Magellan's Ultimate Sun Shirt II

I loved this shirt from the moment I got it. I especially liked the extra flap on the sleeves that could cover your hands from the sun (what a great idea). So, I quickly ordered another one in a different color. BUT, the second shirt was very different from the first. No extra flap on the sleeves! Different cuffs and buttons on the sleeves. Different front pockets. Different side pockets (first shirt had them attached to the front of the shirt, second shirt they were loose and flapping). Extra flap on collar had velcro on second shirt (nice touch). Also, the hidden front neck flap (another nice idea) was sewn out of place so I had to unstitch it and resew it where it should have been. Don't get me wrong, I still love the second shirt and kept it. But, no warning that I wasn't getting the same item. One little disappointment: after washing and lightly drying they were a bit more wrinkled than I'd like.

I love everything about it...how it fits for a woman's figure, the color, the pockets, the collar, and the hidden neck scarf that has the detail of a snap to keep it in place. The only thing disappointing is the extra fold-down cuff that should cover the back of the hand. That piece is actually not sewn into the right place on the sleeve... it covers only about one-fourth of the back of the hand. I purchased this item for that detail, but I'll keep it for all the other good parts...but I sure wish the next batch gets more careful supervision as to where to place this piece properly on the sleeve so that it gives the coverage that the description claims.

I have not worn the shirt yet as I bought it for an upcoming trip to a hot desert climate. I does have nice detailing, with fold down fabric over the wrist and lower part of the hand to protect them from sunburn. I was nicely surprised at how comfortable the zip out neck scarf is and how thought was put into the design for how it snaps to cover your upper neck area. It is very light weight, and I think it will be cool. I am not sure if it will need ironing, as it did arrive wrinkled. The only reason that I gave it four stars was I think it ran a little long. I am 5 7 1/2 and the legnth was long on me. But it will keep the sun off, so I am pleased with my purchase.

The weight & feel of the fabric is excellent, as is the fit. One of the nicest travel shirts that i have bought over the years.

Material, and color are gorgeous. Have not worn or washed yet, I plan to wear the shirt when I visit Trinidad later this spring.
