Magellan's VaultPro Easy Pack Bag

When I opened the package I so much wanted to love the purse with its safety features and cute style, but, alas, the center compartment was not large enough for some of my essentials which include more personal items than it could hold. I would have liked a side water bottle pocket. But for people who can minimize what they carry it is great. I had to send it back. Loved the color.

I used this bag for a 16day tour of China and it was perfect. I could put a water bottle and my camera in the center area. The various pockets and zippered compartments kept all my items well organized and secure. It was still light enough to be very comfortable for a day of sightseeing.

I bought this bag in anticipation of a trip to British Columbia, specifically because of the positive reviews about how much could be packed in such a small space. Having read warnings about crime in Vancouver, I was also concerned about theft, so I wanted something I could wear cross-body, with a low profile--the locking clips were an added security benefit. This bag really did live up to my expectations: I had it stuffed full most of the time, yet was able to organize and access all my necessities (with one exception: my sunglasses are rather large and bulky, and unfortunately, there was no easy way to carry them. I usually stashed them in the center open section, but they only fit if I had nothing else in that section). I do agree with other reviewers that not being able to lock the section designed for credit cards and ID is a significant drawback, but I dealt with it by using that zippered pocket only for non-essential things. Also, the locking clips, while effective, were rather difficult for my arthritic fingers to operate--although that's no doubt an effective theft-deterrent! While in the crowded Vancouver Aquarium, I felt a sharp tug on my purse at one point--I didn't see anyone looking suspicious, but I did wonder if someone had attempted to open or grab the bag but been thwarted by the locks or the fact I was wearing the purse cross-body style. Overall, the VaultPro Easy Pack Bag is an incredibly well-designed, good quality item. It's truly astonishing how much you can carry in this little bag!

I purchased this item over a year ago had used it extensively for traveling especially overseas. Very unfortunately I had it in my shopping cart here in the U S ,forgot to pick it up after unloading groceries into car and it was stolen. I loved all the compartments with the zippers. It is such a good size for travel. I hope to replace it but I want it in the grey shade. It is not shown in my latest catalogue.

I liked this bag for travel. All the pockets gave me places to organize my stuff. I would have preferred the strap too be a little longer for wearing cross body style. I also found the strap to be a little stiff and rough on my neck. I've had problems with the zipper on the outside compartment -- it's a little difficult to close.

My bag was purchased with the intent to use it overseas on a two week trip. I really loved the bag and used it for 4 days until the strap pulled out from the seams and broke. I was not able to use the bag for the rest of the trip.

My Vaultpro bag was great while vacationing in Washington, DC. I was hands free while taking pictures. Its a lightweight bag with lots of pockets for all my travel needs.

I really liked the bag and the color teal worked well with my travel wardrobe. I like the security of the main zippered big section with the safety clip. It did seem to be a little stiff to use the clip, but I am hoping it will open and close easier with use. I love, love the water bottle area. I really only fits the standard size- 16 oz bottle. While I have not traveled with it yet, I will write back to revise my review it after my trip. I thought the size might be too large, but because it is slim fitting to the body, it is not bulky or heavy. I think that it will hold a lot including a tour guide book. It is not big enought for an ipad, just incase you were wondering. I think it will be a great travel bag.

My bag arrived with a big stain, and the color gray was much darker than in the photo online. So i ordered it in black but it was sold out :( great bag, bad color and condition.

I just received this bag in the mail and my initial look-over has me pleased. I checked every compartment and I'm sure I can fit what I need and not worry about it being too bulky or stolen. Though, there are issues I noticed right away. First off, I really wish this was RFID protected, it is the nicest design (In my opinion) that I saw, and that was the first flaw I saw. Though the only RFID item I have is my passport, so I chose to buy a protected case for that instead. The locking carabiner on the strap does not stick out as far as the one in the picture, that to me isn't a big issue because I can get another locking carabiner to hook onto it and feel that will solve the issue when needing to secure it to a chair, and will give more room. Though, the biggest issue is the small wallet in the back. The location helps, though it's not a locking zipper and it's where you will keep your money? I don't like that. But a simple switch of the zipper pull to a keyring and another locking carabiner that I can hook to the adjacent strap is an easy fix. It'll put you out maybe another $10. I haven't priced carabiners, but the addition of one or two to your need and opinion may need to be added. Aside from that, the purse is stylish and cute. The center pocket will make checking in with my passport so easy. I recommend it.

