Sport Seat and Cover
By Mary M., VA in August, 2012
I bought one of these sport seats for my husband to take to golf tournaments. He has used it several times and loves it. My son in law was a volunteer at a recent tournament we attended and thought the Sport Seat would be something that he, too, would appreciate. So we gave him one for his recent birthday! Now I think I will have to get one for myself. The cover just adds that nice little soft touch to the seat!
Great little portable seat
By Glenda H., Ellisville, MS in August, 2012
This cane/portable seat is a handy thing to have, especially when traveling. I have Multiple Sclerosis and standing for long periods is difficult and effects my overall endurance. I can now save that energy spent standing in line for tickets to use for actually seeing the attraction.
Previous Love--Current Worry
By Ann B., Fairborn, OH in May, 2012
This is the third sport seat I have ordered and received from you. The first two I used quite happily until the clamp to hold the seat closed when used as a cane wore enough that it no longer held. I find the combination seat/cane to be very handy. I just love it. However this third one seems to have a different material for the feet of the three legs. It slips on tile, polished stone, and any other smooth surface. Since I use this as a cane most of the time, it worries me. I have to set it very carefully as I walk along. I didn't have this problem before. Do you carry some rubber feet that I can put on the end of the legs? thank you. Ann Lincoln Bradfute
It stinks
By Corinna T., Chicago, IL in April, 2012
If all you need is a portable seat, there are better options. As a seat, it feels extremely unstable and unsafe. It must be straddled facing the rear, which means skirts are a problem. It isn't particularly comfortable to use as a cane. The height isn't adjustable (Luckily it was almost the right height for me). Compared to a regular cane, it feels clumsy. And worst of all, the knob at the end is slippery. With the fist step I took on a non-carpeted floor it skidded over a foot. During the remainder of the day, I was extra careful but it still skidded two more times.
Sport Seat not as I had hoped.
By Betsy P., Lincoln, NE in April, 2012
I ordered the Sport Seat hoping it would be a great help on my upcoming trip to Sweden. However, I find the seat to be much too small for comfort and a sense of security. I wish Magellan would find a product with about 2-3" more diameter. Had to send it back.
concern

I do not think you should put your name in large letters for advertisement when you are selling them...
Life Saver
By Margie B., Sebring, FL in December, 2011
I can stand only a short time before developing severe back and leg pain. This seat was wonderful for standing in line at airports and waiting to get on a cruise ship. Good to use as a cane for stability when the seas are rough on a cruise. Love It!!
Put a Cane tip on the center leg for stability.
By Mrs. S., FL in December, 2011
I bought this beauty back in 2001 and another one for my younger sister who has MS. Before the Sport Seat came into my life, I was unable to shop unless the store had an electric cart. I'm able to walk just fine, most of the time, with minimal pain, but standing longer than 3 or 4 minutes would cause severe back/buttock pain and leg weakness to the point of tears and collapse. Now I'm able to shop and travel whenever and wherever I please. Wherever I go, people ask where they can buy one. I wish I had 50 in my trunk. I'd have them all sold in a week. One thing ABOUT THE CAPS... They are slippery on certain floors. I replaced the center one with a CANE TIP which lasted for 6 years before replacing it. The other 2 caps I glued on with Household Goop from Home Depot. Also, ladies, this cane seat needs to be straddled. Some may feel more comfortable wearing slacks while using this, but I also wear mid calf or longer full skirts and am able to maintain modesty.
Sport Seat
By Darnall D., Wyomissing, PA in November, 2011
This is a great product. I've used mine for years at Boy Scout Camp. I just bought one for my wife.
good but could be better
By Carolyn O., AZ in September, 2011
It is a wonderful item, but the floor leg caps make the seat dangerous. Since they are plastic, they are quite slippery. We went to the local hardware store and changed them out for rubber leg caps. If the seat had those, I would have given it a 5 star rating.
A must have for traveling
By andrea g., westlake village, CA in July, 2011
I bought this seat to take with on a trip to Europe. I had a fractured foot and was wearing a fracture boot, making walking and standing difficult. I used the cane as an aid in going up and down stairs and inclines, and used the seat while waiting in lines, or when needing a short rest. The only drawback is the handle. It's shape does not allow for hanging on your arm when you are not using it. A rounded handle would be much better.
Sport Seat
By Linda C., Raleigh, NC in June, 2011
The lightweight cane/seat has given me the confidence to be more active. I like the light weight of it. Just knowing I have it to sit on if I need it has let me venture farther and I don't get as tired just having it to lean on even if I don't sit. It feels a little wobbly for sitting on outdoors, but has done fine on level floors and pavement.
Highly Recommend
By Barbara S., Bonneau, SC in June, 2011
The sport seat is fantastic! I recently went to Washington, D.C. and it worked beautifully. The only thing I would improve is the quality of the caps at the bottom of the legs. Next place I go the sport seat is coming with me! I had several strangers ask me on the trip where did I get that cane! I was delighted to tell them about Magellan's!
Great Aid
By Janis U., New London, TX in June, 2011
My three legged seated cain was great for my trip. It allowed me to sit when needed while we standing in line or just waiting for next event. Lots of comments from other travelers! One lady described my seat as "just smart."
good travel companion
By Anonymous, Superior, WI in June, 2011
This was just what I was looking for. As I need some help walking at times I have been in a circumstance where just finding a place to sit and rest was impossible. This will enable me to pause and rest a minute when I travel. Great asset ( no pun intended)

