Magellan's Women's Support Trouser Socks

Socks are good quality; but sized wrong. Don't have much stretch. I thought they looked fine in the package, but upon opening, I soon learned they would be a problem. I inserted my hand and arm, which are thin and could barely pull them up to my elbow.

I usually purchase the TravelSmith woman's travel socks, which are silky and have give and are sized correctly. Magellan does have the other sock, which I might order; but these won't work when you have to fight to put them on.

Too bad, because they are a good quality.

I've worn these socks on two long (8+ hours) flights and for a couple lengthy days of coach travel. With the sock, I experienced minimal foot and ankle swelling. The only drawback: the sizing is wrong. I purchased the large size as I take a size 8 shoe. Foot too big and the leg too long. I could take care of the foot by pulling the heel up, but I had to carefully fold down the top of the sock leg so it wasn't digging into my knee or leg.

These socks were attractive, and really did keep my foot from swelling. They were comfortable once on, but they were a challenge to get on. My size was correct but I really had to tug and coax to get the on.

Product looks good but sizing is way off. I wear a size 8 shoe and so bought size L the socks are about 1 to 1 1/2 inches to long in the foot. They are going back.

I bought these for the design - looks like a trouser sock. I fly up to 6 times a week for work and spend my work week on my feet. I am fairly tall and have always had very muscular calves. I got these on my feet and over my ankles but there was no way that they were going up my leg - I ended up folding the top back down towards the ankle (as a quarter sock), which worked ok but not worth it for what I paid.

I have purchased many different types of socks or sleeves to help leg swelling when traveling. These socks are not too bulky and don't bunch up at the ankle. They are really wonderful.

These socks are very attractive and did the job on a long flight. They truly did prevent the swollen ankles I have experienced on past long flights.

Earlier versions of these socks that I have seen looked institutional. Not these. There is a dainty design making them look like fashion stockings. I just returned from a trip to Europe and these socks were perfect! My feet and legs did not swell and I was just all around more comfortable. I will never fly without wearing these again!

I REALLY wanted to like these socks, but must admit my defeat to them. The material is nice, as is the design, but unless you have an assistant to help you put them on--forget it! I am not an obese person, and I used some common sense in ordering the right size (after reading previous reviews). That said . . . I have packaged these socks for return to Magellan's. I understand that compression socks must be tight to be effective for DVT, but these socks are insanely tight around the ankle. If you can get them past that point, you've got the battle won. My husband and I used our four hands to put my socks on, and even that was VERY difficult. Once on, they felt good, but I will be traveling solo this fall, and can't afford the expense of a second person along simply to help me put on my compression socks. I am in the minority with this negative review, but I would still think twice before ordering this particular pair of socks. Caveat emptor!

Great support and goes with everything. I wear them with my dress flat shoes and heels. I have all 3 colors.

Just returned from Mexico for a medical mission and wore the socks on the long days of flight travel at the beginning and end of my trip. Loved how my legs did not swell and felt very comfortable all day. Would really like to get another pair in white which was not available at the time of ordering. Thank you for comfortable legs!

I love the bubble toe. Other support stockings I have worn feel tighter and tighter on the toes as the day goes on. With these I never feel the need to take off my shoes and pull the toe looser. I wear these every day, not just for travel. My only complaint is with the color choices. There should be more. And what they call "tan" is actually cream.

Sock worked well as compression sock, and looks nice. But the foot is best for size 9 ladies foot (probably a B width), and not fit so well for my size 8 (and C width) foot.

I travel back and forth to the east coast from Oregon several times per month. My feet always swell and hurt after the long flights. I wore these on both "legs" of my trip and what a difference, no swelling and my feet didn't feel tired when I got off the plane. Exceeded my expectations!

I started buying this type of sock because of the indentions left in my legs at the end of the day. These were the first I found that were over the calf style. I just love them!

The socks are very tight -- which is what they are designed to be -- but the foot of the small sock is way out of proportion to the rest of the sock. Folding under an inch at the toes or letting the heel ride up the back of the foot should not be necessary and is rather uncomfortable in a sock that costs as much as this one. I had ordered two based on the reviews but returned them.

This is my second order of these socks. Not a replacement, just a second color. I have been very pleased with these socks even on a seventeen hour flight.

Wearing these socks have added five minutes to my dressing time of a morning, but once on, the compression really feels good. I plan to wear them on a flight to Sydney.

