Magellan's Aluminum Wallet

Looks good on the outside. The seven card pockets easily hold seven credit cards, probably also fourteen.
The only drawback is the latch. It is very stiff at first. It feels secure when closed but even after several weeks, I don't have confidence it will open. Sometimes it opens easily, other times it takes some work. There may be a trick, but I haven't found it.

My daughter and I have each owned one of these for a few years now, and we love them. They hold about 8-10 cards, which is enough for us. My daughter dropped and broke hers, and we liked them enough to replace it with an identical one.

I had to send it back. It was next to impossible to open.

You can't carry cash in it.- not wide enough.

I ordered this for a trip, and started using it as soon as it came. Presumably, the wallet does what is advertised -- prevent RFID theft, but (1) it is available for half the price in a variety catalog and (2) I have great difficulty opening it.

As advertised this item has a limited capacity in terms of cards and cash it will hold. If you are looking for something to hold every membership card, credit card and every other piece of paper you might want to access some day, this is not likely to work. It holds the items I need to have day to day in an easy to locate package. Unlike some other reviewers, I have not had any issues with the latch mechanism.

I was skeptical at first about this wallet but after one week I love it! Easy to find in my purse and very convenient at the checkout. No more searching for the correct credit card among all my cards. I highly recommend this product.

As a product designer I may be more critical than others. I love the look and idea of the Aluminum Wallet. Unfortunately, it was not what I had perceived from the photo. The light weight and the interior material gave it a feeling of cheapness. In general, I am impressed with the entire Magellan product line. Overall, it is a comprehensive selection of needed travel products ... of good design and good quality. Thanks.

Colorful case that is not as practical as I had hoped. I was hoping to slip inside all of my credit/ID cards, a little cash and dispense with my bulky wallet. To my disappointment, cash does not stay well in the slots (bills or coins just pop up), several of my ID cards do not fit (the case is just a touch too small) and the case will only close if you limit it to 8 cards. I bought 2 of them and now wonder what to do with them.

Nice but found it difficult to open

If you think this unit can double for a wallet, you are mistaken. This just ends up being something extra to carry around. My wife is even undecided about its usefulness.

The clasps on the two we ordered were of poor quality and popped open from six inches when dropped to a table top. The contents of the wallet shot into the air. I imagine that this would not be a good experience in a market or security check point.

At first we were quite disappointed; due to the fact we could not even open the wallet. It took time, but we finally got it open. Note, the instructions were not very clear. We believe the product could be much better. Thanks!

I have had this for over a year and love it. It is easy to find and slide out of my purse. I have had a problem with my insurance cards/driver's license blocking the plastic catch and preventing the case from latching. I always had to be very careful to not have any card sticking up to block the latch. I forgot to do so and just broke the plastic latch. This may not be a problem if you only put one card in each slot. I work for a non profit and usually carry more than ten plastic cards when counting my personal cards, tax exempt, store coupons, business perks cards, etc.. I will replace the case and will probably buy two- one for insurance, ID's, things I carry all the time and another for store credit cards.

I like the protection from radio frequency id theft, but the wallet spills ALL of the contents if you drop it or if it falls out of your purse. It needs a better latch. Otherwise, I like the protection from id theft.

Surface is so smooth, it is difficult for me to grasp. If tipped, all the card fall out. Like it a lot and will put majority of cards in it and bury in purse, but too ackward to use for frequently used cards. Wish it had a had a strap or key chain to hold onto it with.

Attractive case in great vibrant colours - easy to find in my purse. I gave one away as a gift and she loved it. Good for credit cards but not for holding money as indicated. I will purchase more as gifts.

This is a great wallet, and I love the purple color. But it is small and does not hold very many cards.

This is a great wallet for travel. I am now using it for every day as well. Wish it held a few more cards before it pops open. Maybe the next one could hold 15 cards instead of 10.

SOUNDED LIKE A GOOD IDEA, HOWEVER THE CASE IS VERY HARD TO OPEN. THE SECOND TIME I TRIED TO OPEN, IT SLIPPED OUT OF MY HANDS AND LANDED HARD ON THE FLOOR AND THE OUTER COVER POPPED OFF. SAD TO SAY, I HAVEN'T HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO TRY IT OUT

I was hesitant to buy these because some people said they were difficult to open. There is a little paper inside to show you how to do it. It is very easy once you see how to press the button. They are terrific. Beautiful colors. Just the right size. Easy to see and find in my purse. I am going to buy 2 more for the rest of my family. I just use it for credit cards. If you need something for paper money and coins, buy another one and cut out the divider. One of these is not enough for both money and credit cards.