By Jyl L., Lake Jackson, TX in January, 2011
My Mom and her friends love to travel but have problems with walking tours and standing for long periods of time. With the seat, they can use it as a cane and then sit down when the tour guide stops to explain or if they are having to wait in a long line.

A very useful support for the elderly. Knowing that a seat is available should the person need to rest gives the confidence necessary to stay active.
Very useful.
By Sarah K., MD in October, 2010
The stool was easy to carry, easy to use in all kinds of places. Easy to take on airplanes as it is not considered part of your carry on.
A must have for those who can't walk or stand for long periods.
By JoAnn L., Honolulu, HI in October, 2010
My husband can't walk or stand for extended periods of time without sitting for a while. Having this light weight walking cane is especially great on cruise excursions (you can sit while the tour guide is speaking or when there is no where to sit), when waiting at the airports (a guaranteed seat at all times) and when in any lines. When traveling, everyone asks us where we found such a handy, sturdy and light weight aid. Fits in a overhead bin on the airplane.
Sorry we had to return the Seat
By Anonymous, Florissant, MO in October, 2010
I am a vitium of ALS (Lou Gerhig) disease and as much as I need a seat like this it had to be returned. I am unstable in walking and wobbly in my movements. I felt unsafe on the seat and wished it might have four legs. It was not so much your chair but my conditon that made this return necessary.
Sport seat
By Martha H., Cuyahoga Falls, OH in October, 2010
Seat is great and easy to use. However, it is hard and should automatically come with the seat "cushion" which would make it far more comfortable
Sport seat
By Pam R., OH in October, 2010
I purchased the sport seat for my husband, but sorry to say, the seat was too small for him. He loved it, but it just didn't work for him ( he is a large man ). I called customer service, and they directed me to the walk seat ( Item no. hw103) . The seat was returned, and we are very happy with the new seat. A special thank you, for such pleasant, knowledgable , helpful customer service agents. Very refreshing to be helped in such a pleasant way ! I would reccomend you to anyone.
Perfect
By Richard W., La Jolla, CA in July, 2010
We bought this item because, while we have no problem walking, standing around waiting or listening to tour guides is painful to our backs. This sport seat allows us to sit comfortably. Easy to carry. We love it.
It's a Sport Seat but also a Medical Aid
By Karen M., CA in July, 2010
I bought this seat for my aunt who is a bit wobbly and has difficulty breathing if walking a distance. When I take her shopping, she uses it as a cane and when needed, stop for a few minutes while having her own seat. Great item!!
A Life Saver
By Harriet O., West Simsbury, CT in July, 2010
I have used this seat for traveling since 1998. It is helpful for resting when in long lines at the airport or in a museum, and can be used as a substitute for a cane when walking. My old one disappeared in Amsterdam this June, so I ordered a second one for future travels.