I use this bag when shopping locally; have not used it abroad so far. It holds what you need with room to spare. As a matter of fact, one of the zip sides on my bag is still empty. I love the fact that the bag is expandable when you need it, but so far I haven't had to use this extra space. The middle compartment solves the problem of where to put my clip-on sunglasses beautifully! The magnetic snaps on the middle section make it easy to close the two sections together if desired. I wear the bag cross-body and feel very safe that it won't be snatched or the steel wire reinforced straps cut !! My Smartphone fits perfectly in the outer flap with the snap pocket. The outer organizer is handy for change and bills which I keep in the mesh pocket with the zipper. There are quite a few zippered secure pockets in the outer organizer in which to stash things like credit cards, checkbook, etc. I was also delighted to find a place to hold a pen in one of the two main compartments. This bag fits close to the body leaving your hands free.

I love my travel purse...bought it for my Italy trip. I'm enjoying the easy to reach pockets on the outside. It's definitely an easy to pack bag. The security features are excellent. I'm diligent about securing the pocket each time I use it....Lots of pockets.

I bought this to use as an across-the-body bag on my travels in Europe. It was wonderful and carried quite a bit of stuff even though it is small. The pockets were great for keeping things organized.

CAN'T GET THE ADJUSABLE STRAP TO HOLD AT THE LENGTH I NEED. OTHER THAN THAT LOVE THE BAG.

I recently ordered this travel bag for an upcoming cruise trip so haven't used it yet. In the past I've ordered 2 other types of bags and none has really worked well for me. After studying the details of the Easy Pack and reading other customer reviews, it seemed this one was just what I needed. I wanted a secure bag for our travels, large enough to carry my necessities but small enough to wear/carry easily. This one seems to fill all the categories, and since I purchased a black bag it should work out for dressy dinners, etc... I'll report again after our trip.

When I bought this purse, I was looking for something that was very secure and pick pocket proof. When I received the purse in the mail I was really pleased. It has so many secure features that I feel really comfortable having it as my travel bag. ( If someone can get in this bag, they deserve to keep the contents! )

If it wasn't for the zipper, I would have given this bag five stars. I don't think I'll ever use the credit card pocket because I'm afraid that someday I'll want to close the pocket and the zipper won't budge no matter how hard I try... it's very frustrating.

I bought this bag for a trip to Italy. I bought it mainly for its compact size and security features, but when I got it and tried it out, I love it for its terrific organization!! With my other purses, everything sinks to the bottom and I can never find what I am looking for. I love the easy access to my credit cards and cash. I use the magnetic center for tissues (easy access) and the small outside zipper for my keys. My cell phone slips into the outside flap pocket. The two zippered pockets are handy, one for personal items such as makeup, comb etc and in the other I keep my notebook and pen etc. I don't ever think I have had a purse that kept my items at my fingertips as well as this one. I just bought my second one in a different color, and I doubt that my other handbags will get much use anymore. If you buy this bag, you will love it!

My wants in a bag were met with the VaultPro. After our trip to the Mediterranean and having to open and close a bag to get my camera out, this bag is what I wanted with a separate open compartment and secured zipper compartments. Now I can just reach for my camera without having to unzip. My husband bought this for me for our upcoming trip to China as it was also slash proof. I have tried it out with my camera and things and am sure it is a winner. Four stars only because it hasn't been put to the true test yet.

We bought 4 of these for Daughter, Grand-daughters and myself. I have used mine only once in a casino and so far, so good. It even worked well for there! lol We all will be going to Europe in May, so will be able to use them over there. That is the real reason for the purchase. We already have a larger one that we bought a few years ago and Howard always carries that one and it is great!

I was so excited to feel how light it was and how it will fit everything I need for my trip. I have a bad neck so having a light bag is very important to me.

It worked very well. There are an awful lot of zippers though, which made it a little difficult to remember where things are. It does hold a lot of things and I really liked the middle pouch to put things that I was using alot. I liked the built in wallet, however, it was a bit difficult to open when trying to buy things in a store with a lot of people around.

I was looking for a bag with the safety features of this one. I especially like the organization and the size. Like some of the other reviewers, I wish the back pocket had a security hook, but I will probably put the important items in one of the other compartments. I am looking forward to using it on a trip this Spring and at other times when a bag of this size and features will be useful.

Being a season traveler, I'm always on the look out for a great traveling purse, I know how important it is to have a secure purse that provides easy access to the items you need while traveling, this purse offers that, (I love the middle compartment, and keep all my traveling brochures, maps, train tickets…etc. while sightseeing) it's the perfect size for me, fit great while carrying it across the body, and I it gives me the peace of mind that my belongs are secure, though I still constantly check my purse while traveling, but having the extra safety features will make it harder for someone to pickpocket me. The only thing I wish it had is a carabiner hook on the cash/credit card compartment, but I think I can put one on myself as one of the ladies stated in her comment. Otherwise it's perfect.

