Pack-It™ Specter Cube

The Specter packing cubes are amazingly lightweight. I visited my local Magellan's to have a hands-on experience of the various packing accessories and I was surprised at how heavy they all were, except for the Specter products. I bought two packing cubes, the full size ones, and loaded them with rolled-up clothes that evening. I filled one with sort-of-dressy clothes (we're going on a cruise#, and the other with casual clothes. The super-lightweight Specter fabric is also super tough so you can stuff them really full. I placed a shoe on each side of the bag, a filled mesh pocket in the middle, and then dropped in the two fully loaded Specter bags which filled my Eagle Creek 22" Crossroads Upright. There are crevices left in the suitcase for the rest of the set of lightweight mesh pockets #Stowaway, old model) I bought, toiletries, and shoes. I can see how the Specter bags would also be excellent for backpacks and duffel bags when you don't want to add additional weight to your load. They really are practically weightless and I recommend them highly.

I was a bit skeptical about purchasing this item, because my experience with packing cubes is that they end up using too much space themselves--and because of the price. But I decided to try it, because on my most recent trip I was bringing some special items I wanted to separate from the rest of my baggage. I was able to pack a full-length dress, a lightweight cardigan, a pair of shoes in a shoe bag, a clutch purse (also in a protective bag), and matching jewelry in a small travel case all in this whisper-thin bag. When I was getting ready for our evening out, everything was at my fingertips, and I didn't have to worry about any of these special items getting damaged or mislaid either before or after the event. Although I'm still not crazy about the typical packing cube, I'm definitely a believer in the Specter Cube!
