Purchase offering peace of mind-- Priceless!
By Donna B., MI in August, 2010

•   I recently purchased this bag for a trip to Rome. It was a great buy. I used it as my purse, and between it and my rolling carry-on bag, this was all the luggage I needed for a week's stay. In black, it was neutral enough to be more like a messenger bag, so my companion had no issue carrying it-- in fact, we kept his wallet inside, too! Knowing our stuff was safely sealed and secure offered great peace of mind.

  Invaluable!
By Isis L., NM in July, 2010

•   I bought this bag for my recent trip to Europe, and I carried it with me every day. I felt quite safe with the slash-resistant fabric and straps, and the clip for the zipper. I draped the strap across my body, held the end with the clipped zipper, and didn't worry about a thing.

The bag held up very well, and still looks quite new after two weeks of traipsing around. My only wish would be for it to be a smidge bigger so the zipper wouldn't strain when my laptop was in the bag.

  Great idea!
By Renee K., MI in July, 2010

•   I haven't used the bag yet. (That's coming next week.) I was impressed at the quality and thought put into the bag. Love the organizational pockets on the inside.

  The best travel bag ever!
By Bev B., US in April, 2010

•   Bought this in 'cranberry' I think! It holds my camera, a SLR, umbrella at one end and my water bottle. Inside, another layer to wear in case.... or jacket. Square spillproof container 6" x 6" x 4" that I use to take snacks, fruit, cheese, sandwiches etc with me. Guide book, a foldup hat. All the docs you need travelling, books, an ebook reader! Marvellous carry on bag! I am an older woman (not that old!) who travels on her own feeling so safe. Put my hand through the two straps and holds on.

  glad i bought this bag
By Rebecca L., AL in March, 2010

•   I wear this bag criss-crossed over my body. When leaning forward, it stays close to my body; a must when traveling in uncertain areas. There is plenty of room inside with a divider and pockets and a zippered pocket. Like end pockets for umbrella, phone charger, or sm bottled water. When I spilled something on it, it cleaned up with a wet cloth. Outside pocket is handy for sightseeing papers and notes.

  Very Useful
By Connie C., ME in February, 2010

•   This bag was exactly what I wanted. Small enough to use as a purse, big enough for the essentials of a day trip in the third world: toilet paper, water bottle, cell phone, notebook, snacks, etc. Well organized. Lots of zippered pockets for money, passports, etc. Light weight. Love it. If you want a bag big enough for your laptop, go up a size, this wouldn't work for anything but a netbook but it's a great purse alternative

  Almost Perfect
By Susan B., FL in February, 2010

•   I am very happy with this bag. It's very stylish but also practical. The fabric appears to be very sturdy.CONS: The strap keeps slipping off my shoulder too easily. The 2 small zippered outside pockets would be more useful as one BIG pocket. The credit card slots are pretty useless. Too easy for cards to fall out. It would be better as another pocket instead. The water bottle holder is pretty tight. Only a small bottle fits in....just barely. But the bag is very stylish and holds a lot

  CIty Bag 200 - a Great Bag
By Brenda A., ON in January, 2010

•   I am tough to please and I do like this bag. I find it great to wear as a cross body bag leaving my hands free for shopping. I have plenty of room inside for my wallet plus I often carry a pocket book to read while riding the transit and still have plenty of room. I will be looking for another bag in the very near future.

  why buy anything else
By Sheila M., AB in November, 2009

•   Really, I don't know why you make any other purse. This comes in two sizes, (I have the smaller one), and has so many safety features that I will never buy another purse ever!
I felt so comfortable know that no pickpockets could cut the strap, steal while I was eating out at a resturant . The strap is long enough to go over the other shoulder, so I had two hands to shop with.
I did bring the info so that going through Customs and all the metal mesh showed up, I could explain about the purse (an

  Great except for the strap
By Lu T., TX in November, 2009

•   I find the CitySafe 200 Shoulder Bag has all that I believe I will need when traveling. However, the strap slips off my shoulder, which is not a problem I normally have. I do like the bag enough to look for a solution instead of returning the purse. I'm exploring the devices on the market to assist with that.

  Almost perfect travel bag
By Marcia H., OH in November, 2009

•   Very convenient for holding a small wallet safely tucked away, other personal items, a cell phone and camera, and still manageable. Small zipper compartments on outside in back not very useful -- should be replaced by one longer compartment suitable for holding maps, etc.