They fit great and feel good too. Hopefully the support is working.

I fly to Paris each summer and this time I wore these socks. For the first time, with the support of the socks I felt none of the restlessness in my legs and tiredness I usually go through. These socks felt comfortable, and totally enhanced my trip in a good way. I'll never fly without them on again!

I purchased these travel socks for my husband and myself for traveling long distances on airplanes.( back and forth to Europe) so far they are very comfortable easy to put on and wash out and dry quickly.

For support stockings, these look very nice and work splendidly. I took two pairs on a two-week trip and washed out a pair each night. They dried quickly and helped me keep moving!

I have been wearing these socks for years for any flight longer than an hour. They really do help tremendously to avoid swelling in the air and make you feel better in general. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that they are quite tricky to put on, but once on are very comfortable and don't look any different from regular trouser socks. They also wash and dry well by hand in the hotel sink.

Usually, I have a lot of swelling in the legs and feet on an 11 hour plane ride. With these stockings, I had none! They were a life saver. I recommend them!!

This was the first time I've tried compression socks for travel, and they were great! We had a long haul to southern Africa, but I had no leg swelling or cramping.

Slightly difficult to get on, but very comfortable and did the job on long flight to Europe.

Great support hose. Wide, non-constricting calf; great under trousers for travel and home use.

Wore these on a three hour flight to see how comfortable they were. Wound up wearing them all day. They were comfortable but the band did start to dig into my leg toward the end of the day. Length of foot is way too long; had lots of extra material I had to spread over my foot and stuff into my shoe. hard to get on but okay once they are on.

I just flew back from Rome after a great trip with Amber Roads Tour of central Italy. I bought the travel socks to use to reduce the edema I had gotten from previous shorter flights. They worked very well. They were hard to put on, but well worth the effort. I wore them on the tour bus, but we had a small group and short rides so I did not really need the compression. They were comfortable and washed and dried easily though so I used them as socks along the way.

I just returned from a trip to Europe. I wore the support socks while flying. They really helped reduce swelling in my legs. They were difficult to put on because they fit snuggly but felt terrific while I was wearing them. From now on I won't fly without them!

These are more or less what I expected and are a nice product. Quite comfortable and easy to care for. I feel they need a little more stretchiness as I find them harder to put on than my other support socks. Good overall

If you are going to fly coach and get off the plane feeling like you flew business you need these socks! You can go to sleep and wake without your legs aching or feeling like you have even been in plane.

I wore these socks on my trip to Europe. I come every year in my work to Madrid, Spain and usually my feet swell badly. Well, I used these socks for the first time on my trip this past September 19, 2009 and when I removed them, there was no swelling. I was pleasantly amazed and look forward to using them again and again. I had to pull them on but it was not too difficult and the socks were very comfortable. I was glad not to have to worry about swelling

I bought these for the plane ride since I have circulation problems and they were ok, but I liked the previous silk ones better.

These socks are a little hard to put on, but feel very comfortable once in place. These would probably not fit a person with large legs, however. I ordered these to wear on a long air flight and for the peace of mind that they would aid in circulation and the prevention of blood clots. I have laundered them and they look new.

I wore these socks on two overseas flights. They felt very comfortable. I did not have the usual restless feeling in my legs and, at the end of the day, was really glad I had worn them.

I'm pregant and just returned from an international trip.Boy, these socks were a MUST! And not only for the flight itself but also for those days where my legs just wouldn't carry me.I would wake up with leg pain /cramps and have my husband help me put on these socks and wonder of wonders,the pain would completely disappear after a while of wearing these amazing socks.So, get them if your'e pregnant and have leg circulation problems and definitely get them if you're gonna be traveling and tend to have leg discomforts.Enjoy!!

I wore these on 2 trans atlantic flights and had no swelling. They were comfortable and performed very well.

These socks are just great for travel, and I would wear them for everyday also. They are comfortable and non-binding (very important for a long flight). They have an attractive pattern, and they don't look like support socks. You feel the graduated support; very comfortable. I wore them from Minneapolis to London, with a connection in Chicago, a journey of 12-13 hours each way, and the socks were just as comfortable on arrival as they were the moment I put them on. I highly recommend.

After wearing these on a recent flight I had no edema in my ankles for the first time in many years. They work like magic and are comfortable.
