Plug in en route! Here's a low-cost way to plug in at 35,000 feet. With an auto power adaptor like our Smart AC 120 Watt Inverter that can run and charge your laptop through your car's cigarette lighter socket, all you need to plug into the airline's EmPower socket is this inexpensive connector. Simply plug your auto adaptor into the socket of this connector, and the other end of this connector into the EmPower socket in your armrest (on aircraft so equipped) for unlimited power from coast to coast. (9½" long; 1½ oz)

When traveling with your laptop, check with the airline to see if they offer seat outlets on your flight. If so, you can purchase an EmPower adaptor that will allow you to plug your laptop into the plane's power rather than running on your laptop battery.

•   Works well and is not too large to carry in a convenient manner.

•   Loved this thing! Once I forcefully pushed it into the armrest socket it worked fine (took me 2 tries to push it in far enough). Then we had unlimited power for DVD player, Ipod, Gameboy, and cell phone recharging. Great to have on a 9 hour flight. Unfortunately not every plane have the sockets.

•   People need to understand this is not a power adapter, or any type of power supply. it just changes the shape of the connector so that you can make things plug into each other.

•   This little easy-to-carry gem can really be appreciated on long flights. It's very simple to use. Wire management can be a concern in confined seats, what with power and headset leads, but this is offset by the peace of mind provided by this item. Just make the plug-ins, turn on your electronics (when permitted by the airline) and enjoy; safe in the knowledge that the device you're using (laptop, CD player, whatever) is not going to die for lack of power ... no matter how long the flight!

•   Tried it on Continental Airlines and it didn't fit the socket.

•   I purchased this little gizmo to replace my bulky power inverter. As my flight left Houton for Tokyo the empower did not work at all. One of my students purchased it also and had the same siuation. We had brought along 20 movies to watch on our DVD players. This made for a long and boring flight.

•   I bought one of these and have yet to make it work on several different Continental Airlines 777 aircraft.
