Perfect travelling purse - I travel with one carryon case (which holds 1-3 weeks of necessities) and this purse! It holds my iphone (front pocket), my camera (inside pocket) and e-reader (main inside area) - and is not bulky due to the ingenious layout, my passport, money, credit cards, etc - in short, all the necessities I want near me on the plane.

I had to order it in red, I've seen it come & go in a khaki colour, but I keep checking to see if it's ever available in black!!!
I use this purse daily too... it keeps me organized!
I have had my eye on this handbag for quite a while. When I found them on sale I jumped at the chance to buy it. I love the organization, especially having a pocket for my cell phone on the outside. The other zippered pocket was great for keys, lipstick etc. Inside there are tons of pockets including a zippered one and a cute little light to help me find items when it is dark outside. I especially like the vertical credit card pockets. It makes it so easy to get my cards in and out when needed. This is a relatively small bag, but it suits my purposes just dandy. Love the security features of slash proof strap and body. I had a little difficulty with using the zipper catch, but figure if it is a little hard for me, maybe it would deter someone from trying to get into my purse!

I bought this purse for a trip to Europe. It was great. I had a place for my e-reader, my small change, my phone on the outside of the bag. The inside held my money, passport, brush, lipstick, kleenex, credit cards, keys and sunglasses. The bag can be worn across the body for sightseeing. It was a great purse. I then used it everyday back at home and seldom use another purse. Too bad they have eliminated the black color. I think they may stop making this purse. Too bad.

I guess I was hoping this would hold more for the size/weight, but in reality it seems to be just for a few basics. Plan on slipping the two or three cards you need in the slots, phone on the outside, reading or sunglasses without the case in an inside pouch, a pen or pencil in the "pocket" for it. Your eReader in a cover will fit as well, but probably not much else. If you have a paper map, that will fit on the outside. A wallet will fit inside if you don't want to take anything else. This is not the bag to use if you have lots of things you need to take. For me, it doesn't really seem to hold all the basics that I need as well as I would have liked.

It seems very secure, a good size, and will fit most things I need without being too big...Looks nice but kind of a sheen - the walnut color is kind of a golden color which is nice. I do wonder, however, how I would clean it if it got dirty . The Magellan security bags now have a sheen to them (both vault pro and citysafe) with a finish that reminds me of sturdy umbrella fabric . I prefer the old fabrics which were "flat" colors with more of a tight woven texture, but this is still a nice bag.
(Posted on 8/9/12)
It's the best bag I've ever had. It is so easy to find everything inside, and it holds everything I need, even sunglasses and two sets of keys. It's small and light to carry and gives me a sense of security from theft.

Excellent buy and such a great item for traveling or everyday use. Was really happy with my purchase and bought some for gifts also.

great sale price; product smaller than expected

I love this so much that I continue to use it for everyday. I can fit my nook, gps, phone, ipod. medicine and everything I need. I love that it is so organized and I can safely grab a credit card without taking out a wallet. I just wish it had a place for currency.

Bought this bag for our 3 week trip to Europe. I went back and forth about which bag to buy, too small? too big? It's hard, but this was just right! I felt completely comfortable traveling around with this bag. It held my Iphone, camera, tissues, credit cards, money, passport, tickets...in short everything I needed. I highly recommend it.

I think this bag is great for the trip I am going on. Just the right size and has a world of security. You won't be disappointed. Buy this bag.

I purchased three of these reinforced purses for our trip to Barcelona--one for me and one each for my two daughters. They were just great. The size was perfect for essentials (including my small pocket camera) and yet we all felt safer with the reinforced mesh and strong straps. Perfect traveling companions that we will use over and over on other travels.

I love these bags of which I now have two. I use it all the time because it has such great dividers and zippers. I know where everything is with "NO" digging. I'm able to slide in my reader and phone with ease. One other thing I really like is the cross body carry which makes me feel safe (as I won't forget it and set it somewhere) and gives me freedom of movement with my hands free at all times to take care of other things. LOVE IT!!
(Posted on 6/7/12)
In general, this purse has everything I was looking for. Love all the zip pockets and the adjustable strap. My only complaint is that the purse absolutely has to be worn across the body. The strap is so slippery that I can't use it just as a shoulder bag because it falls right off. It splatted right on the floor at the grocery store -- embarrassing!

