Magellan's Travel With Ease Jacket

Based on mixed reviews, I took a chance and found the jacket to be comfortably stretchy, casual yet somewhat tailored and sophisticated, wrinkle resistant, very packable and compact, and lightweight. After deciding to keep the jacket, the unlined material made it easy to make a few minor alterations to shorten the sleeves, as well as add darts in the back for more feminine lines....just as long as there's enough circumference for you to do so. The actual XL bustline is 48" with a bottom hem circumference of 51". As far as the fabric is concerned, it could be described as a durable, tight weave with little to no sheen. It has the feel of most outdoor gear softshell jacket material, but thinner without sacrificing body. In other words, it's not slinky and clingy like swim wear or athletic gear. The matte black snap buttons adorning the front pockets and drawstring end embellishments contributed to a more feminine look, even though I would've preferred even a bit more embellishments to distinguish it further as less masculine. The $44.98 sale price was also a big plus, however I'm unclear as to why tax was added when there are no Magellan's stores in Hawaii. Overall, it's a keeper!

I liked the fit and the styling but did not like the fabric at all. The fabric, while clearly it did not wrinkle, felt slinky, more fake than any material I have felt recently. More silk and/ or more cotton would have helped. The fabric did not feel as though it was rayon either. Nor did the fabric feel as though it would breathe in hot weather.

Purchased this jacket to wear on the airplane for my Venice, Italy trip. It is the perfect jacket to ward off coolness and does not wrinkle even when stuffed into a carry on. This jacket can be used for both casual or dress it up with a scarf. It is true to size and drys quickly. Great purchase and would buy one if offered in navy blue.

Loved the style and the fit.Wished it had been a knit blend, not 100% polyseter.

Bought this for a European trip. We did not know what to expect weather wise. Needed something light enough to wear under a raincoat.. This jacket was nice enough to wear with a skirt or pants at night. Love it. I also bought the vest and the pants. They practically dry instantly. Best traveling purchases I've made.

Great--just what I have been looking for

I bought the Travel With Ease Jacket for a three week trip with variable weather situations and dressy/casual occasions. This jacket is one of the best purchases I've made. Super lightweight, non wrinkly fabric. Very comfortable to use on plane trips or on nights out. Looks good with jeans or with dressy slacks. It is not made for warmth, but worn over a light sweater or long sleeves it adds a layer of protection against the cold. Couldn't be more pleased and I expect to use it for many years to come. Thank you for a great product.

Great jacket, love the material and the slight stretch it has. Think it will be perfect for travel, but I had a really hard time getting out the packing wrinkles ... hope it doesn't mean that will happen every time I pack it in my suitcase!

This is the best travel jacket, wore it all over Ireland and it kept me warm and added a scarf for evening and it was perfect. The only thing not good is the snap buttons. One came apart wth no easy way to replace it.

As a heavy person who is always hot but needs something lightweight and good looking during late spring in early am or when traveling, this is just the right jacket. I only wish the price had stayed lower so I could feel justified in buying a second one in another color. I got the black; it is dressy yet not so. Love it!

This lightweight jacket is good for summer travel. It could use an internal zippered pocket that would hold a passport. It doesn't wrinkle, which is great. It is not the answer for overly airconditioned meeting rooms or restaurants, but a lightweight cashmire/alpaca sweater easily fits under it for that purpose. I had to have the sleeves shortened one complete cuff length, which is more than even my short arms usually require. I like that it is boxy and not fitted as it allows me to clip my Blackberry to the waist of the skirt/pants I am wearing and not have it obvious that it is there.

The jacket fits perfectly, and the fabric is easy to care for, and always looks sharp.

I am impressed with the quality and fit of this jacket. Runs true to size and is lightweight. Just what I was looking for.

I fit exactly in the middle of the medium size chart, so naturally ordered a medium, but the jacket is very large and I have to return it. The quality seems very good, but it is so baggy and shapeless, there's no way I'd wear it.

