Good quality - sizing a little off
By Chris H., South River, ON in September, 2011
We were anxious to get our jackets as we had ordered one for my wife and one for myself (a small and medium) for our trip to Europe. Unfortunately the small and medium were both tight through the mid section and I have nothing there to make it so. In the end my wife took the medium, although long in the sleeves and my daughter took the small. Disappointed but recognized the value and the usefulness of the product.
Sent it back, regretfully
By Anne D., ID in September, 2011
I have another Scottevest jacket and fleece, so I looked forward to the packable windbreaker. As with the other Scottevest products, I'm between sizes; however, the fit of this jacket is so obviously male, that neither of the sizes worked at all for me. I'm hoping that the good folks at Scottevest will realize that a lot of gals would like this jacket, designed with a woman's figure in mind...and with a variety of nice colors too!

It was just what I needed for the cool weather in Alaska. Loved all the pockets to keep my camra, cell phone, and other essetials for the trip. Would recomend it for all travelers..
Scottsvest
By Ellen R., Rochester, NY in July, 2011
I loved the jacket, but my prefered color was not available and was not backordered.
Versatile
By Joseph M., Steamboat Springs, CO in June, 2011
This is a versatile product. With the many pockets, you can carry everything without being bulky. With the windbreaker aspect and hood, it works in a variety of weather situations.
Windbreaker by Scottevest
By Mary C., Vienna, VA in May, 2011
I bought this for my husbands birthday. I have a Scottevest vest with the 22 pockets. I was disappointed that the windbreaker didn't have as many pockets as I thought it was supposed to have. You also said to order a size larger. I returned the windbreaker that I had ordered for myself in a size larger, because it was too large.
Great Travel Windbreaker
By Daniel E., Frankfort, KY in May, 2011
This is a great travel windbreaker. It looks nice, has quality construction, more pockets than you'll ever use or need, and it folds into itself to form a nice little pillow or for easy packing. They tend to run small in size, for pay attention to the advice about ordering one size larger than you usually would.
Unbelievably practical!!!
By Martina G., La Vergne, TN in March, 2011
I love this windbreaker. It fits great, is light-weight, and so practical with all it's pockets. Great for hiking, biking, walking, running, etc. Couldn't have made a better choice. Fits true to size and is well worth the money! I am one happy customer!
Better than I expected
By Wendy R., Sturgis, SD in March, 2011
I bought this for my 19-year-old son for a trip to London. This windbreaker has so many great features I don't know where to begin. My son loves the way you can route headphones up through the collar. Each pocket has its own purpose and functions well. After buying this he decided he didn't need a backpack for the flight. It is incredibly light, & actually fits easily back in its own self-storing pocket. We would recommend this to anyone.
Hot Stuff
By Tracey W., Atlanta, GA in March, 2011
I ordered and received this item for my daughter's trip to Scotland. She got great service out of it and we were both impressed with all the pockets and being able to re-pack it after use. Wish we had two. Great purchase, good service and quality merchandise.
Love it!
By Sandra B., Newport, RI in January, 2011
Great roomy windbreaker with plenty of room for all the junk I like to carry with me when traveling, but not in a purse or backpack.
Light jacket
By Karen B., Tucson, AZ in January, 2011
Very good wind breaker a must have for travel or home can be worn over a sweater to give added warmth for places that do not go below 40 degrees. protects against a light rain. Holds a lot even a i Pad.
Great little Windbreaker
By John N., Arlington, TX in November, 2010
As advertised more pockets than I know what to do with. I wear it to work and out in about and able carry everything i need. If you use all the pockets it can get heavy but most of us would never need to that. My next test is to wear it on my next flight to Las vegas I will updated how that goes.
Great windbreaker!
By Marne M., CA in November, 2010
I bought this for my husband who hates to wear any type of jacket but I surprised him with this one. He absolutely loves the quality and lightness of the jacket, and all the inner pockets hold everything he needs to carry with him; so now when he goes for his early morning walk, he wears his jacket happily. Perfect in the rain, too.
pockets?