I purchased this bag in black for a trip to France last year. Was a bit concerned that it might not be quite big enough--but it did fine. I think one of the best things was being able to eliminate a separate wallet (which tends to be heavy). There are just enough "pockets" to accommodate what I need and help keep me organized. Although I bought the bag initially for travel (we travel a lot), I now use it as my everyday pocket book. It's so much lighter and puts less strain on my shoulder. I like it so much that I just bought the same bag in red.

Wanted a nice shoulder purse for travel. Style is nice, but because the purse body lacks depth (width?) contents can spill out. Shoulder strap does not stay in desired position. Adjustments slip. I will use it, but had hoped for better.
(Posted on 2/13/12)
I did enjoy my purse until the stitching in the strap failed leaving me with a strapless handbag. Except for that it was a good bag.
(Posted on 2/8/12)
I had the same issue as one of the previous reviewers...The end of the strap without the metal ring came unsewn while I was shopping in a market place in Zimbabwe. Thankfully, I had needle and thread and was able to sew it together (sort of), but I ruined 3 needles and I just don't trust the bag any longer. If it weren't for that problem, I would rate it my best travel purse so far. Considering that this is not an inexpensive item, I am planning to request a refund or exchange.
(Posted on 2/4/12)
The bag is of very good quality, strong and durable, confortable for a woman that doesn't need too much space. I personally would rather preferred it a little larger. A larger bag with this making would be the perfect one!
(Posted on 2/2/12)
I like everything about this purse, except that the fabric is so stiff. Particularly noticeable on the strap - probably because of the security features. I wanted something a little larger than my usual purse, so that I could carry my glasses. The size is perfect.
(Posted on 1/12/12)
I bought this item for my girlfriend for Christmas. It closely resembles the Baggallini purses she carries winter and summer, so pretty safe. No?. However, the concept of an armored purse was lost on her and its resemblance to the Baggallini made her think there was nothing novel about it. Considering that her purse was picked in Rome literally weeks before, it seemed a tad shortsighted. Such is life.

My black VaultPro bag has indeed become my everyday bag. It neatly holds the necessities while still being small enough to stay light. On a recent flight, it tucked nicely next to me in my seat. Minor quibbles: the outside pocket doesn't quite fit my iPhone in its case and the steel security feature in the strap stiffens the strap a bit so that it doesn't stay put when carried across or over the shoulder.
(Posted on 1/5/12)
This purse is just the right size for me. It has enough pockets and zippers for all my everyday needs and it is compact enough to wear without even noticing it is there. The pocket in front is the perfect size for my iPhone. The pocket in back is convenient to store all my ATM receipts. The kaki color I ordered is a nice medium brown that goes with most everything. The strap is easily adjustable. I wear it across my chest so I don't have to worry about it falling off my shoulder.
(Posted on 1/5/12)
I just purchased my 3rd of these purses. This one is different. Shorter slipper on the top, so it is much harder to get into the main section. The inside pockets are smaller. I attempted to move items from my older purse to this one, into the same pockets, and the items didn't fit.Unfortunately, many of the former great features are not so great now. Still has some good features, however.
(Posted on 1/4/12)
The first one I bought my daughter fell in love with so I had to buy another for myself. It is the perfect size for everything I need. I would recommend this bag very highly. Thank you.

I was really happy with this purse for the first three days of my trip to Thailand. The end of the strap without the metal ring came unsewn while I was shopping in China town in Bangkok. I spent the rest of the trip holding the strap on with three safety pins and carrying it inside a shopping bag I purchased. If the strap had stayed sewn in it would have rated as my favorite travel purse ever.
(Posted on 12/4/11)
I bought this for a trip to Europe but love it so much that I use it everyday. I was afraid all the security features would make it too heavy, but it lightweight. The strap is easily adjustable for over the shoulder or across my body. Lots of pockets and slots for keeping everything organized. Now I need to decide which color to order next.

