a barrier on airline flights when person's near me are coughing and sneezing. Great for mouth breathers who fall asleep on airplanes (the phrase "catching flies" makes me uneasy !) It's easy & compact (flat) to carry anytime with additional carbon filters. The beige color is more neutral/less standout than disposable white masks. Outer mask quick to wash & air dry. Now my spouse keeps one in his briefcase. Never know what may come up. Great product !

  Great Mask
By Lisa M., AZ in December, 2010

•   I use this mask for two main things, fireplace smoke and dryer sheets, and it works great. It also helps with some things I'm exposed to at work that make me sick, like bleach, incense, car exhaust and certain foods. I've only used one filter so far, but for bleach, exhaust and food two would probably be perfect. It's also pretty comfortable.

  Gets the job done
By Tracy B., AZ in June, 2010

•   It does a great job of filtering out obnoxious odors but after about 5 minutes it gets very warm and I kept having to lift the mask periodically to get cooler air on my face.

  My safety shield
By Adolfo P., CA in March, 2010

•   I've tried several mask and this is the best mask I can find and the most comfortable. With a compromised immune system due to chemo and radiation, I always have it with me ready to use wherever I go. This is actually my second one as I misplaced it on my last travel.

  A MUST for asthmatics
By Candace D., IL in January, 2010

•   As an asthmatic, who lived 6 years in Mexico City--I only wish I had had THIS miracle mask there. Traveling to Cairo, with both particulates from the desert AND fume pollution from mankind--I was worried. Getting and using one of these--saved me in many ways.

  Mamajac's Masks
By Jacqui M., CA in October, 2009

•   This is my 3rd Mask I have ordered. I keep one in my suitcase/bags at all times in my travels.
I have used them for the California fires/smoke-worked GREAT!. In planes where there was a coughing passenger near by. In cities with smog or in Hawaii's Vog.

The best thing for protection from germs
By Darlene Y., MO in May, 2009

•   The I Can Breathe Mask has been the best thing ever for protection from germs being recirculated on airplanes for me Before my use of it everytime I flew I ended up in the hospital with respiratory illness. Since using my mask I have not had any problems or hospitalizations. I recommend it to everyone I know with respiratory problems.

  I can breathe mask
By Dorothy F., CT in May, 2009

•   Fortunately I did not need this for the swine flu epidemic, but I am traveling to Eastern Europe shortly and will take it with me. An epidimeologist indicated that the white gauze mask were worthless but this was the only kind to get.

  Great For Dust
By Nita I., CA in April, 2009

•   This is a great mask for dusty places which I travel to.

By Margaret H., TX in September, 2008
•   I use a C-Pac machine nighly, but did not want to risk taking it and getting it lost or broken in transit. The mask has done very well for what I need it for at night. I would definitely recommend this product.

•   I love my mask! I had ordered one for my son-in-law when they had the fires near their home in Southern California and he could breath better! He thought it worked well! So when we had the fires here in Northern California and I, myself, could not go out in the smoke - I ordered my own. What a blessing it is! I could breath and not even smell the smoke. I now take it every where with me. China should be investing in the masks!

•   I am sensitive to perfumes and exhaust fumes. I used this twice during my recent trip to Costa Rica. First on the flight there as I sat next to a man who had drowned himself in Polo. I used it again on the streets in San Jose, they must not have the exhaust standards we have in the States because all the truckers were spewing fumes. Even though I looked like a duck wearing this mask, made my family laugh, it sure filtered out the fumes.