Bought this to use just for travel, but find myself taking it whenever I go shopping and around town when I don't want to carry a larger bag. Two suggestions -- make the shoulder strap longer as I wear the bag across my body, and be sure the outside zipper around the credit card pocket works smoothly. Fix that -- and I'll buy another in a different color.

All told, I have had four of these bags. Purchased one and liked it a lot. But couldn't get the outside zipper compartment open without a struggle; Magellan willingly took it back an shipped a replacement. Same problem with the second one. This is for travel, and when I need access to money and/or credit cards, I don't want to have to use two hands. So, I returned this one and it was again willingly replaced - postage prepaid by Magellan each time. Received the third one and decided to try to reposition the zipper start myself. Was able to do so and off I went on an almost month-long trip to Europe. Used it every day. I was able to carry all the necessities for day trips plus a water bottle It was comforting to know that I could swing the bag behind me and not worry about it's being cut off my body; the strap was long enough so I was able to keep it out of my way while taking pictures. The black was good as it was dressy enough to take into the ship's dining room when we spiffed up a bit. Returned home and decided to continue to use the bag for every day. Then I found that one of the side seams was starting to fail at the top by the strap insertion. Again, Magellan came to my rescue and provided a free replacement. I'm hoping this one will last and I'm thinking about purchasing another so I can have one for travel and one for daily use. Because this purse has a zippered gusset you can have it be small and compact, or larger to carry water bottles and cameras. I carry a little digital camera with me every day with no problem at all. So, the design is wonderful: well thought out and extremely practical. I just wish the execution were better. And, I can't say enough good about Magellan's Customer Service. It's good to do business with someone who stands behind their products.

This bag is amazing!!! It holds way more than it looks! It is small enough when you need it to be, but it can be adjusted to be bigger too to hold those items when you need. AWESOME BAG!!! If you travel, you need this bag!

This is a very nifty and cleverly designed bag. It is designed to be held close to the body, and some of the pockets are a little tight, though most are surprisingly capacious despite the flat profile of the bag. It is lightweight, a very convenient size, and does not seem to pick up marks or stains; and the zippers work well. I only have two very minor complaints: there are too few slots for credit cards (just one or two more would have been good), and the strap fully extended is just a hair short for cross-body comfort. However, there are multiple places to stash things, and in several weeks of using it this bag's convenience outweighs the complaints, so these are quite minor caveats. Overall, I am very happy with this bag and would recommend it, though I haven't taken it on an international trip yet -- that's next month!

This bag is smaller than I expected, yet amazingly roomy! It holds my two cell phones & a pda easily, along with small daily makeup needs, a small, very flat wallet, keys, notebook, etc I wish it were just a tiny bit larger to fit my iPad when I travel, but that's not a big deal. Center section is extremely convenient for items I need to grab quickly. Am seriously contemplating getting this in another color, I like it so much

First, I think this is the best organized purse I have ever seen. I am amazed at what I can carry in it and there are two pockets which are still empty. Even though my husband is the photographer in the family, he likes me to carry a point and shoot with me. I almost never do because I can't find the room in my purse. Well, in the Vault Pro, I find I can carry two pairs of glasses, my cell phone, at least two pens, a small notebook and there is still a pocket for my camera. And that's just in the two large zippered compartments. I will probably carry my passport in the large, mesh pocket where it will be secure, but easy to find. I love the center, magnetic section. It is so good for dropping just about anything in there. Maps, guidebook, my keys, etc. Then, of course, there is a large magnetic pocket on the outside which I use for my makeup. The smaller one on that side is still empty. Now, comes the one thing I don't like. I was really surprised and disappointed to find there was no safety catch for the compartment that holds credit cards and cash, the one area which needs it the most. We are planning a trip to France and I would not carry this purse without a safety catch on this compartment. I read in your reviews that one woman had her credit card stolen from this compartment because it wasn't secure and the thief immediately started charging on it. My husband found a carabiner-type catch, similar to the ones already on the purse. He removed the zipper pull and attached this carabiner. Then he slipped a sturdy key ring on the strap closest to the zipper. I can now secure this section as well as the others. I would buy this purse again in a different color, but only if the manufacturer added a secure catch to this important compartment. Thank you, Ruby Wolcott

I had previously bought this bag in another color. My mother admired the size, accessiblity, and safety features. It was the perfect choice for her birthday. We will take our Vaultpro bags on a trip to the canyonlands this fall, knowing they safely hold our needed items (plus a few for our husbands) without a lot of weight. I have had no trouble getting through security checks in LA, LaGuardia, KC International, or any other airports (despite the considerable steel reinforcement). I especially like the mesh screen for credit card protection.