Just back from a wonderful 2 weeks in Ireland. Have a larger VaultPro bag and a smaller bag but this size is "just right". Very light bag, nice long strap so I could easily wear it across my chest. Reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is that I had trouble opening the clamp type closure easily. Good to protect from thieves but not so good for me when I wanted quick access.
(Posted on 10/28/11)
I like the small purse and the amount I can get in it. The fact that it is compact and slash proof makes it better for travel and everyday use.
(Posted on 10/27/11)
I love it. Its small enough to be easily carried, but large enough to carry what I need.
(Posted on 10/2/11)
I am very pleased with the quality, size, and safety features of this bag. I purchased it for a trip to Italy and feel it will be the perfect travel companion!
(Posted on 9/18/11)
I originally purchased this bag for traveling but I love it so much I use it everyday. It is compact, and has so many pockets and compartments it keeps me well organized with everything I need in a handy spot. Thanks!
(Posted on 9/16/11)
I found the shoulder bag roomy and accomodating for all of my personal items including a small camera and eyeglass case. The one problem with the bag is the magnetic closure for the cellphone compartment. It does not stay shut. Either the magnetism is not strong enough or the closure is not sturdy enough to stay closed with a cellphone in the pocket.
(Posted on 9/15/11)
This is quite a handy small bag for travelling, with plenty of pockets, zippered and otherwise. At first I did not like the silver colour, but I got used to it. One disappointment was the attached LED light which was quite useless and soon stopped working all together. Oh well, who really needs one anyway??
(Posted on 8/31/11)
The bag is very cute, but VERY small. I could barely get the things I needed in it. The strap would not stay adjusted to the right length and kept slipping down to full length, which put it below my hip level. Then the strap broke completely, and I had to use a safety pin for the rest of the trip. By the end of my week of travelling, some of the stitching was coming undone. I ended up returning the bag.
(Posted on 8/22/11)
Perfection, what can I say other than this is exactly what I've been looking for. I would like to get another one in a different color. If I could change 1 thing is I would make the magnetic closure with a stronger magnet. Other than that, I'm very happy with this purchase.
(Posted on 8/19/11)
I purchased this for an upcoming trip to Germany, but am already finding it to be perfect for everyday use. I have never been a carrier of great big purses, so this is actually more roomy than I need for daily use, but it will have plenty of capactiy for my camera, map and cell on the trip.
(Posted on 7/14/11)
I love these bags! Solidly constructed, steel band in the strap, locking zippers - you won't regret this purchase. Perfect for international travel and everyday.
(Posted on 7/12/11)
This is just the right size for travel or everyday use when you can't or don't want to carry a heavy purse. It's extremely well made.
(Posted on 6/30/11)
This purse is amazingly light, when empty. That's a plus, cuz as I added stuff, it did not get too heavy-can wear it all day. Also the outer cell phone latch and inner closing snaps are magnetic-which is so nice, so they close almost by themselves. Also be aware you can adjust the strap, so one day you can wear the purse across your chest, with just a single long strap, and the next day you can double the strap, which shortens it, and wear the purse over one shoulder, under your arm.
(Posted on 6/26/11)
I just used the bag for the first time. I like that it isn't too deep - I can see what is there. I would prefer the end gussets a little wider so today's large key fobs wouldn't make it bulge. It seems to offer good security with the outer phone pouch having a magnetic closing flap.
(Posted on 6/23/11)
I have just finished an 18 day trip using this purse. It has neat pockets for the cell phone and passport(s) -- I carry my husband's along with mine -- and works well both as a shoulder bag and cross-body. I wish it were just a bit larger, perhaps an inch in each direction. I could not use my regular wallet with it and had to come up with another solution for my cash and change, and could not have carried my everyday keys. In other words, it wouldn't work at home, but is good for travel.
(Posted on 6/22/11)
I've had other 'travel' handbags, but they were either too small or so heavy that walking around all day with them on my shoulder caused pain. T his one has just a bit more room than the one I usually take to NYC when we visit and that room is enough to put in sunglasses, a thin wallet (zipped in own compartment), tissues, comb, lip gloss, and tub of rouge ,pen. plus an outside zip pocket for small bills and a little chang. Compact, good looking and lightweight paired with the security handle and anti slash material is just right for traveling and for erveryday use.
(Posted on 6/2/11)
Great bag for short or long trip. Holds all necessary items, easy to find in the interior and no digging for "hidden items!"
(Posted on 6/2/11)
This item was billed as theft proof, but an additional real everyday advantage to me is that it keeps my chihuahua's nose searching for treats out of my bag. It is the only bag I have found which is snout proof. She can open all zippers, clasps and ties, but the chain lock has her stumped. She has now given up, and doesn't attempt to investigate even when I leave it on the floor. Thank you. ps - I am sure it will deter thieves as well.
(Posted on 5/30/11)
The bag is very nice looking. But the strap hook is virtually impossible to unlock as it doesn't come up out of its cover. And that is one of the real potential benefits of the bag; its ability to be lock to a chair back. But while trying to unlock the strap, items fall from the bag!
(Posted on 5/29/11)
Although small this bag works well. One is able to lock the zipper so access is not easy for crooks, but easy for user. The lock on the side is great in stores or restaurants so no one can grab and run. As I have no experience with cutting attempts I can't comment on it, but I would say that it is excellent for protection if you need it.
(Posted on 4/7/11)
Pros: Great small bag, lots of pockets; slip, zip, and some with magnetic closures. The siver color is a nice seasonless neutral. adjustable strap for shoulder or cross body use. Light color interior and attached LED Great for traveling light Cons: The gusset is narrow, so stuffing the pockets with bulky items isn't practical. A small camera, comb, lipstick, wallet and cell phone is about the limit. The shoulder strap slides off the soulder, a non slip silicone grip would be a good addition.