This jacket has wonderful fabric for travel, however a drawstring waist would have completely changed the look of this jacket in a more feminine way.

i cannot say it enough: this jacket was worth the wait. I originally ordered 'my usual size' but needed to return/exchange because I lost some weight. The next lower size not fits perfectly with enough wearing ease. The fabric is buttery soft, the garment construction is excellent. I ordered this for an earlier trip, didn't have a chance to wear this but am not looking forward to bringing this with me soon for another trip. Magellan's return/exchange policy should be the model used by merchants to what to make their mark in commerce. Thank you Magellan. You have made me a customer for life If there were more stars than five, I'd most certainly rate everything a 10+.-tgf

I liked the quality and details of the jacket. It ran a little big in size S. But the reason I returned it was because the matching pants were unavailable in a smaller size. I was looking for a set.A comment: it cost me $16 to return the set. That is something I must consider when contemplating future orders. Perhaps the company can help with those costs.

Nice fabric....light weight. Look forward to using on trip to China. Have ordered another in different color. Didn't give 5 stars because haven'tany experience in washing and hanging dry.

I first bought this jacket a few years ago and it still looks as great as the day after it came out of the box. This purchase was for a different color and I'm very happy to see that the quality and style have been maintained. I wear it often for long plane flights as well as for zipping around town. It looks good, is comfortable, is true to size, has ample pockets, and washes/dries beautifully with no ironing needed.

LOve this jacket. I always have a hard time with sizes because I am 5'4" with large bust so depending on maker, I wear a L, or XL petitie. This is an L and fits great. The only reason I would not rate it better is that pockets are quite high on the jacket.

I travel back and forth to the Middle East so I am on a lot of long flights. This jacket and matching pants are a great outfit to travel in for these long flights.

the jacket fit perfectly...attn. petites...i'm 5'3', and ordered a regular medium...i like it-it comes down a little further on my leg, but the pockets are in line with my hands, and i turned the cuff up on the sleeve for a perfect.fit...check out how these jackets look on the models...the'd have to hike their hands halfway up their chests to put them in the pockets................love the material, and it it is very comfortable...

I bought the jacket and the matching pants and they were terrific; never wrinkled, took up very little room in suitcase & washed & dried by hand overnight.and mixed and matched well with Megellan's "On Tour Pant" and "On Tour Shirt". The trip included a 12 day Baltic cruise and 2 weeks in Germany & Paris. I took 5 different tops that coordinated well with both outfits. The relaxed, easy fit of the pants allows for the wearing of a "Secret Waist Wallet" (also from Magellan) to store passport, credit cards etc or wear in the cooler temperatures tights. Would recommend both outfits for year round wear.

I'm looking forward to wearing this jacket & pants set on the plane for our overnight flight to Europe. It's neat, lightweight, comfortable & doesn't wrinkle easily. I bought it in black & will probably buy it in another color, also because the fit of the set is great. It can also be dressed up with a shirt blouse or a colorful tee & jewelry. I do wish it had an inside pocket or two, though.

The fit and style were perfect,but the fabric was stiff like "foul weather gear"! Hope it comes out in a different fabric for fall/winter.

This jacket is good for several reasons. It's light weight, doesn't wrinkle easily and has dual pockets on each side, one with snaps. Washes and dries like a dream. it goes nicely with pants such as denim or twill, and not just the matching pants.

This is my new favorite jacket! On a recent two week trip to England and Scotland it kept me dry during the inevitable showers, kept me warm on those cool British summer days, and when there was an unseasonable hot spell, it folded up very small in my suitcase, but came out unwrinkled and ready to wear! Plus it looked good with everything from jeans to over a skirt and blouse, and had sufficient pockets for camera,phone, train tickets, etc. A really great jacket and good value.

This is a very nice jacket. Low profile - can be dressed up or down. I own it in black and the dark walnut. Travels well, doesn't wrinkle and takes up almost no room in a suitcase. Would definitely recommend.

Purchased the Travel with Ease jacket & long pants. Our plane trip was 13 hours & this was the most comfortable thing I could have worn. It still looked fresh when I arrived at my destination. Both pieces mixed well with any other shirts, skirts or pants I took along. Packed down to almost nothing. Extremely worth the investment! Thank you!

