I used these headphones on a four hour flight from the west coast to the midwest. I found them very comfortable and incredibly effective at reducing cabin noise. It's quite impressive to turn noise cancelling on and off while wearing the headphones: you really hear the difference they make.
I was very impressed to find that my ability to hear and understand normal conversation was actually improved versus not wearing the headphones. The upside of this is that it's easier to hold a conversation, the downside is that you can also more easily hear conversations being held around you, potentially making it a bit more difficult to rest. I suppose wearing a set of earplugs along with the earphones would give you the best noise blocking possible.
A gentleman sitting next to me on the outbound leg owned a set of Bose noise cancelling headphones and was happy to compare the two. He indicated that the Quiet Point headphones had just as good of noise cancellation as the Bose, and while the Quiet Point headphones were slightly heavier, he felt that they seemed more sturdily built.
For my part, I found the headphones quite comfortable and they really helped me sleep on the return leg, when I was a bit worn out from a three day business trip. I would highly recommend them to anyone going on long flights, and especially to business travelers, as they really help you rest.

Great headphones. While I was unable to compare side by side with Bose, my memory tells that this headphone was the equal if not better than Bose at half the price. The case has room for an ipod.