Great travel and everyday bag. Almost perfect.
By Maurine N., NY in October, 2009

•   Of the 3 security-type shoulder bags I ordered from Magellan this one was the very best for my purposes. The bag is well-constructed, roomy, comfortable to carry, and secure, although I still used a money belt. The adjustable shoulder strap is a nice feature and I really liked the outside pockets to carry a water bottle and umbrella that don't require unzipping the bag. Only drawback are the two smaller outside zippered pockets - one larger pocket would have been better for maps, etc.

  Very well made; great quality
By Lucy L., NJ in October, 2009

•   This handbag/ tote has lots of space. One of side pockets has a stretchable part so my 12 oz. Poland Springs bottle fit in that one with a little push and my small Totes umbrella fit in the other one with a little push. Love the security features. Dark taupe has a nice sheen to it. Not a dress bag but good for every day; very functional and sturdy construction. I expect it to last a long time; worth the price paid.

  Still pleased with this bag
By Barbara G., NV in October, 2009

•   I have now used this bag on an international trip and found it large enough for a cabin bag. It holds a paperback and other incidentals. I still miss having a long pocket on the back (where the two small pockets are) to hold boarding passes, travel folder etc. Also, the small 'pockets' inside for credit cards are, to my mind, useless. Better to have another single long pocket there. My bag stayed clean and I know I'll get lots of use from it especially with the security features.

  Great size, lightweight, comfortable
By G J., CA in September, 2009

•   This purse is large enough to put a paperback book inside as well as all of your regular items. The clip to secure the main zipper and keep it closed is great. Strap is long and comfortable, fits across my body well while leaving enough room to not feel cramped. My only complaint is that the "bottle holder" does not hold a regular size water bottle, also removed divide sewing on outside pockets to make larger area. Recommend!

  GREAT ALL AROUND
By ALICE H., NY in August, 2009

•   I FIRST GOT THIS BAG IN TAN FOR SUMMER AND TRAVEL. I FOUND IT SO SATISFACTORY THAT I ORDERED ANOTHER IN BLACK. IN ADDITION TO BEING COMFORTABLE TO USE IT IS ALSO LIGHT WEIGHT. A GOOD VALUE ALL AROUND.

  So Far, So Good
By Barbara G., NV in July, 2009

•   I've only just received this bag, but it looks good so far. My big disappointment was that there are two smaller pockets on the back of the bag rather than one long one which would take my leather travel folder in which I keep passports, tickets, itineraries, airline cards etc. However, I can use the inner long compartment for this. I wanted a bag to use as an airline cabin bag and a handbag so this may do it.

  secure!
By Mary Ann H., OK in May, 2009

•   After hearing so much about petty theft, I bought this bag to take on a trip to Italy. I felt VERY safe wearing this cross body style. I kept the top zipper clipped, and kept smaller bills and coins in one ot the front pocket where I could get to them quickly. I also used the feature that allows you to clip the handle around the arm of a chair when we were eating out. It does look much more like a messenger bag than a purse, is a little heavy due to the wires, and I will probably get a smaller size, but over all, I was VERY happy that I took this with me.

  Love my new purse
By Obie M., PA in April, 2009

•   Although the purse is larger than I expected, I love it. Well organized, very well made, sturdy with great safety details, yet very light. I got caught in a downpour yesterday, and nothing in my purse got wet, and the exterior was dry again in moments. Everything I need fits inside, even a magazine unfolded. I love it.

  Nice bag
By Lin V., CA in April, 2009

•   I appreciate the size and strength of this bag. I love the pockets and the light colored interior, which makes it easy to find things. It is easy to adjust the strap. It holds everything I need to carry, easily.I may also buy the smaller size. While it is not stylish like a D&G, it is a very practical bag. I was actually showing it to 6 women at breakfast yesterday. Magellan's should pay me a commission!

  Great Bag
By Andrea E., PA in January, 2009

•   I used this bag recently in Mexico, and I felt very confident that the contents were safe. It has plenty of room, and I found it lightweight. I think a large pocket would be nice on the back for a guide book, but it's a well-organized bag, and I found it easy to access my things inside. I had planned to keep my camera in it once we were settled in Mexico the first day, but it was stolen three hours after we got into Mexico. Too bad I didn't put it in the bag sooner!