By jody b., indian trail, NC in October, 2010
i purchased this windbreaker to avoid having to carry a purse around as I tour Northern Italy in late October. I was impressed by the utilities of the advertised pockets. My daughter and I tried to count the pockets to arrive at the same total advertised, but i haven't yet found them all. Does a hole measuring 1.5 by 1.5 inches count as a pocket? And why do I need two? Two "pockets" measure 3.5 by 1.5 inches. good for a pen, but two?
Comfortable and warm
By Diane K., CO in September, 2010
I was able to put a lot in the pockets of this jacket. Even my IPad, in the Apple case fit into one of the pockets. I think it was still pretty obvious that I had a lot of stuff in the pockets and it got a little heavy once I had about 3 lbs of stuff scattered in the pockets.
My son loved it
By Sheila M., Red Deer, AB in August, 2010
Well, I thought that this would be the first item I ever returned - but my son came home, tried it on, emptied his pockets of all his gadgets, put them all in the jacket, and asked if I had bought it for him. He loved it. He lives in a city and takes the C-Train to work and with this jacket all his "stuff" is safely hidden. It fits him well, looks good. Warm enough to walk half an hour at night, AND water proof. Light weight too. Awesome indeed. Glad that I procrastinated in returning it. :-)
What a packable jacket should be
By Michael C., Barre, VT in August, 2010
When I started looking for a lightweight jacket that was rainproof, I looked at several in stores. Royal Robin was ok, but the hood in the collar didn't roll and stow well. Northface had the hood problem, few pockets, not packable and very overpriced. Having heard good things about Scottvest, I ordered this. It is great! Just what a lightweight jacket should be, and it even packs into it's own pouch! Lots of pockets, a decent collar, and great price. Order up a size up.
Magellan for every day not just for travel.
By richard r., san francisco, CA in August, 2010
I just bought the packable Windbreaker by Scottevest which I bought for its many pockets and light weight. I'm a long time customer and I'm, as usual, very pleased. It's especially difficult for men to find jackets with enough pockets. I also have your waterproof Travel jacket with it's many pockets and I wear it every day. Your Customer Service is excellent.
What a jacket!
By Greg S., Mission Viejo, CA in July, 2010
Recently purchased this for summer business trips to eastern Europe. Took me a while to find all the pockets, but this jacket has got it all covered. It certainly holds EVERYTHING, but I think the greatest feature is the earphone routing system-no more tangled earphones stuffed in a pocket only to emerge a rats' nest! No bulges, looks great, and packs like a charm. Maybe a little warm for hot summer weather, but that just means I'll have to get the vest!
Happy
By Chris O., Honolulu, HI in July, 2010
My husband has not worn it yet but was very happy with the weight and construction of the garment. It will be great for traveling, I'm sure!
a little disappointed
By Janet D., WV in July, 2010
I loved the pockets and construction but it was too small. I''d love to see some women's jackets that are built for women with curves .. it was tight in the hips.
Convenient, light weight, versatile
By Beverly K., Reston, VA in July, 2010
This jacket has taken me on a three week visit to very varied climates and performed perfectly. With all the pockets, I sometimes had to search for the right one to find what I wanted, but I knew it was there someplace! In the hot climate I could roll it up very small into its pocket and take it along, and in the cooler weather places it was just what I needed. It went through a number of airport checks with ease and spared me a bulky carryon tote bag. It kept off the sea breeze at night.
Best Shopping Aid
By Carmie P., Homosassa, FL in July, 2010
I love to shop wherever I'm traveling, and lugging a purse is such a drag...literally ! I just put on this jacket, with enough pockets to hide all my credit cards, plus my Passport and cell phone, and I'm free to shop 'til I drop ! Also, there's room to stow a small umbrella, so I can keep on shopping even in the rain. This is a wonderful product.
Vancouver is known for it's rainy weather
By Jan m., Burnaby, BC in July, 2010
I bought a size larger than I would usually wear and this was a great idea as,I can layer under the jacket and forgo a purse as there are so many pockets. Very happy with this rainjacket !
