Thanks for the opportunity to hear the alarm replicated. Without my hearing aids I could not hear it. With them I could hear it fine. But I won't be sleeping with my hearing aids on. My hearing loss is mostly at the high frequencies as is fairly common. My suggstion would be to lower the frequency range of the alarm. Maybelike the sharp 'bongs' striking a drum.
Excellent- This is the first travel clock I have had where the dial stays light all night. It is an excellent product and I am back to buy more for my family members.
Great companion - I hate trusting alarm clocks in hotels, and this one has the advantage of having a constantly lighted dial, being a night light, and/or using it as a flashlight. I found the lighted dial adequate to read in half-awake mode, but angle can be a problem. The drawbacks are it has a single 4-position sliding switch for the alarm and light functions, and it's easy to put in the wrong setting in the dark. Also, even though it's a clamshell, it would be nice to have a sleeve to put it into rather than just dropping it into the shaving kit. Overall I'm thoroughly pleased with the value.
This is a very well designed, sturdy, functional travel clock. When the alarm is set, the face is illuminated so that the digits are clearly visible. Naturally this is most impressive in a fully darkened room. Also, when the alarm is set, a very satisfactory small flash light is available. All in all, very nicely designed. I know of no other travel alarm clock which has this combination of features.
Thought this was the answer to my wishes - not having to fumble with pressing a button to see the time. Being able to open one eye from my pillow to see the time is what I wanted. Bought this - but disappointment city. The lcd screen is so dim and must be oriented just so to see the time - which usually means I've got to pick it up to get the screen in proper viewing position. Which, of course, defeats the whole purpose of this clock. I consider money down the drain.
At first, I thought the clock I received was defective because I saw no backlight. After several tries in dark rooms, I finally perceived a very dim light. Useless. Also, some functions only work with the alarm on. It is also confusing where to position the sliding buttons to activate certain functions. Flashlight button must be held down to keep light on -- a disadvantage for people with arthritis in hands.