great bag and very light. I feel secure wearing it.
(Posted on 3/18/11)
Tons of pockets and just a little bit bigger than my last Pac Safe bag. Great for travel and everyday. It can even hold a small camera.
(Posted on 3/9/11)
I like the security features on this purse, the steel mesh lining, cable in strap and clip to secure the zipper. It is neat, has several pockets for organizing. The phone packet is easy to access. I wish it was about 1 inch wider (front to back) so a little more stuff would fit.
(Posted on 2/11/11)
Its a great everyday little purse, I was looking for something compact with an outside pocket easily accessible for my cellphone, and found that it not only had that, it had an inside pocket for the card wallet I also bought and the spaces are just right for extra cards, pen, outside map pocket, great for mail, and the locking zipper feature. If you're a person that carries a lot of makeup and a book or two, look for something bigger. I am extremely pleased, and it even sits upright on its own.
(Posted on 1/27/11)
The concept is great, but after you fill it with cards, phone, gum & lipstick, there's no room for the sunglasses or the key ring with the house key and the 2 automated car keys. Additionally, I ended up with my folding money and my change in the same pouch. Not handy. Gave it up after using it on my Thankgiving trip.
(Posted on 12/9/10)
I travel all the time, and I use a much larger bag for traveling. But I recently moved into the city, and wanted a small, safe, lightweight bag for just a wallet, phone and a few other things. I walk almost everywhere now, or use public transportation. This bag is terrific- just the right size for walking around without being weighted down. I appreciate the light colored lining- have spent too many years looking for dark thing in dark purses.
(Posted on 11/17/10)
This bag holds much more than it's streamlined design indicates! It has easily accessible pockets to keep everything organized and, even when packed with stuff, it is attractive as well as practical. I have, fortunately, not had to test it's theft protection but it is an added plus when travelling!
(Posted on 11/17/10)
I am a big bag carrier usually. This is a medium sized bag that thinks it's a bigger bag. I couldn't tell by the picture that it is pretty too, in the plum color with pewter color inside. Looks good with the metal fixtures also a pewter look. Love the tiny purse light too.

It only needs a zippered divider pocket in the center, which would give it three sections. Better to find stuff.
(Posted on 10/28/10)
I purchased this bag mainly because of the price points as your price is very good in comparison to PacSafe. I loved the purple color and it is a neutral color. One comment is the strap. It does not maintain it's position and instead slips and slides. The little strap going horizontally around the main strap does not keep it from sliding. It needs to be adjusted frequently which is time consuming. Other than that one default feature it is a great bag! I hope you will look into this matter.
(Posted on 10/5/10)
Perfect everyday bag! A space for everything and the features are well designed and practical. Great bargain.
(Posted on 9/24/10)
I just returned from a trip to Rome and Greece, and this bag was perfect. It's not too big or bulky, but is roomy enough for the essentials - phone, camera, wallet, small cosmetic bag -- and has places for the hotel room card, maps, and slots for credit cards. I don't need a large purse as my husband carries a small backpack, so this one is ideal.

The only change I would make is to lenghten the purse about 3 or 4 inches. Otherwise, I am very pleased and will purchase from Magellan's again.

wish I would have had this for my last trip.
