GREAT PRODUCT!!
By Carol A L., San Antonio, TX in January, 2011
Thus is a fantastic vest! It is lightweight, great length, true to size, and it has lots of pockets. I do a lot of photographey, and this vest allows me to carry ID, credit cards, money, etc. and small photo accessories leaving my hands free. Items are easily accessible yet safe. Perfect in every way!
Lots of Pockets
By Evelyn C., Boston, MA in January, 2011
The Ultimate Travel Vest has pockets for everything. Although I haven't had a chance to wear it "in the field" yet, I love all of the pockets. There is even a pocket for a water bottle. It will be very convenient when travelling to carry all of my travel documents in the vest along with evrything I'll need on the plane. At security I can simply put the vest in the bin instead of empting all of my pockets.
Wonderful concept for traveling
By Mary B., Orcas, WA in January, 2011
To use vest pockets rather than a handbag is a wonderful concept for traveling. It has many pockets for finding items quickly. It is nylon for durability. An improvement would be two pouch pockets on the inside for storing that book and eyeglasses you need on the plane, and in the other maybe a small pillow. I added these to mine, without any visibility. It is too bad that the vest itself is a bit heavy with all those pockets, though, as when one adds the items, it does wear one down.
Great vest

Love this vest when I have a day of shopping.....I wear my purse. It is great...
Great!
By Rosemary C., MS in January, 2011
Wore the vest on my last flying trip. Loved that all the pockets were right there and my hands were free. Even used the water bottle pocket; sat in the airline seat with no problems.
Great for travel
By Marna R., Tampa, FL in January, 2011
Got this vest in wheat and it's very comfortable. It does run large, so if you are not going to wear something bulky under it, you might want to size down. It would be nice if one of the pockets were a bit deeper to be able to have your boarding pass handy. Overall...an excellent product.
Alaska Bound
By June L., Selkirk, NY in January, 2011
I bought this vest in preparation for a trip to Alaska. It runs true to size and there is plenty of room for layering. With this vest, I don't have to carry a thing! There are pockets for everything from camers, i-pods, maps, a water bottle and food. The styling is great - no collar, so it can be worn wherever I travel in any weather. Two small snaps on the back of the vest even allow me to tighten it up for summer when I don't need to layer. Very happy with purchase!
Wow
By Elizabeth M., CA in January, 2011
I ordered this vest 1/5/11 and received it 1/7/11. How is that for fast service??? This vest is exactly what I was looking for to go on my trip in March. I like my vests long and this fits the bill. All the pockets will be handy when on the airplane. I can fit all my gadgets, books, medicine in this vest. Looking forward to traveling many places with this vest!!
Not for petite frames
By Deb W., SC in December, 2010
I ordered both the Magellan Ultimate Travel Vest and the Travel Vest at the same time. I already owned the ScotteJacket in the tropical weight. I am 5'2" and normally wear a S or XS in jackets. The Ultimate Vest only comes in S, so that's what I ordered. It dwarfed my petite frame and was very long. Add that to the protruding flaps of the pockets and I looked somewhat silly. Quality is fine. I returned this item only because of fit. If you're taller, vest might work fine.
Rating for the lightweight, less expensive vest.
By Sandra D., Globe, AZ in November, 2010
I would have liked this vest if it hadn't been to large. Since I was going to Egypt, I exchanged it for the lighter and less expensive travel vest and found it to be perfect. It was very lightweight. It had fewer pockets but enough. It was very comfortable in the heat, and eliminated the need to carry a handbag. I love it and would recommend it highly.
Love this!
By Janet C., Head Jeddore, NS in October, 2010
This vest is terrific, not too bulky or heavy & it fits a bit on the large size so it can accommodate a light jacket or hoodie underneath it. However, I also agree with a couple of other reviewers that it would be even better with an nside pocket large enough to hold an airline boarding pass. None of the outside pockets are long enough to hold a boarding pass without bending the pass.
the indespensable vest for safaris

I was very pleased with the quality and detail of this vest. The fit was perfect. This garment far exceeded my expectations.
Travel vest
By Helen O., Atlanta, GA in October, 2010
I can hardly wait to use this travel vest. It's not just the multiple velcro closure pockets and water bottle pocket, it's also the snap closure that lets you leave the bottom snap open for comfort, and the v-neck that lets you wear it with any kind of neckline under it.

Travel Vest
By Deborah N., Taunton, MA in October, 2010
I have worn the vest twice so far. The pockets were smaller than I expected and I found I needed to be careful what items I put in which pocket or the vest was uncomfotable on the plane. The 2nd trip worked better becasue I had a better idea what worked. It made going through security much easier as I just took off the vest and sent it, and my filled pockets through the xray machine. I'm glad I purchased it and will use it many times, I am sure
Travel Vest
By Anonymous A., AZ in September, 2010
I agree with the customer who suggested an inside pocket large enough to hold an airline boarding pass. None of the outside pockets are long enough to hold a boarding pass without bending the pass. Also, more secure inside pockets would be useful for items that would be easily accessible such as a photo ID. Otherwise, the travel vest is a great asset to airline travel where documents and money need to be readily accessible as well as secure.
Handy for travel and walking
By Willie S., Hot Springs Village, AR in August, 2010
This is a good looking vest. I ordered it in black so I can wear a blouse under it and a coat over it on the plane, thus cutting down on carry-on luggage. Those little items so necessary on an overseas flight - iPod, eye covers, glasses case, MyClyns, even medications needed on board plus a phone or iPhone, toothpaste and toothbrush, passport, credits cards, cash are on my body at all times. I have otherompartmen vests that just don't fill the bill like this one does. I love the secret zipped c
versatile, but too long and a bit too heavy for summer travel
By Anonymous, MA in August, 2010
vest proved to be a good alternative to carrying a bulky backpack, especially when visiting museums, which generally do not allow backpacks. but the vest seemed fairly long for me -- i'm 5'5". the vest also seemed a bit heavy, tho i guess you need some weight to make it sturdy for all that it can carry. i would include an inside no-flap pocket that's deep enough to hold a boarding pass. everytime i was issued a boarding pass, i had to fold it to fit into one of the pockets, or let it hang ou

travel vest
By Anonymous, GA in July, 2010
I have a travel vest from years ago that has twice the number of pockets, both outside and inside and one on the back, that this Magellan one. Yours fits nicely, but so does the other one. My old one is definitely a vest made for travel with plenty of secure pockets. Yours sacrifices more practical aspects with a "dressier" look.
Comfortable, good length, looks nice
By Sally A., Rochester, NY in July, 2010
Most pocket vests appear to belong on a fisherman or have too few pockets to be useful - NOT the case here. Although this vest may be a little heavy in hot weather the pockets seem well designed - should be great on the plane without needing access to my carry-on for ipod or other items to keep me from getting bored on a long flight. No purse necessary - nice! Haven't had a chance to use it yet but think it will work out great. True to size for me.
The perfect hiking vest
By Anadel M., CA in May, 2010
Excellent fit and comfort. Enough pockets even for me. No need even to carry a backpack when I hike. Washes up beautifully. It's a perfect match for my needs.
A Place for Everything.
By Barbara D., Palos Heights, IL in May, 2010
It looks good and has a pocket or space for everything. The bottom pockets are big enough for my travel book. I really liked the convenient hidden zipper pocket for money. I tend to overstuff and probably carried too much so I noticed some sore back muscles. I'm not sure I would use it in hot weather as I didn't feel it breathed enough, but great for below 72 degrees. It gave me freedom from a purse and fear of pickpockets in major cities.