Carries all my cards in a nice, compact wallet...very happy with purchase until I found identical wallet was being sold by CVS Drugstores and Bath, Body & Beyond for $10!

My husband and I love these aluminum wallets. We both use one and we have also bought them as gifts for friends and family. They are not only good to prevent identify theft, but also great for organizing credit cards. Because of the colour, I never have difficulty finding my cards in my purse either. The one major drawback is that the accordian style slots for the cards are not durable. In no time, the sides let go. I have tried using various glues, but my attempts haven't worked. In my latest attempt, I taped the sides with Scotch brand reinforced strength shipping tape and for now at least, the tape is holding. I hope that the company will work to improve the interior of this wallet! Considering the drawbacks of the current design, it is overpriced.

My wonderful wife has a bad habit of destroying/losing credit cards inadvertently. This wonderful product (deserving a 5 star rating) prevents that from happening. It is a win-win situation for all concerned!

Nice looking wallet but difficult to open.

This wallet is lightweight, holds plenty of cards, the inserts inside make each one visible when opened for easy access. Bright colors -easy to locate inside purse.

I have just received the card holder and my first attempt to open it resulted in two badly broken thumb nails.I attempted to open it with my thumb tips but my finger slipped off the latch and tore my nails. In order to open this little gizzmo one must hold it with the knuckle of the thumb over the latch and then press and presto it opens, even at that it is still tricky to open. Wish I had known that to start with! I have only given it 3 stars at this point as I have not yet used it as a card holder.

I really love these little card holders. They are light, and compact. The problem is that they are very difficult to open. I bought 4 of them, and out of all of them one is very easy to open. Don't over load them as they will not close, and then not open. If you have arthritis in your hands, then these will be difficult to handle and open. I didn't put the full 10 cards in each one as I found it didn't close properly. Make sure that all cards are tucked under the lock when you close it, other than the lock it works well.

I purchased these wallets, they look great, but when you open them, you have to sort thru to find the right card. I found no pocket for change. What are you suppose to do with silver change? it falls out. I like the idea and the stay dry factor, but no place for coins.

Ideal for holding my credit cards, unfortunately it did tend to slip out of my hands on occasions.

These wallets are both pretty and practical. I bought 2 for myself in the green and purple and then after I received them, I ordered more to give as gifts. They are perfect for holding your driver's license, credit cards and insurance cards. I absolutely love them !

This product is a very convenient size & shape. With all the various things that must be carried around when traveling it's great to be able to tuck drivers license & credit cards into this secure case & then fit it into a zippered pocket in a handbag & be done with it. I don't know how vulnerable my cards are to being hacked, but it's comforting to know that they are probably safe. The size of the case, however, is the big plus.

I love the wallet with the exception of the opener. It doesn't work. I have to put a fingernail into the crack between the halves and force it. On the other hand, it is just the right size, holds quite a few cards and easily slips into a slot in my purse that probably is designed for a cell phone.

I like the wallet very much and intend to order another as really you need one for money and one for credit cards. I wish more of your travel wallets that hold passports had the built in protection.

I do like the aluminum wallet. It has a nice low profile and is comfortable to carry. The only problem I have with this is the latch is made of plastic and does not hold closed if dropped.

I purchased just before my last trip and it was perfect for me. Necessary card and drivers liscense are all together and easy to get to and the security is an added benefit.

Great product for protecting credit cards. Very handy to slip into purse. A little difficult to open, but okay once you get the knack of it. I carry it with me everywhere.

These wallets work perfectly (bought all 4 colors) and the only drawback is that there aren't even more colors available. I primarily purchased them to get rid of that bulky leather lump in my back pocket and the resultant back pain it caused. I do like the added benefit of RFID blocking as the newer cards are almost all employing this technology. I'm using the color to determine what cards I have in each wallet (daily use, travel, shopping, and misc.) and it works out great though the purple is s little bit over fhe top for me.

