Luggage Scale

When we got the luggage scale, what should have been a hook, was a piece of metal with a 45 degree angle. The luggage handle would not "hang on." My husband had to bend it with considerable force to make it look like a hook. Our daughter purchased the same item and it did have a bend in it. Ours works now but it did not without our altering it. We hope that it still is correct.

After my friend used my scale to travel to Europe, he wanted to have his own. since he could not find the scale in his neiborhood stores, I helped him to place an order on line.

I bought this as a gift for a fellow traveler because I've used one for several years and love it. It packs in suitcase to use in double checking weight before getting to a foreign airport.

Very good idea...I really enjoy my scale,,I don't have to weigh myself on the scale, then take my luggage in hand, and weight myself with my luggage . Cuts down the hassel before I travel..Great Product

My wife has purchased TWO of these "scales" AND BOTH broke on ititial use--glad we didn't bother to pack them on our African safari! Cheap manufacturing and quality. Get a decent one, or just hold your suitcase on your bathroom scale! USELESS!!

We bought the suitcase scale because our attempts to put our bags on our home scale were off by 5 pounds or more. This seems to do the trick nicely and it was not very expensive. It is also a boon for those who are planning to shop while on vacation, and overloading suitcases could be a problem. It is very portable!

This has been an invaluable travel item. It has proven its accuracy and I never worry about what our bags weighs.

Used the scale approx 6 times on luggage that weighed under 40 pounds and was not able to use the scale again. After a vacation trip, were gift items were added to our lugguage, we weighed our luggage using this item and everything seemed fine... we were still under the 50 pound limit. When confronted at check-in for overweight luggage... I pulled our handy dandy scale to recheck the weight when we discovered the red hand (actual weight of luggage) indicator started to move to the left of "0" as a starting point. This ment the true weight of our luggage was actually more than indicated by the black hand. Needless to say the luggage scale ended up in the airlines trash can. Short story.... If you don't want to throw your money away, don't purchase this product.

The scale saved us from guessing the weight of our luggage - one less headache on our trip. Other passengers told us they had to repack bags at the check-in counter. What a pain that would have been!

This hand held scale is a necessary item for today's traveler. This scale is light enough to carry with you and yet sturdy enough to get the job done.

It help me out a lot. I got it and it helps. I am going with a group and I am going to let the group to use it so none of them go over the limet.

i like that i can carry it anywhere even when I am shopping for luggage so i can make my decision based on a luggage's empty weight. it is very practical.

This proved to be very accurate and easy to use. Have already recommended to a couple friends. It packed compactly also for the return trip with all the extra's I had purchased.

We weighed our bag on the way to the airport for our outgoing flight and it came in at 40 pounds. We took the scale with us and weighed our bag for the return flight and we were up to 54 pounds. Who new a few small souvenirs would weight that much. It already paid for itself by saving us the overweight charge. Very easy to use.

Part of our trip required our luggage weigh no more than 25lbs. Good product, good price.

This really came in handy not only travelling to our destination but especially when returning home with many more items than we took with us. We compared what this scale told us our luggage weighed with what it weighed on the airport scales.....almost bang on. Plus it doesn't take up much room in a suitcase.

The indicator needle broke during our first trip. We're not sure how, but it was useless for the return journey. It doesn't seem very durable. Magellan's tried to upsell us to a digital scale (I don't want to deal with batteries), then sent a free replacement quickly. We'll see how it holds up.

My daughter took me to Belgium and we couldn't have managed without this luggage scale. In fact, she ended up with it at the end of the journey. I have to order another one!

Fantastic, practical, and very functional. Took with me to International Terminal at LAX when wife was going to Philippines and showed it to Airline Ticket Representative. He didn't even look at Airline scale as, I guess, didn't want to debate the luggage weights.

We purchased this scale for use on our upcoming trip to Israel. My husband has weighed many items and it seems accurate. We're happy with it and hope it will prevent an expensive packing error!

For the price, this is a lightweight and reasonably accurate scale (if you lift slowly). The hook for lifting luggage sometimes slips off but it's not a problem if you are careful. The knob to reset fell off mine after a few months. I could push it on to reset still. Last year it started showing too much compared to airport scales, now it resets to 5 lb. too light. For the money, OK if you don't mind replacing it every few years. I'm replacing with one more expensive but (I hope) durable.

I purchased the scale before a trip to Turkey and Greece because of a warning that flights within Turkey had a 33 lb limit. We ended up using it to weight all luggage for 25 travelers. This device is quite large compared to what I expected, but it seems like it's very good quality. I like the function of the extra dial to mark the weight!

This scale is a must for anyone who travels by air. With all the fees that you may incure if luggage is too heavy, this scale is a great investment of $10. We take it with us, it's light and takes very little space.