I have not had a chance to use my new bag, but it's very similar to one I wore out(not a VaultPro). It has all the same compartments, so I'm sure that it will so easy to have everything I need in an organized fashion. I will be taking this on a 2 wk. trip to France in Oct.

I don't have one complaint about this bag. I carried it for three weeks this summer in France. It was rainy a lot and the middle slot carried my travel umbrella with no problem. I also used the slot, which closes with two magnets, to hold my plane or train tickets or anything that I needed to access quickly. Also, thank goodness for those purse locks; I would have gotten pick-pocketed once without them. The quality is top-notch. I plan to use it as my regular purse.

I wrote an earlier review, in which I stated the problem with the wallet portion of the bag. It's the most important compartment and does not have the carabiner to secure it. I solved it myself by taking a carabiner off a key chain and having my husband secure it to the zipper pull holder (after taking off the pull itself). Then I slipped another sturdy key ring onto the strap. Once it's zipped, I can secure it just the way the rest of the purse is. Aside from that, this is a wonderful small purse. Probably the best designed I've ever seen. I can put two pairs of glasses, pens, my cell phone and my camera in the various holders. Not to mention all the other space for credit cards (unsecured, unfortunately) change, passport and as one other person mentioned, I, also, love the middle compartment. It's just wonderful to slip receipts, a travel guide, perhaps. a boarding pass and the snaps hold securely. I can put all my makeup in the one large magnetic compartment on the back side. I found it too small and compressed to fit my glass case, cell phone, and other items.

Just received my order; had trouble with the outside zipper opening smoothly. I couldn't believe how helpful the Customer Service people are - they will send a replacement, then I return the defective purse. Amazing. As for the purse, it's just right for any use. There is a storage compartment for passport, coins, bills, etc. The magnetic center compartment will allow space to carry water and/or my camera - won't need my backpack anymore - fantastic! I like the idea of the secure shoulder strap too. I'll be visiting Italy; you never know how creative the gypsies will be in trying to lighten your load. Thanks for everything, Magellan.

The purse is very functional, with places for credit cards, cash, phone, sunglasses, pens, etc. Neat feature: magnets hold the two large compartments together, so that's a great place for tickets, boarding pass, and other papers you need to get to quickly. I bought a tan purse, and after it got a couple of dirty spots, I used a spot remover wipe and it came clean easily.

I purchased the VaultPro Easy Pack Bag after reading about the high rate of pickpocking in Italy. The bag is great with two exceptions--the zip-around wallet section cannot be secured and the stitching diving two of the pocket unraveled. I learned the hard way about the unsecured zip-around outside pocket. While in Rome, probably in a crowd, a pickpocket without my knowledge slightly unzipped the top of the section and removed the top credit card and started charging purchases. Recommendation: When using this purse, keep all credit cards and valuables inside the more secure sections. On the positive side, the purse carries a lot in a small space...very impressive. I carried a camera and everything from a much larger purse in the bag.

The bag's security features are pretty good, and the bag strap is a good length for over the shoulder & across the body. The one big disappointment is that the outside zipper pocket where the money and credit cards are stored does NOT have a locking zipper pull. The ones for the inside pockets are great and I wish the same capabilty was on the pocket where money is to be kept.

This bag is amazing. We travel a lot and I have the PacSafe bag that is just a little smaller and just did not have enough room.. This bag has so many pockets I just may not remember where I put everything! The pockets are roomy and deep and the bag is completely safe from cut and grab thieves. It's just perfect for travel and even everyday use. I bought the bag in green and it's a nice color that will go with just about anything.

Finally, a functional bag with the right features! This bag is my everyday purse -- it holds my essentials, and that can be a lot since I have a few medical needs I carry with me all the time. The zippered compartments have plenty of pockets, and light colored interior make finding my things easy to see (and the little LED light is a unique add-on!). The small pocket for my cards and ID is handy enough for me to shed my wallet and lose the bulk and weight of an extra purse to tuck into it. Although the zipper for that section does get a little stuck when you open it up all the way, it's a small sacrifice for the convenience. My favorite feature of this bag is the middle compartment. It's essentially an open pocket held closed by magnets, so it's a great place to tuck in long envelopes, airline boarding passes, and my Kindle! It's an expandable pocket so you can fit in bulkier items like a water bottle and thick gloves. Because it's open, items are easy to grab or tuck in. I thought a safety bag like this one would weigh a lot with a cable through the strap, heavy-duty zippers, and the rest of the security features but it's lighter than my old bag that's comparable in size! I love the sage green color too! The only improvement I'd make is to add another 8 inches to the strap since I prefer to wear it across the body, not on the shoulder. I'm 5'2" so it fits okay, but I'd be more comfortable with it hanging down a little lower on me. I'll probably get a second bag in another color...