Love, love, *love* this wallet. I was looking for something small enough to carry in my pants pocket but easy to find in my purse. This little wallet does the trick. Cool looking, easy to find, cards don't slip out and easy to carry in a pocket when I don't want to carry my purse. Now my husband wants one to drop in his briefcase to hold his club cards and hotel room key card.

It's elegant and small enough but fits all my credit cards.

I am using my beautiful green aluminum wallet daily. It pops open when I press the little button and the cards fan out like an open book. I can use my I.D., bank card, credit card, drivers license, insurance cards, credit card, folding money, etc. as easily as taking a bookmark out of a book. When It snaps closed like a compact onlookers are amazed and want to know where I got it. I love it.

This is a nice slim line wallet. Easy to get into and get the card you want. Love it. Bought the silver & purple for my daughter and myself great colors.

When I first saw this I was very skeptical but now that I have had it for about two weeks it's Great. No big bulge in my pocket, my cards are protected from scanners and I have been asked many times "where did you get that", I of course tell them Magellan's.

Although a bit pricey, the wallet is just as described. It is a bit hard to open at times, but I guess with usage it will ease up a bit. Extremely functional and love the way it keeps my cards organized. Very slim and would not be too bad to hold on to as a mini clutch as long as you're not carrying around loose change! Over all still love it!!

Perfect size. Fits in pocket or purse easily. closes securely. Not sure about the RIF testing. I hope that it protects the security of my cards.

Yes, but I was not happy w/ the sloppy way the cards were held in the wallet. One wrong move and all my cards were on the floor. Glad it happened at home and not in public. I will order again, because I love the size and convenience of the wallet.

I gave my son and husband each one for Xmas and as they both travel a lot it is a good feeling that that their cards are secure. I liked it so much ordered one for me as well and find that the most important cards I carry are safe and secure. A very good item.

Ordered 2 of these "wallets" and I'm very pleased. They are perfect for holding credit cards, license and a couple of bills. Took me a few tries to figure out how to open it correctly but now it is easy. It has popped open in my purse a couple of times and that is a concern but overall I like it very much. I also like knowing that my cards are protected from electronic theft while in this wallet.

This wallet is attractive and a great size. It holds 10-12 cards. I use it for secondary credit cards, gift cards, and other magnetic-coded items that I don't need to carry in my regular wallet (which is a Magellan's leather RFID wallet). The sleeves that hold the cards are handy and allow the cards to fan out when the wallet is snapped open, making it easy to spot the card you are seeking. Also got one for my teen daughter and she loves it!

Size, color and capacity - nice. One problem - I dropped it at a store, the wallet popped open and the contents flew out everywhere. I see similar wallets (perhaps lower quality) offered on TV for much less.

I really think these are a great, safe way to protect credit cards, but I'm finding mine really hard to open. Once as I was struggling to open it, it suddenly popped open spilling the entire contents on floor of the store where I was shopping. It does fit very nicely into my purse though. I like that aspect.

I purchased three of the aluminum wallets for Christmas. We like them because we can keep our credit cards and other cards with magnetic strips separated from our wallets. They are a good size to just slip into your pocket book/bag, and solid enough that they protect the cards inside. Colors are true to the catalog pictures. Easy to open and very light weight. Great buy.

I bought these for my son and husband who travel a lot on planes. They were delighted with the wallets as the security of knowing that their info would not be stolen is a great thing. I have bought many products from Magellan's and have never had one bad thing. You do the traveling world a lot of good.

Magellan's Aluminum Wallet is easy & convenient to use & caused no problem going through security. It's great to have so many cards in view when you open the case. It's such an improvement over the card compartment in my regular wallet; I think I'll just stick with it even tho our trip is over.

This is great for travel, when you are only carrying a few cards. Then, you can even slip cash in a few of the sleeves. Once you realize it may throw everything out if opening too quickly, using it is a breeze. It fits into the front pocket of men's pants or trousers well or, of course, into a purse, and is light in weight.

It's okay if you don't have alot of cards to put in it. It won't close if you try to double up cards in the same sleeves. The card sleeves are a little too shallow and flimsy so the cards fall out alot. Also, it won't close if the cards are a little crooked. Some of my cards won't fit in it so it could be just a smidgen deeper. It seems like a good idea but I spend alot of time messing when trying to get a card out so that all the other cards don't fall out. I wouldn't buy another one.