Perfect for airline travel in multiple countries

I always take mine on a trip and pass it around for my group of friends, to make sure no one is over weight. It is quick and fast and better than the digital.

Unless you want to weigh your luggage to the ounce, this inexpensive scale is great. We had never owned a luggage scale before but decided we'd better take one to weigh our luggage before we left for Europe. Glad we did - our luggage weight gave us pounds to spare. When we got to the airport to have our luggage weighed there, we found out that the scale was right on. You can't beat the price, either.

This takes the guess work out of the weight of my suitcase. Standing on the bathroom scale, holding my suitcase, is way too difficult.

Easy to read and vital to saving money on my travel.

I bought this for a two week trip to Israel. I'm glad I had it while packing. I was able to see how much my bag I was checking was going to weight and distribute any extra weight into my carry on. It was nice to know how much my bags weighed *before* getting to the airport.

Its simple and easy to use

Easy to use and read. Weighed items approximately 1 1/2 to 2 lbs. less of actual scale weight. Came in very handy as we had six flights and a train and all had different requirements on checked and carry on luggage.

Oh, I love this scale, love it, love it, love it. Why did live and travel without it? I'd give it 10 kisses if that was on the ratings!

Each time we travel we leave home with the correct weight for our baggage, but as we add purchases there is always a question as to if we will be overweight. So we purchased a second scale small enough to take with us and look forward to using it.

It is a bit awkward to use, especially if the suitcase weighs more than 20 lbs. packed.

This scale has saved me from overlimit fees or having to redistribute contents at the airport and paid for itself the first trip. I find it to be as accurate as the airline scale. No problems using it or packing it. Very easy to use.

As now all AirLines are very strict on weight for your luggage, we bought this scale and it helps us a lot so we used this scale quite often before taking any air trip.

Disappointed in this luggage scale as it is not very accurate. It was at least 2# off from the airline weight scale. Not a big deal but still it would be nice if it were accurate. Now I have to add at least 2# when I weigh my luggage and am still not sure if I will be within weight. Always a doubt.

This is a great way to check luggage weight. It works much better than trying to weigh luggage on a bathroom scale.

We just got back from a cruise out of San Juan and used the scale both ways on the trip. It was so nice to check our luggage and not have to worry about how much they weighed. I bought this when I was going on a cruise. When I was returning it saved me over $50. on overage baggage. I managed to readjust my luggage so as not to be overweight. I then bought several as stocking stuffers for family and friends. I know they will be equally as happy as I.

Was impressed by small yet adequate size, but when used it gives different results everytime. I used gym weights to test accuracy but it sometimes gives correct weight, and other times it will give lower scale reading. When used with luggage it gives ball park figure within 5-7 lbs.

I LOVE this scale--it's already saved us hundreds in overweight charges just by telling us to switch items from one bag to another! I've given several as gifts and they're very well received.

Easy to use, handy to have. Place the hook on your luggage handle and pick it up using the scale. The red line stays on the amount your luggage weighs. I found it to be very accurate. Even packed it with me to prevent any return home suprises. No thank you, I do NOT want to pay extra for my over-the-limit luggage. I purchased these for my friends for Christmas!

I bought two of these--having had one stolen by an adult child! One is for me, the other for another adult child who is threatening to steal any I might buy! They are the greatest, especially when size and weight is so important at the airports.

My husband and I recently relocated to Europe. This scale accurately weighed our bags heading out (saving us hundreds in overweight charges as we shifted items from bag to bag) and I expect it will save us even more on short haul trips within Europe over the next few years. A great product!

I expected a little lee-way in weight , but was surprised to read in the instructions "plus or minus 2 pounds." That can make quite a bit of difference with airline restrictions getting tighter all the time. Still, this is a good product and the tape measure in both centimeters and inches is handy.

I purchased this scale several months ago. Took it on a cruise with me and saved money on my luggage as one of my bags would have been overweight had I not checked it with the scale. I liked it so much I bought a second one for a friend.

With airlines getting more restrictive with checked bags, you really need this. I have tried using my bathroom scales and its too difficult to see the weight when the bag is on the scale. This is great.

High overweight luggage fees (not to mention inaccurate airport scales) mean that this device is cheap at the price. It is easy to use, and I have even used it to weigh packages to be mailed by hooking through two bungee cords.

Scale did not work as expected. It was approx 5 lbs off when compared to regular scale and airport scale. I am returning it....

While you can weigh your baggage before you leave home for the airport, you are at a loss when packing to return home from the resort. With extra baggage fees increasing daily, this can pay for itself with its first use. You have to be able to pick up 50 pounds or so for a full suitcase. The dial records the weight so you can see it after you set down the case. I would advise to leave a few pounds leaway as we were a few pounds over at the airport, and it seemed right on by using the scale.