I researched travel bags and decided on this one...what a winner! A place for everything, lightweight and safe! It even expands when you do a little extra shopping. This was my first trip to Europe and hopefully not the last! This bag will be going with me when and wherever I travel!

Purchased this bag for a trip to Yelapa, MX. Wanted something compact, black, could accommodate all my stuff and compartments that were easy to get to. This is a great travel bag with convenient built-in's and safe features for your travel docs, money and credit cards. Well worth the money. A quality bag that I will be using for a long, long time.

The Max Utility Bag is outstanding, especially for women. But this Easy Pack Bag is just as appealing, hidden places and all, plus that magic tiny flashlight! Love it!

I like it a lot. the only negative side is one side of the purse where the closure is magnetized does not stay close because the metal buckle (ring) is on the way. Otherwise I like the rest of it and it is a good travel purse to use and gives me some sense of security.

I like a small bag when I travel - big enough for my SLR camera, wallet, credit cards,, small notebook and a few cosmetics. This bag is great - fairly small, lots of pockets, zippers and security features.

This bag has so much room with the expansion. I even ordered another one. It holds everything I need for every day commuting.

I recently traveled to Naples and Barcelona. This bag replaced my Pac Safe (felt it was too obvious.) This bag is not only stylish, it is functional. The zipper locks did the trick. It would have taken a pickpocket with some very nimble fingers to undo these locks. Love all the compartments. This is your go to travel bag!

This purse has pockets for nearly everything and as such I use it as an everyday purse. There are only three things I would change: Have more color choices, such as brown or cordovan; add a elastic straps to the middle compartment that can be used to store a weapon (can of mace, etc.) upright; and add a clip to the key holder.

This is the best purse I've ever traveled with! It's small, but so well laid out that it has a place for everything I need (passport, iPhone, camera, reading glasses, sun glasses, small umbrella, map, guidebook, separate places for local money and dollars, and more). Everything is secure, but accessible.

This bag was a perfect travel replacement for my purse. Plenty of compartments, sturdy, lightweight. Only problem is that the zipper around the money compartment is a binds a little when closing after being fully opened. Just have to take it slow.

i love this bag. it's the ultimate purse, for travel and for everyday. there is room for all my stuff, including my cell phone and yet it's light. i would buy another one in a minute if it came in brown, but the green that i have is really nice.

This sounds like a great bag for travel but it is slightly too small for my I Pad. If it could be made one inch larger on all dimemtions it would fit and I would be first on line to buy one.

This bag is well-organized, and good-looking. It does, of course, have many security features. However, I would caution travelers about depending on these features to secure their valuables. You can get injured trying to hold onto a super-secure bag like this one, or any bag for that matter. It's much better to keep just a little bit of cash easily available, and keep your passport, credit card, and larger amounts of cash on your body, in a neck or a waist pouch.

We spent 5 weeks in Italy and this was the only purse I took. It is well organized, safe yet easy to open when I needed it. and while it is safe, it is also light weight and stylish. The thinness of it made it easy to wear, even under a jacket.

I love that my Kindle fits in this bag! I like small bags for travel, what swayed me to this one was the flap that holds credit cards and money, much easier when traveling than worrying about a separate wallet. I just wish the strap was a tad longer for wearing as a cross-body bag (I'm tall) but it's not bad.

This purse is light and extremely roomy for its footprint: I could fit a mini folding umbrella in the middle slot. Separate compartments are very handy. Sturdy and well made. Got wet in the rain, but left no markings when it dried.

I love this bag, it has a space for everything. It is stylish yet practical. I prefer small bags but do not find this one too bulky.

Easy access compartments, roomy, light weight, only suggestion is that the credit cars/cash compartment access is awkward while the purse is being worn.

Just returned from a whirlwind tour of Europe and used my VaultPro bag every day. It held all my necessities (sunglasses, reading glasses, cell phone, cosmetics and lots more) and even a fairly large digital camera in the expandable center pocket, yet didn't look bulky. I always felt my bag was secure even among the crowds at the Eiffel Tower or walking around London at night. Highly recommended!
