Pockets? 18 and counting . . .
As its name implies, the SCOTTEVEST® Essential Jacket is the travel jacket you simply can't do without. Designed especially for a woman's shape, it's loaded with great features. For starters, the sleeves zip off, making it comfortable in any weather conditions. Then there's the multitude of pockets and compartments, inside and out. Load them up with everything from your passport to your iPod, digital camera, cell phone, maps and guidebooks, and leave that extra tote bag at home. The Weight Management System® in the shoulders evenly distributes the weight of your gear, and the built-in PAN (Personal Area Network) System® lets you run headset wires up through the lining and out the collar for tangle-free listening. Lightweight and breathable, it's made of brushed cotton/nylon with a polyester lining and Teflon® coating for water and stain resistance. Machine washable.
For maximum comfort and optimum fit, we suggest selecting one size larger.

I use this jacket for my electronic gear (a growing list) and my jewelry, credit cards and money. Nothing of value goes into my purse anymore. Going through airport security, I put it into the bin on top of my shoes. No problems!

I bought this for a trip to Turkey where you can't have any more than a 33 lb suitcase on inner country travel on the airlines. I haven't taken my trip yet but once I tried the jacket I didn't want to wait for the trip. I guess I will have to order another one soon. Just love it.

The jacket is exactly what I needed for a trip to Rome in March. I love all of the pockets, and it fits well. However, women that wear jewelry should beware, because the cylindrically-shaped cord keepers that run up the edge of the zipper in the front will catch any long chains that you wear and break them when you take the jacket off. I almost lost a $1000 pendant when my chain was broken.

What a clever jacket with all the discreet pockets! The jacket does run a bit small...if you need warmth order a larger size and wear with sweaters. I'm a petite and the sleeves were a bit too long, but have hemmed them up. TSA will go through the jacket especially if you have ipod speaker wires in place. One small carry-on along with this jacket makes for streamlined air travel. Thanks!
Bad Zippers

I really like the design of this jacket and the fabric...however; on the largest pocket, the zipper sticks and will not completely zip. I'm very frustrated to have to send it back for a new one. It's inconvenient and we don't have much time until we leave on our trip.
Not this time

I ordered this to take on a trip to Israel. I ordered a larger size than I normally would and it still fit tight. It seemed that it would be way too warm to wear to a desert country even tho I loved all the pockets. I sent it back but may reorder it later in a larger size.
Looks good but iPod cord feature drives me nuts

I like the styling of this jacket , it fits well, and I used several pockets to advantage during my recent trip. But I lost small items like my camera in the jacket when they slid through openings in the bottom of jacket, from one side to the other. Also any significant weight--part of a guidebook, small flashlight and tiny camera--caused the jacket to pull forward hurting my neck after a couple of days. There is no weight management. And a light rain quickly soaked through the jacket.
SCOTTEVEST IS SENSATIONAL

I love this jacket. Weight is great - stops wind and keeps you warm, but very light fabric. The pockets are fantastic. Can't wait to take it on an airplane fully loaded with "stuff". I did have to have the sleeves shortened and lost the benefit of the inside cuff. Doesn't wrinkle. I would highly recommend this jacket to any woman to replace many in her closet. Extremely functional, but looks good at same time. Also ordered men's Essential Jacket for my husband and he loves it also.
Lots of handy pockets

I love this jacket. I purchased this for my parents for their trip to Europe. They absolutely loved them. Extra added security. So I decided to purchase one for me seeing that I do quite a bit of traveling as well. Needless to say, this jacket is perfect for traveling or shopping, everything right on you no purse or bag needed.
Great travel wear

Not exactly the most stylish, but certainly adaptable and forgiving for fit and feel. Used it for an end-of-summer trip to Italy, where it got to 18-20 C at night. Comfortable enough with fully-loaded pockets to sleep in on planes. I had not expected the hidden ribbed cuffs, which comfortably let sleeves quickly be pushed and held up. A couple of zippers were sticky to start with but eased with use. And I've discovered I can zip the sleeves on and off without removing the vest!
LOVE it - don't leave it!

Correct size choice is the only caveat for this jacket. It's light weight, packable, has all the pockets and weather protection for documents and items that I even need - and that's a lot of stuff! Layered over sweaters or fleeces, it's a toasty as can be. Or just over a tee in the rain, it works to keep the wet and chill off bare skin. Mine is permanently in my 'must have' bag for traveling!
Great Idea

Perfect! This works great for travel and lessens the load in my carry on bag without looking chunky. Love the zip off sleeves. Would love to see the women's style in more colors and lighter fabrics.

This is a great jacket! However, a word of warning check the actual measurements before ordering to decide between a man's or a woman's. I found the woman's XXL too small.
Better Than a Purse

I bought this vest so I wouldn't have to carry a purse in addition to carry on luggage. I found that it is more versitle than that. I also wear it to amusement parks and other areas where a purse becomes a hinderance (think serious shopping). When the weather demands a heavier coat, I just zip off the sleeves and wear it underneath. It didn't look bulky until I added the bottle of water and the paperback book. I would buy this again and would recommend it.

Saw this item while looking for a gift for my husband. We are going on a 2 week cruise and knew that this would allow for off shore ventures to be more hands free. You have to order a size up for both males and females. It fit beautifully in my normal coat size, but knew it would be too snug to start filling those pockets. Am currently waiting for my larger size returned in the mail. Great look, feel, weight--stylish!

When I received the email on this item, I was making plans for my trip to the Holy Land. I needed something that I could use for my ID, money, cell phone, and etc. I was looking for something different instead of the waist pouches. Because of high crime and they did a lot of pick pocketing or cutting the straps off of pocket books and front pouches the travel agency discouraged us in using them. This jacket came in handy and met all of my needs for things and I felt secured.

This has the potential to be a superb jacket with all of the pockets if they fix one problem and that's why I rated it a 1 star and returned it for a refund. Zippers on those pockets are terrible and make opening and closing extremely difficult , that is if they open at all. They need to upgrade the zippers. The concept is wonderful but the zippers as they stand now are bad. Until the manufacturer corrects this problem I can't recommend anyone buy the product.

Looks great. Loved the idea of all the pockets so you don't have to carry a bag. Unfortunately it was a mismatch with my body, loose where I didn't need it and snug where I needed more room. The next size would have required tailoring.

This is a well made garment, however, it is cut on the small side. If you intend to put anything in the pockets, you may want to get a size larger than you normally would wear. I am a petite size 10 and needed a 12.

An innovative jacket..., it's the equivalent of a carry-on bag you wear. Instead of removing all your electronic devices at security and turning them on and off, just put the jacket through the x-ray machine.