This jacket is perhaps the nicest one I've found for travel. Extremely lightweight, but hangs beautifully. The pants make a perfect outfit.

I was on a 12-day bus tour of The British Isles & Ireland in May 2011. I wore this jacket just about everyday. It was perfect for the cool mornings, misty days, and even repelled the rain. I just wiped the rain right off & stayed dry inside. I washed it in the bathroom sink & it dried completely overnight. I love the pockets for my hands while the other pockets held my camera, tissues & lipbalm. I also got the matching black pants which made a perfect outfit.

I rarely order clothes so was pleased at how quickly the order arrived. I wore the jacket and slacks on a total of six flights getting to and from a destination in Spain. I was surprised at how lightweight the fabric was in the jacket and pants. It certainly was comfortable, didn't show wrinkles badly and shed dirt easily. It also washed and dried quickly. I wish the fabric had been a little heavier as sometimes it gets chilly during long flights. I also wish there was a LAW that all slacks had to have pockets! The tiny key pocket in the slacks was not useful for my needs.

The quality of Magellan's clothing is far superior to any other online clothing company. This jacket is lightweight and hangs beautifully! It washed with no wrinkles and dried overnite. It does run a size larger, so order a size down and if it does not fit all you need to do is call Magallens and they will exchange without charging additional shipping.

Fits well, is wrinkle resistant, light-weight and can be used for dressing up or down. It will go to Europe with me as one of the most basic items of my wardrobe.

This coat is superior to any other travel online clothing company that I could find. Is light weight but holds its shape and looks like you've paid big bucks for it. Great for travel on plane or to wear anywhere. Pants that go with it make a great set!

I was looking locally for a light weight travel pants suit and could not find anything except jogging suits. I ordered both the jacket and matching slacks and loved the suit once I tried it on. Feels like you aren't wearing anything, great for warm climates. I like this first suit so much, I ordered it in two additional colors as well as one set with the capri pants and vest. Slacks/pants are cut full enough to order one size down.

The fabric is beautiful, easy care, wears and drapes nicely even on a chunky monkey like me. Love it! Would buy the same in other colors.

I like the jacket , especially all the pockets. It is lighter than I was expecting, but I thought I could layer underneath and make it work. The size was good. I ordered the pants to match and returned them because they were to thin for early Spring in Germany.

This is a very comfortable and substantial jacket. Nice for cool weather. I got the skirt as well and kept both.

This jacket fits nice, looks good, can be worn with my jeans or the pants I ordered with it. It looks good for travel and can be worn to almost any occasion unless very dressy.

Nice styling, wrinkle free (even after scrunching into my purse!). Casual but have worn it for "casual Friday" work as well. I will get a lot of use from this.

This is a nice jacket, but I don't like the fact that the cuff does not button, therefore you can't roll the sleeve back if the weather warms.

I can't believe how great this outfit is. I bought it first in the blue. I wore it on the overseas plane trip and the connecting flight to Barcelona. Then to dinner that night because it was a little cool out. I didn't know that this outfit would be my "go to" during the whole trip to Italy and France. Then I went to work in The Netherlands. My husband loved how I looked in it. Needless to say I came back and ordered it in black. These too outfits will be my "go to" on all future trips.

I ordered both the travel-with-ease jacket and matching pants. I love the jacket; less so re the pants. The material is very, very lightweight polyester-like, and when I first opened it, I was a little concerned, but the jacket really is cut very nice and looks great. The pants, however, have more of a jogging suit look - a raised seam outside and the hidden pocket is sooo small you would never put anything in it. The pants run very large so I returned them for a size smaller.

The Jacket is not heavy and easy to pack. It doen't take much room in your suitcase. The material doen't wrinkle.

I keep it in my car as an extra cover and have had to use it recently. It looks great, XL fits well, and the pockets are a great asset for my job.

I now have this jacket in all three colors. Very versatile with tees, pants and capris.

I love this outfit -- I bought the jacket and pants in black. It doesn't wrinkle and looks and feels great! It washes well. I barely have to touch it with an iron. I ended up ordering the tan and blue sets as well. I've received a number of compliments on the outfits. Magellan carries quality products and I've never been disappointed.
