Broad-brimmed, with a mesh crown and Airflo panels, this unisex hat provides 50+ SPF (blocking 98% of UVA/UVB rays) and offers superior ventilation. The underbrim filters and absorbs glare from water, sand and pavement, and the soft, quick-drying Hydrofil sweatband wicks perspiration from the forehead. Mildew-resistant and rain-repellent, it has an interior security pocket, tuck-away front tie, and rolls up for easy packing. (10 oz)

• For the first time--a hat that I don't hate. It fits, it's comfortable, it does not blow away in high winds, it shades my face from the intense NM sun-- and it looks decent. Have not yet worn it when it gets hot outside, but if the vented top cools as it promises, I will be thrilled. Also have not yet washed it, but if it washes as promised, this hat is a real winner.

• I recently bought the western-style Tilley hat and brought it to a vacation to Hawaii. As I was kayaking a river on Kauai a gust of wind blew the hat off my head and into the river. As the makers advertise, the hat floated and I was able to retrieve it (along with a credit card and cash stored in the hat's secure pocket). I wore the hat hiking, kayaking, on the beach and poolside and stayed comfortable even in the 85 degree heat of the day. Well worth the price!

• I saw this great hat on a traveler in Texas - he highly recommended it especially for hot climates. Texas can get truly hot. I just had to have one for my trip to China.
