Heavy-Duty Transformers If your appliance approaches 100 watts of power (some stereos, computers, printers, monitors, etc.) OR if it will be used for long periods at a time (telephone answering devices, battery chargers, radios, etc.), you will need to bring along a heavy-duty transformer to operate it on the overseas electricity (220-250 volts). This accepts North American three-prong (grounding) plugs, and can ground your appliance in most countries (with an additional adaptor plug, if necessary). Overweight shipping costs apply. (2 3/4 x 3 1/4 x 4 1/4)
Type: Step-down (220/250V > 120V)
Rating: 100W
Accepts grounded A pattern plugs
Fits grounded C pattern socketsPlease Note: We do not recommend using voltage converters with flat irons, as the flat iron may be damaged. A better solution is to invest in a dual voltage flat iron. These can be used anywhere with the right adaptor plugs and allow you to save weight and space in your luggage.

Highly recommended
By Francis L., Rancho Cordova, CA in February, 2012 -
This charger weighs about 4 pounds and worked very well in quickly charging a laptop, camera, phone one by one. Unlike some of the compact converters that plug in directly into the wall, this one allowed me to work on my computer while charging at the same time for extended periods. The item in photograph on the farthest left looks like the product. It comes with four extra fuses in case one blows.

Works as advertised
By Justin G., Belden, MS in October, 2010 -
Worked fine as advertised for my portable fan and to charge a friend's laptop in Spain. The website said SPain was 120 and 220, but my Spanish friend said Spain is all 220. It buzzes slightly which I think is common with all types of transformers, the only negative. I did not need or use the grounding adaptor plug D or European style adapter plug recommended by Magellan's for travel in Spain as this transformer has a buyilt-in grounding plug for three plug items like computer chargers.

Voltage converter
By Lewis A., Grove City, OH in July, 2010 -
The whole family used this product in China without a hitch on cell phones, hair dryers, hair straighteners and iPods. I recommend this product to travelers. They could improve the design some, however. It operates very warm and tends to vibrate.

Solid performer...
By Jim P., Anchorage, AK in December, 2008 -
We were headed to Europe and we needed to be able to recharge our laptop but were unsure that our 50 watt converter would be adequate enough to do the job safely for electronics. This unit, at 100 watts, did the job for us. We had no issues keeping our laptop charged and ready for action!
