Pockets? 19 and counting . . . As its name implies, the SCOTTEVEST® Essential Jacket is the travel jacket you can't do without. It's versatile, durable, and loaded with features that make traveling a breeze. For starters, when it's not cold enough to need a full jacket, the sleeves zip off. Then there's the multitude of pockets and compartments, inside and out. Load them up with everything from your passport to your iPod, digital camera, cell phone, maps and guidebooks and leave that extra tote bag at home. The Weight Management System® in the shoulders evenly distributes the weight of your gear, and the built-in PAN (Personal Area Network) System® lets you run headset wires up through the lining and out the collar for tangle-free listening. Lightweight and breathable, it's made of brushed cotton/nylon with a polyester lining and Teflon® coating for water and stain resistance. Machine washable.

For maximum comfort and optimum fit, we suggest selecting one size larger.

CAUTION: Because of magnetic closures, if you have a pacemaker, please consult your physician before wearing this garment.

  Great Jacket
By Vaughn M., AB in June, 2010

•   This jacket is great. The only thing that I do not like are the cuffs in the sleeves. I would suggest the removal of the knit cuffs on the interior of the sleeves and make it a button or zipper cuff.

  Great vest
By James M., WA in November, 2009

•   The design and provision for carrying capacity of the Men's Essential Jacket by SCOTTEVEST is imaginative and great. Since you asked, though, one of the long inner zippers has been sticky and stubborn since day one.

Lots of pockets and stylish too. A good jacket for travel and good jacket for everyday wear.

  Good product, excellent service.
By Jack T., AK in October, 2009

•   Good jacket, well made and fits well. The first jacket delivered was faulty but was replaced quickly and my return postage refunded. Excellent service. The catalogue recommends ordering a size larger than your normal size so I did.. The first jacket was huge so I re ordered my usual size. If in any doubt, ask Magellans for the actual chest measurement of the size you think you need. They are quite happy to provide this.

•   Do I like it? I just ordered another in a different color. I've used it both as a jacket and a vest.

  Jacket is great and light
By Larry T., NY in May, 2009

•   I found that for the first time I could actually wear a light jacket on a plane. With pockets everywhere I had all I needed for 5 hour flight. The jacket looks good and well worth the money.

  Super jacket
By Carole P., IL in May, 2009

•   Bought this for my husband's birthday. He hasn't even worn it yet, but he loves it. He has checked out all the pockets and can't wait to take it on our trip to Germany. He even recommended it to other guys. What a hit!

Great product- way too much for shipping
By Dave P., CO in May, 2009

•   I bought this jacket at Magellan's because everywhere else online seemed to be out of it. The jacket is terrific- just as advertised. But $14 for shipping?! That's more than 10 percent of what the jacket cost! No wonder every other online store I checked (including the manufacturer) was out, but Magellan's had them. I'm glad I bought the jacket, but I'd definitely try to find it someplace else.

  Size and fit
By Chris J., FL in April, 2009

•   Jacket quality and pocket design is excellent. However, as I am rather tall, the sleeve length could be a little longer. The jacket could also use a drawcord to tighten the bottom of the jacket. I also purchased the Evolution Jacket and the fit was much better for my height.

  Sizing is tricky
By Helen L., CO in February, 2009

•   I enjoy the womans vest so much I decided to get a jacket for my husband who hates vests. Now that I don't carry a purse he needed someplace to put all his "honey will you put this in your purse stuff". He steadfastly refuses to carry anything in his hand and barely tolerates a backpack. He tried this on and really seemed to like it, but his usual XL was just a little too large everywhere, but especially in the sleeve length. Also the cuffs are sort of floppy. I'll add a button tab.

  Early X-mas gifts
By  in December, 2008

•   The two jackets were given as early X-mas gifts. The older recipient liked it as a all purpose travel jacket, loved the removable sleeves. The younger recipient couldn't get over all the pockets. They both thought the little suggestion notes in each pocket was a great idea. AND that the fit was stylish not bulky.

  perfect weight, lots of pockets
By Ken H., TX in November, 2008

•   It never gets very cold in Houston so heavy coats are not necessary. The weight of this jacket is great for this area. We do get a lot of rain so the material is appropriate as well. But, what I really like is all the pockets. The only negative is that the headphone storage in the back can be scratchy if your shirt collar rides lower on the neck. Just make sure the velcro is completely covered by the flap

  Amazing Jacket
By dionisio s., FL in November, 2008

•   I haven't seen before a nice product like this jacket. It is really impressive to discover inside the jacket "thousands" of pockets where you can carry your personal belongins comfortably. It was so useful for me in my last trip.

An innovative jacket..., it's the equivalent of a carry-on bag you wear. Instead of removing all your electronic devices at security and turning them on and off, just put the jacket through the x-ray machine.