Sport Seat
By Diane V., Chester, NS in June, 2010
This is an excellent product and highly recommended. I just returned from Russia where the walking was excessive, lines long and the fatigue quotient high. This little seat and cane combo was the thing that kept me going. Thanks to Magellan for their foresight in their product choices and quality.
Handy, lightweight seat

A handy little seat, for grandkids soccer and T-ball games.
Sport Seat Useful
By Don F., Santa Ana, CA in May, 2010
I took this Sport Seat on a River trip to Europe last year and found it quite useful during the off ship walking tours along the way. A good cane and restfull seat. One of the rubber leg tips came off after I was home and Magellan readily replaced it. Now I've misplaced the original Seat and have bought a replacement. At under $30 they are a bargain! Highly recommended!
Great Item
By Karen L., St. Petersburg, FL in May, 2010
I have this Sport Seat for many years. It is wonderful and easy to help getting on and off rides at parks. I have used it for waiting in line to vote on different elections. I have traveled with it to several states in the USA and some European countries. Great product. Thank you for supplying it to the public.
Excellent value. Very useful
By Marc C., CA in March, 2010
I bought this last month for a trip which I am now on, and using it almost every day. As part of a group tour to Israel, we have gone to many places where the guide will talk for a long time. Sometimes there are rocks to sit on, but found the sports seat much easier to set up and use, even on uneven ground. As a walking aid, I wish it was 1-2 inches taller as I am 6 ft, but it definitely works fine for the purpose for which I intended it. Also, Thanks for getting this to me so quickly.
sport seat is wonderful
By Donna S., CA in March, 2010
I received my first one as a gift from someone who had one. I ordered a second one because my hubby wanted one too. They are great.

I took off the plastic leg bottems . I replaced them with 3/4 rubber bottems. Because on a smooth serface the plastic slips to easy. Now it is a 5 star.
Sport Seat for Tired Travellers
By Rafael D., san Juan, PR in February, 2010
The sport seat is light, comfortable to carry or use as walking support. It's real value is during long walks when you need to sit and rest and no benches are in sight. The packaging was under par and arrived partially opened.
Portable
By Jil o., AZ in January, 2010
This is our second sport seat. We love using them for watching golf matches here in Tucson.
Unexpected comfort
By Mitzi M., Fairfax Station, VA in December, 2009
Although I have not yet taken the sport seat on a trip (have booked one in the Spring) I was impressed with the comfort. It certainly does not look comfortable, but when I sat in the recommended posistion - with the handle in front - I was happily surprised.
SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT OF SPORT SEAT
By LEILA H., CHICAGO, IL in November, 2009
The "cushions" on the legs are very flimsy and wear out rapidly. They needed to be replaced with sturdy, heavy duty ones we purchased at various hardware supply houses. The seat is a bit small ... but otherwise I LOVE the sport seat. Especially helpful for arthritic people who are unable to stand in lines. Frequently it has helped being noticed by people in charge of long lines who have moved me up front for faster service. A bow, tied to the curve of the handle, pretties it up!
Very satisfied customers
By Penny G., Ottawa, ON in October, 2009
I am absolutely delighted with my Sport Seat. I had been looking for something like this for some time but nothing seemed to be available until I spotted this item in your catalogue. The Sport Seat is light, sturdy and easy to open. My husband thought it was so useful that he now has one, too. So we have his and hers. Now standing in line-ups no longer presents a problem for us, the seats really are a great help.
convenient for people with back, leg, foot problems
By Karen P., St.Thomas, US in August, 2009
I just received the sport seat and so far it is working very well.-it is very light and can also be used as a cane when walking. it is suprisingly comfortable when you sit on it correctly with the handle in front of you!
Great product.

I ordered this sport seat for a good friend and it made him very happy. My husband and I both have them and they are wonderful. Thank you. We recently used them at a outside memorial service; so handy!

