Use with North American heating appliances (up to 2000 watts) when traveling overseas where higher voltages are common.
Electrical appliances built for use in American homes may be damaged if plugged into overseas sockets. This converter reduces the high overseas voltage (220-240 volts) to the correct level for North American appliances (110-120 volts). Use for short periods with irons, hand-held dryers, hot plates etc. up to 2000 watts. Includes four most commonly used adaptor plugs - EA351A, EA351C, EA351D and EA351E.
Don't forget to visit our Country Guides to determine which socket pattern is used at your destination.
Please Note: We do not recommend using voltage converters with flat irons, as the flat iron may be damaged. A better solution is to invest in a dual voltage flat iron. These can be used anywhere with the right adaptor plugs and allow you to save weight and space in your luggage.
Switch Dual Voltage Appliances As You Pack
If you travel with dual voltage appliances that have voltage switches, flip the switches to the foreign voltage as you pack - you may not remember to when you arrive.

This converter worked like a charm when you could plug it directly into the socket as I did in France. I used it with a 1600 watt travel blow dryer. When I had to plug it into an adapter plug also, then it became too heavy and wanted to come out of the socket.