Great Travel Gear
By Mike L., NC in July, 2010
This jacket is awesome. It's like Christmas every time I put it on and find a new pocket. Size is a little small/cut trim so you may want to go up a size from your normal, especially if you plan to load up the pockets. I bought this before a trip to Poland that forced me to travel on Ryan Air. This was like having a second carry-on; great for going through security too. Make it in Gortex and I'm really sold
Very nice windbreaker
By Matthew H., Seattle, WA in June, 2010
The Scottevest Packable Windbreaker is a very functional garment that not only has plenty of pockets for holding your items (I can fit my iPad, iPod Touch, Digital Camera, Cellphone, and associated charging cords/plugs in it with no issue) it is also extremely comfortable to wear and, when not in use, can fold into itself for convenient storage.
Everything advertised - and more!
By karen d., MO in June, 2010
Really, really lives up to its advertising. Stylish and comfortable to boot. There are so many handy, comfortable storage options - from itty-bitty items to bulky, weighty ones. You don't feel like you are transporting your necessities, rather they are just conveniently available when you need them without stressing. A great addition to the traveler's wardrobe.
Versatile Windbreaker
By Diana P., AB in June, 2010
This is the best windbreaker I have come across anywhere. It is feather light with with a hidden hood & multiple pockets for any items one might need. This fantastic feature eliminates the need to carry anything else and everything is secured by zippers or velcro without looking bulky. This is a perfect travel companion for any circumstance. I won't leave home without it !
Complete
By Patricia B., Memphis, TN in June, 2010
They have thought of everything for this jacket. Completely meets every need. It is wonderful!
Packable Windbreaker
By Joyce K., Pittsboro, NC in June, 2010
I ordered a windbreaker for my daughter and for me. My son-in-law liked it so much that I had to order one more windbreaker. Everything the ad said about the windbreaker is true. It is light, has many wonderful pockets , it is extremely comfortable to wear while offering excellent protection.
lightweight spring/ summer jacket w/loads of pockets!
By joann b., chicago, IL in May, 2010
love the jacket! perfect weight for spring/ summer. fits great, lots of pockets and the built-in hood comes in handy.
Very nice; however,...
By Curtis A. W., Terre Haute, IN in April, 2010
A very nice jackets with ingenious pockets; however, it could benefit with ventilation in the armpits and maybe on the back. I found my arms sweating after 30 minutes of biking. The sleeves became very wet.
Incompatible with Motorola Droid
By Susan K., OR in April, 2010
I was intrigued when I first read about this jacket - until I came to the warning about magnetic closures making it potentially incompatible with an implanted pacemaker. When I bought my Motorola Droid smartphone I was warned that I must never put it near anything magnetic or it might crash. I don't know if other smartphones would also be vulnerable - owners may want to check prior to purchasing this.
Great jacket!
By Mary W., Amory, MS in April, 2010
Purchased this jacket for my trip to Greece. The weather in March is rainy and cool. The jacket kept me dry and warm without being bulky. It fits great. I was able to carry all my personal items in my jacket because of all the great pockets which made it great for safety and security while riding the bus, train and subway in Athens.
Exactly what I was looking for.
By Peggy D., Grants Pass, OR in February, 2010
This is a great jacket -- well constructed, light weight, and comfortable. And, of course, the pockets! They provide lots of options, and could easily illiminate the need for a small carry-on bag. Great find!
The Only Jacket You'll Ever Need
By Elliot M., Galveston, TX in November, 2009
The jacket looks great and fits great. It is warm, has more pockets than I know what to do with, and it folds up into pouch.
Early review
By Nancy L., Amesbury, MA in June, 2009
I unpacked the jacket from its pocket, and I'm hoping I can get it together again (I haven't tried yet). The fit was fine and the jacket should keep me dry in a wet climate.
What I was looking for
By William L., TX in May, 2009
I have yet to use the windbreaker. But has all the features I was looking for. I was really looking for loads of pockets. But Houstons weather this time of year a windbreaker is not used very often.

Comfy & Convenient
By Arlene W., Delta, BC, BC in May, 2009
I was looking for a light weight jacket to pack that would travel well and also work for hiking and kayaking. This Windbreaker fits the bill. It is very comfortable; I love all the pockets and it doesn't take any room in my suitcase or dry bag. It's simply great!!!