Sport seat was very lightweight and easy to carry and use. The seat is rather small for extended time of use.
back relief
By mary s., sun city, AZ in July, 2009
I have only used this once since I purchased it. I brought it for a cruise that I will be taking shortly. I think it is just great for people that have a hard time standing any length of time. The only request that I would have is that the seat be larger. Otherwise great product .
Just What I Need!!!
By Tim G., Thomaston, GA in June, 2009
Since back surgery, the neuropathy in my feet has worsened and it's almost unbearable to stand for any period of time. I just got my Sport Seat today...WOW!!! I can see that this product is something that I will never be without. I've only had it one day so far, but Yes, It's a product that is going to be very handy to have around when I'm needing to be in long lines, or when i go somewhere that requires some time to stand for periods of time. WOW!!! It's Just What I've EVER Needed!!!
No longer homebound
By Mrs S., FL in June, 2009
Prior to buying my Sport Seat I was homebound (felt like a shut-in at 45 years old!). I was unable to walk very far without needing to sit and rest and am unable to stand in lines. I feel free!!! My Sport Seat enabled my husband and I to take a 2 week trip to Israel and numerous other trips to visit family in other states. It is a pleasure to use in airports and it is a medical aid, so it isn't counted as a carry on. If I had bought 10 sport seats, I could have sold them several times over.
A TREAT ITEM!
By Don F., Santa Ana, CA in May, 2009
All of Magellan's claims are true. I just used it for a three week trip in northern Europe and it's Wonderful. I'm 76 years old, 6' 2", 245 lbs. It works like a charm and is still just like new. Highly recommended! I' d give it more than 5 Stars if I could!
A wonderful invention!
By Susan G., Livingston, MT in May, 2009
I never take time to write reviews of products, but I feel compelled to do so here. I love this sport seat! I have arthritis in my knees. Walking isn't too bad, but standing is difficult, as is climbing stairs without a rail. I bought this for my trip-of-a-lifetime to Israel and Egypt. I used this as a cane, especially on stairs and uneven ground, and everytime the guide stopped to talk, I sat down. I don't think I would have made it without my sports seat! I rigged a strap so I could carry it over my shoulder. I highly recommend this product!
The greatest
By Jim S., Redondo Beach, CA in May, 2009
This is the device that makes touring possible for me. I do ok with walking at a reasonable pace but the "Museum Crawl", or standing just kills my back. With the sport seat I can always take a break in the museum or sit when the tour guide stops to talk. Without it the pain is too great to endure. Because the airlines class it as a medical assistance device I carry it on board without any extra charges. Nor does it count against "carry on" luggage. It also often gets me a seat on the local transportation buses and trains.I have used other similar seats, some much more expensive, but none are as good as yours. Thank You Magellans, for a marvelous device.
Good news for TALL people
By Lita M., San Antonio, TX in May, 2009
My husband is 6'4' and the cane part isn't tall enough for him to use as a walking aid. After contemplating a homemade hack job to solve the situation, I was delighted to find on the bottom of the seat that it is made in the good old USA--in Dallas! I found them on the internet, called and was greeted by wonderfully personalized help. I custom ordered a Sport Seat with a taller cane for a mere $5 over the regular price!! The seat height remains the same (standard). Oh how I wish we had these as we waited in the gruelingly long line at the Vatican Museum last October. Hubby has used his several times with appreciation as he has spinal stenosis. I will send our yet unused one to my cousin in Sweden who has health problems, but does like to stroll. Can't wait to get the TALL one! They'll definitely go on our future travels. Ladies--as straddling is the correct way to sit on the Sport Seat, it is best used with slacks.

Keep you balance
By Bil H., CA in February, 2009
The Seat is very much as I expected. One should be careful sitting down though. The best approach is to slide down the handle -- you want the handle at tight in your crouch as you can get it -- otherwise you risk falling backward.
My sister
By josie t., phoenix, AZ in February, 2009
I purchased two products after a total stranger in a museum noticed me sitting holding on to a 'tennis ball' walker due to a temporary situation while my family enjoyed the experience of the museum. He said , "when you graduate from that thing, go to Magellan.com. They have a wonderful seated walker, which folds, and is extremely useful and comfortable to use. I have traveled all over Europe with that thing, and honestly, you will love it. I ordered and It is wonderful ! Truly wonderful.

The folding seat cane=sport seat
By Anonymous, Nubieber, CA in November, 2008
This is the best item and the most useful cane I have ever had. I have to stop and sit down to get off my feet, legs and back-often and this is the answer. I have people ask me about it all the time. I got mine the first time from the "Sky Mall" magazine on the plane about 7 years ago and now I have ordered more as I need to keep one in each car. I always take it with me when I go shopping or walking anywhere so that I can sit when I need to.
sport seat review
By Iris M., Pullman, WA in November, 2008
This seat has been a back-saver for my husband (one big guy-300 lbs) whose back problems prevent him from standing or walking for any length of time. He's used this while in line at the airport, on tours, grandson's baseball games and any place where there are not seats for him to sit. It folds up compactly and the airlines allow him to carry it on board.