I've learned to only open it one way - and it usually opens on first try. It holds all the cards I use frequently. I like that it fans open and I can see all the cards at a glance. And I love the purple/magenta color.

I like my case very much, it's well made and appears to have some durability, although I have yet to drop it and give it a test....... I feel somewhat restricted because I can't fit all my cards in it.....if you're just one card over the limit it won't close and I would appreciate 2-3 extra slots. Oh well, I'll just have to leave my credit cards at home!

This credit card holder is great. It's the perfect size for holding all my cards with electronic data strips. I got the bright pink color which is easy to find in my purse. I like knowing no one can scan my cards for information because they are protected in my new case.

Very lightweight-nice color selection. This is not something you can cram extras into, won't snap closed. It doesn't take up room in a purse. The only negative I have is that it isn't easy to open. Of course that means that no one can open it while it's in your purse w/out you knowing.

I bought this to use on an up comming cruise. It is the perfect size to fit credit cards and some cash but still slip into a pocket or purse without taking up a lot of space.

This wallet is very nice, but it is way too, too small. I could not use it as a wallet, so I put my automobile registration and proof of insurance in it and placed it in my glove box of my car. Since it is so small it fits into my glove box nicely.

The Magellan's aluminum wallet is quite effective at protecting my credit cards. Before, in my wallet, they would get cracked. The only draw-backs I have are it is just something else to carry (certainly not the wallet's fault) and it is difficult to open sometimes. I would recomment it.

If you are getting this for RFID blocking or for ease of fit into a pocket, it works great. But it WILL NOT hold 15 credit cards. 1 credit card per slot (of the 7 available) or two paper ID cards (per slot) will work otherwise it will not close.

I liked the idea of a secure place for the magnetic credit and ID cards, especially when traveling. The aluminum wallet is a hard, sleek case which holds 10 cards easily. There are little sleeves on the inside which separate the cards so when the case is opened it is easy to spot the one you need. Fits easily in a purse or jacket. Great for a grab & go if your running to the store & want to leave the purse home.

Once I got used to the idea that this is for cards only, not big enough to carry cash also, I found I love it. Got the green one and the bright color is easy to find in my purse. Keeps transit cards and credit/debit cards from demagnetizing when next to cell phone or magnetic purse snaps.

I love this wallet! It is compact enough for my smaller bags but holds the essentials without getting bulky. It is more secure than a regular wallet, easy to find in my purse and compact enought to slip in a jacket pocket and go. A great product!!!!!

A nice replacement for my fat wallet which always made me sitting on a bulge. It takes all I had in the wallet, but is slim and slips into my front pocket.

I was surprised. The inside folder of this wallet appeared to be made of cheap plastic and tore easily. I discarded the plastic insert. I then placed a few credit cards into this wallet. This enabled me to have fewer cards in my regular wallet, and it was "thinner." I carry this aluminum wallet in my purses, as I change purses for any reason. I like the aluminum wallet for its safety reasons as well as quick and concise card reference.

The Aluminum Wallet is a great place to store credit cards, driver's license, even easy to reach dollar bills. The hard sides protect my cards, and when I open it, the cards are easy to identify. I chose the magenta one and love it.

I loved the idea, but it's not big enough to hold bills folded in half. I tend to carry a dozen or more bills usually.

Maybe its just mine, but the wallet can only be opened by wedging my fingernail between the two halves and seperating them. The plastic assembly that looks like the latching mechanism only works one way; it keeps it shut, but won't open it. Once inside, the pockets are spacious and the wallet is very functional.

This hard case aluminum wallet is the perfect size for holding all my credit cards and folding money. It's lightweight and fits nicely in my purse. It's easy to find in my purse and keeps all my cards in one place. I don't have to worry about the magnetic strips on my cards becoming scratched and worn. It's also nice to know that no one else can scan or read my card information to help protect me against identy theft. I highly recommend this item!

This wallet is for personal daily use, as well as for travel. Those new chips can be "read" while you are walking in the Mall in your own home town. Now my driver's license, debit card and credit card are all in this handy holder and I feel safer. With technology changing so much, this would be an excellent idea for a stocking stuffer! Or any gift throughout the year. The coloured ones are nice for older people like me, so I can find it easier in my purse.
