Magellan's Adventure & Travel Smart Design Shirt

This shirt is wonderfully versatile and well-made. When it came on sale, I ordered one in every color for my husband and several for other family members.

Magellan shipped my shirts promptly and the online ordering experience was simple. The shirts are well designed and comfortable. They work great and I could likely travel without my vest.

Great shirt, did find that sizes run slightly smaller than usual.

I ordered two shirts for my husband who always wants two chest pockets. When they arrived, I thought about sending one back because the colors were very dark and similar. He asked that I just get two more in the lighter colors because he liked the style and fit. He says these could be his last travel shirts. They might have gotten 5 stars but he hasn't worn them yet!

I haven't taken it on the road as yet, but it seems nice. I like the light weight. And I'm a sucker for hidden pockets, and for zippers. Ever since a band of young gypsy women accosted me in Florence, Italy and got away with lots of money, I've been looking for all the security and theft-prevention I can find.

The features worked really well: pockets are plentiful and deep, able to fit sunglasses, notebooks and pens et al with ease. My only hesitation is that with the new (but not old) airport screeners, the zippers in the pockets set off the alarms. So less functional in the past. I will continue to wear, probably add another shirt to get a different color.

I'm very pleased with the shirts I bought for travel to Turkey. They will be easy to launder in my hotel room and dry overnight with a minimum of wrinkles.

The shirt fit and wore very well. I liked the styling. The only drawback to me was the "Do Not Dry Clean" tag. I send my laundry out and I worry the black will fade quickly. I prefer shirts I can have dry cleaned.

The shirt is perfect in fit and style. The material is sturdy yet "soft" to the feel. My husband is taking this shirt, and another he purchased from Magellan's, on a Safari this year.

I now own five of these really terrific shirts. The pack light, have multiple handy pockets, can be washed in the hotel sink, and dry in just a few hours. I especially love the two oversized, hidden zipper pockets.

It was a gift to my guy, who normally wears a Large, but this Large size was way too big and the replacement Medium was still blousey, but fit much better. It washes and dries well. And the vents look like they will help keep him cool when we go to the tropics in February. The selling points were the great pockets and the slate blue color.

Not worn this for real, yet, and still wincing from International Shipping and Customs Duty at this (English) end, but very impressed. I tend to travel in cargo trousers, usually Rohan, and I start the trip with everything (passport, tickets, itinerary) in the left pocket, and move them over to the right as they are used/checked. I also travel in a pocketed waistcoat/vest full of essentials: harmonica for soothing peoples' squally kids; Dr Who Sonic Screwdriver ditto; earplugs; spare specs; compact camera; notebook & pen . . . This shirt offers a whole new and stylish set of places to stash and redistribute stuff; easier to access when sitting; another layer of temperature and moisture control; and I've never ever worn black before!.

My husband had always been looking for a shirt like this; he's a "can't have too many pockets-kind of a guy". The same goes for pants. He'll wear it going to Europe soon. Keep up your excellent quality! EB

... a very nice shirt in terms of the design and material. But it's interesting that a reviewer here suggested that there be Velcro fasteners on the pockets. Magellan took that suggestion to heart, and the shirt I ordered two months ago has just those Velcro fasteners. The problem is, they were (are?) glued on, and the glue doesn't work. The Velcro separated from the shirt material at the first washing. Otherwise, this would be a five-star product.

From the photo in the catalog, and from the description, I was led to believe that a boarding pass would fit in the pocket behind the passport pocket. However, the pocket is no longer than the passport pocket. Most boarding passes are quite a bit longer, especially the ones we print out online. Otherwise the shirt is of very high quality, and will still become my first choice for travel.

... but it needs a small improvement: The shirt flaps need a Velcro patch to keep them down; they flap upward in even a small wind. Otherwise, this shirt will be a great help coordinating tickets, passport, other id, luggage receipts, phone, in one easy to reach secure place. Very handsome shirt; doesn't look like "safari tourist" wear, at least in black.

Pockets are great, and it is a well designed shirt, however, the stitching/thread is poor quality and puckers. After the 1st washing the stitching looked even worse. I wanted to return it, but hubby wants to keep it. Very generous sleeve length.