  Great travel bag!
By Anonymous in January, 2009

•   (minus one star for fashion) Large enough to fit a change of clothes (not bulky ones) with plenty of interior and exterior pockets, this bag has a pouch on each end-- one for a bottle of water and one for a mini travel umbrella. The strap can be worn over the shoulder or across the body if you are of average build. I took this as my purse for a one week trip around Turkey and I love it so much I plan to buy a larger one to fit my camera bag inside (will they please make these as camera bags?). This bag is not fashionable enough for a fancy restaurant although it could pass in a pinch.

200 Shoulder Bag a real charmer
By Gloria Carol S., MD in December, 2008

•   I love this bag it meets all my needs for space and has the advantage of being reinforced for security. I am giving one to my sister for Christmas. She travels out of the country.

  Well made and secure!
By Bernadette P., AK in December, 2008

•   This bag was excellent piece of mind for a recent trip to Rome, Athens, Istanbul and Cairo. Solidly made with superior security features, I was always confident that I would be secure in any situation. The bag has plenty of room and enough zippered pockets to keep things well organized. I was surprised at how much I could comfortably carry in confidence. Well worth it and looks good, too!

  I LOVE this bag!
By Melanie R., NC in December, 2008

•   I love this bag! I have already recommended it to everyone I know that travels or is nervous in stores with their bags. I bought it for our trip to Romania this past summer and it was just wonderful with its security features, looks good, and great inside pockets that are padded..you can feel secure with your digital cameras and camcorders! I did.It has a LONG zipper pocket inside that is great for passport and tickets so you don't see them every time open.Great to attach to tables, carts, etc.

  Used it once so far
By Erin B., MN in November, 2008

•   I have this bag in the brown, and it really more of a brown than a tan. The best surprise was that the lining is a bright blue. It's really cute. It has a ton of pockets, and I was able to fit much more in it than I had imagined, which can lead to a problem of having a heavy shoulder bag. Used this as a "day bag" or purse for my entire trip to Florida, and looking forward to using it in Los Cabos and Ireland next year- should be perfect for both trips. Worth every cent.

  Better Safe the Sorry
By Phyllis E., KY in November, 2008

•   I'm sure when I go to Thailand in February, this extremely attractive and efficient bag will prove to be all that I expect. The safety features are an extra bonas which gives me confidence that it will meet all my needs and some.

Cheap insurance against theft -- also a very nice purse
By Anonymous in November, 2008

•   On the international trip I just took, I have no idea whether anyone actually tried to pick its pockets, but knowing they'd be foiled if they did was delightful. It's also a well-made purse that looks nice in use. Dust and grime of many colors brushes right off the fabric (I got black) completely. Smart interior details. This will probably become my most-used purse.

  Almost Perfect
By Dee W., AE

•   Although this bag has many great features and is really a unisex bag making it convenient for either my husband or myself, it really lacks one thing-- a long outside pocket for easy access to a map/guidebook. Sure you can fit a map or guidebook inside, but do you want to be opening up your bag and exposing the contents to fish out the map or guidebook? The only two pockets on the outside are too small for maps/books.

By Brenda M., NY in October, 2008
•   A great, classy addition to my wardrobe...this bag is lightweight and filled with many compartments for all my traveling essentials. At last, my husband did not complain that I couldn'y find something!!!

By Anonymous in October, 2008
•   Wonderful lightweight but durable bag. Excellent for travel but good for everyday.

By Anonymous in October, 2008
•   I really enjoyed having this bag on a recent European trip. Alhough we did not have any problems with pickpockets, it still gave me peace of mind to know that my money and ID was secure. I removed the seam from the two back pockets with increased usability. I was able to store a lot of items inside without making the bag very heavy. I would definitely recommend it!

By carl g., CA in September, 2008
•   just as pictured, light weight, good color, seems to be able to carry all the items my wents/needs for a day out

By Mary Leila B., NJ in August, 2008
•   Best purse I ever owned. Have one in black with was bought for a trip. So handy with lots of pockets and security features I've used it every day for over 2 years and it still looks almost new. Just bought one in Light Taupe and it's great.

By Bonnie J., IL in August, 2008
•   This bag is excellent, nice looking and easy to use. It did all you said it would. It kept my belongs safe through London, Paris and Rome. I'm still using it at home. Thanks a ton!

