Better than good-quality cotton undershirts, but...

I work outdoors and was looking for a better shirt to replace the standard, better-quality undershirts I've been wearing. These shirts DO dry much faster, and thus provide the wicking that helps cool me off, BUT they tend to make me sweat at a lower temp than the standard shirts- not profusely, but noticeable to me.
The quality is good, though the printed-on neck tag dissolved after 10 or so washes. The v-neck is a perfect depth, IMHO. At approximately 4-5 inches lower than a crew-neck, it's low enough to not show when the top button of my dress shirt is open, but not so deep that the shirt moves around at the neck/shoulder area. The hidden pocket is neat, but I wish it was an option as I don't use it. And the little, black mesh bag that each shirt comes in? I can probably find a use for one or two of them, but 5? Again, I'd rather see a a buck or two knocked off the price, OR that the shirts were produced in the USA...
All said, I started with 2 of these, and liked them enough to buy 3 more, though they are a bit pricey- even with the multiple-unit discount.

Just in Time

I ordered the shirts for travel but when they arrived I broke out one to use at the beach in the 90 degree L.A. heat. It is great, i.e., cool, reduces sweat (riding bikes at the beach), and then I hand-washed the shirt in the sink as an experiment and it was ready to go the next day after hanging to dry overnight. Lightweight, compact....they will remove a lot of bulk from the packing.

Would not travel without all six of these shirts. Compact for efficient packing, Quick drying, Comfortable. My husband is happy to use them when we travel in lieu of his space grabbing, long to dry cotton t-shirts.

Smells Like Cat Pee

The description of these V-neck T-shirts says they are "odor-resistant." My experience is that they are "odor-causing." After a few hours of wear, the underarm area of the shirt smells like cat pee. I have never had this experience with any other shirt, including the Jockey cotton T-shirts I normally wear. This seems to be a combination of the Magellan shirt and the natural me, but I just can't wear these because they smell so badly. Happy to return my two shirts.

Resembled a crew neck.

My husband found these comfortable but did not like the neck. It resembled a crew neck with a small V. He doesn't like for his underwear to show under a shirt.