It's just as advertised. Simple to use. Is helping me to know how much to pack before I go over the 50 lb limit.

This scale was inaddition to the old one I had but the old one did not have the black dial to record the weight. Great invention no over weight fees for me.

I got zapped in Italy with an overweight bag to the tune of $50.00. If I had only known to redistribute the weight from my bag to my husband's, the overage never would have occurred. This item will pay for itself. Trust me.

After occasional embarassing shuffles at airport ticket counters when our bags were a bit overweight, we decided to buy a luggage scale. Outgoing you can check to be sure your baggage is within "free" limits. Before returning reweigh and include your treasured acquisitions. Easily spot excess and arrange to ship home by FedEx or other carrier cheaper than your airline's surcharges for weight limit overage. Easily could "pay for your investment."

I love this product! I travel extensively so my daughter introduced me to this handy little gadget since she knew I tended to overpack. The airlines have such strict rules about luggage weight, and in the past I'd been charged extra fees for my bags. I'd found that using a bathroom scale was clumsy and not very accurate but with this luggage scale, I am able to hook the scale to my luggage and lift it myself. Oh, I do love this luggage scale! It is built solidly, and easy to handle. The tape measure feature is wonderful. It's right there so one doesn't have to go searching. Highly recommend. Great little tool for the price. I actually bought this as a joke for one of my friends who always overpacks and is over the weight limit of 50 lbs. Four of us weighed our bags before we got to the airport, and they were exactly the same as the airport scale. It was great, and much easier rearranging your luggage before you get to the airport to avoid any extra baggage fees.

The luggage scale is a great way to make sure the airlines don't charge for over weight bags when you arrive at the airport and can't do anything about it. Before we stood on our bathroom scales and made an estimate of the weight. Now the scale is so easy to use and accurate.

Purchased this and another scale (electronic) from Magellan and find them both so useful. The electronic one I use to quickly determine how much overweight my luggage is. The manual one, with the hook and attached measuring tape, allows me to check the luggage piece dimensions in addition to indicating the weight and is very easy to take along on vacations. This way you have no surprises going or coming back from trips!

These were extremely helpful, as we had been told we could only have a certain amount of weight per suitcase on our tour of Australia and New Zealand.

I was hit (once) for overweight luggage and use this very convenient, easy to read scale to prevent it happening again. Between travels, however, I make daily use of the scale to measure supplemental rations for my horses - I just leave it hanging from my tackroom ceiling and hang it to the side when not in use - super useful and convenient!!!

We've had this scale for about two years now, and it used to be pretty accurate. We travel extensively around the world and weigh every piece of luggage before every flight-on an international flight an overweight bag could cost you hundreds of dollars. For about the last year the scale has been off about 5-7lbs, which is significant when packing right up to the limit. Knowing this we have started to pack our bags light, but will be investing in a more accurate scale next trip home.

I bought this scale about 2-3 years ago and was quite satisfied with it, until.....one fine day this past August I tried to weigh my not-very-heavy suitcase and the whole scale just flew apart into many pieces. I was expecting more than just a couple of years of use out of the scale.

I found that this scale was easy to use. I really liked that I did not have to look at the scale while I was holding the luggage. The little hand points to the weight until you zero it.

With all the limits on baggage weights and costs for overweight bags, this was a terrific investment for our most recent trip. The airline was very strict about carry-on bags (15 lbs max). This scale is light and easy to use for people who can lift their own bags. Helped us to redistribute luggage prior to going to the airport so that all our bags were below the maximum weight.

This is the most helpfull thing i have bought in a long time. completely elemenates the standing at the Delta counter moving items from one bag to the other to keep each bag under the 50 pounds. Because I have used my new Maggellan luggage scale and the weight is correct

It was very good. Easy to use. Amazingly accurate. The only problem is that the meausring tape easily unraveled at the slightest touch.

This product is great for the traveler or fisherman too. It accurately weighs up to 75 pounds and takes the guesswork out of just how close you are to that 50 pound luggage limit. We bought ours for cruising as the luggage weight leaving the ship and before boarding the airlines is important.

No more guessing about the weight of your luggage, scale is within 1 pound.

This scale is an improved model of an original scale I had. I works as advertised. The improvement is that the scale remains at the weight scaled (?) unlike the old one which went back to zero when relieved of weight. That's helpful when trying to establish the exact weight without some one else reading the scale. Of course you have to have the strength to lift the luggage with the scale. But very helpful.

I am an amature packer, and I bought the scale to make sure my donkey's load is equal on both sides. It is simple, easy to use and does not require batteries,. I used it to weigh my friend's bicycle before a race, and soon everyone was coming over to get their bike weighed too. Next time I travel, I might even use it to weigh my luggage!