By Anonymous in July, 2008
•   Bought this purse for an 11-day trip to Italy. When I first saw it, I thought it was too bulky to be lugging everyday. After putting my guidebook, umbrella, water bottle, camera, wallet, map, tissues, medicines, sunglasses, small notebook, etc. inside, it was perfect! I often wore it diagonally across my chest and rested my hand on the strap. It was lightweight, didn't swing around too much, and the black color saved it from being too geeky.

•   111 days traveling Europe from August to November, 2007. In any place I was, surrounded by crowds or walking down narrow alleys I never worried about this shoulder bag. After all this time the wire started to poke out. Eventhough, I am buying one for a gift.

By Karin S., AB
•   I have used this bag extensively while traveling on trips to Europe, and in Mexico where we have a second home. While this bag with its many pockets functions well, with extended use the ends of cables in the strap work their way through the leather, resulting in small very stiff wires poking from them. This causes painful injuries from unexpected contact with these ends. I have had to remove the cables to continue to use this bag, thereby losing one of the safety features I purchased it for in the first place.

By Anonymous
•   The bag is exactly what I was looking for - light and roomy. However, I do not know what size umbrella or water bottle would fit into the outside compartments - they are extremely narrow.

By Anonymous
•   I took this bag to Italy and never had a worry. I used it all the time, and felt comfortable carrying it on the train, walking, everywhere. It carried all my necessaries (camera, binoculars, water) and kept it organized, too. I used a carabiner-type spring clip to lock the zipper (the built-in one was too small to deal with quickly) .

By Anonymous
•   Took this bag to Italy for a two week trip and I loved it EXCEPT FOR ONE THING. The shoulder strap has wiring in it for safety, but it cuts into your shoulder. I HIGHLY recommend buying a little shoulder cushion to attach to the strap. Save yourself the sore shoulders that I had! Other than that, the bag was great. Totally felt safe the whole time and it is cute enough to not make you look like a tourist.

•   I used this bag recently in Austria, Greece and Italy and found it to be wonderful. It had plenty of room for all my paperwork in the safe inside pockets and still roomy enough for small gifts, camera, phone and even a paperback for on the plane or train.I felt very safe keeping my valuables in this bag.

•   I purchased this bag for an overseas trip to Spain, Italy and Croatia during May 2007. When it arrived by post, I was a bit disappointed how large it is, but I soon found out on our trip, that we needed this size to fit all our travel items. I found the bag to be excellent, I didn't have a problem with the shoulder strap as per review above, in fact I found to be very comfortable sitting on my shoulder. I also wore it diagonally over my body, which gave me peace of mind to concentrate on sightseeing, not looking after my bag..The best feature about this bag, is the clip which closes the main compartment of the bag. When closed, I keep my thumb on top of the clip as I held the shoulder strap, and I knew there was no way that any thief could get into my bag. Also knowing the straps and the fabric of the bag was slash proof was peace of mind when walking around the cities. It has so many pockets inside, I kept passports in one, and all my tickets, vouchers etc in the other. Heaps of room on the inside to fit maps, brochures, fruit, snacks etc. Pockets for my sunglasses, cellphone, reading glasses, water bottle etc. Half way through our trip, I found even more side pockets I didn't know were there. As it doesn't look like a woman's handbag, my husband could wear it and not look too out of place. The only disadvantage I could find with this bag, because of the embedded wire mesh in the fabric, it is quite heavy, but my husband did not find it a problem at all so he spent a lot of time carrying it for me. I have now lent it to my friend who is leaving any day for her trip to Europe.

•   I used this bag while traveling for 2 months in the summer of '06 and then again while traveling for 2 months in the winter of '06 and '07. It is an excellent bag and I highly recommend it. In the past I have had another bag taken and another one slashed from the bottom by a pick pocket while I was traveling on a crowded subway train. I have been looking for security features in my handbags ever since and this one has them all. I have also used the CitySafe Tote and plan to purcahse the CitySafe Handbag. The product line is an excellent one! I highly recommend all in the porduct line.

•   I used this purse every day during a 2 month trip in South America this winter. In Lima, most of the restaurants have chairs with built in straps or chains for customer's bags to prevent against theft. I never needed these because this purse has it's own detachable strap. The locking zipper is an amazing invention. Carrying this bag across my body gave me an immense amount of confidence--as long as I kept everything zipped and closed, I knew my belongings were safe and I had the freedom to think about more important things on the trip. I strongly recommend this bag.
