very disappointed
By Barbara, Chapel Hill, NC in July, 2013 -
i was so excited to see this product offered - I love to have all my stuff at my fingertips on long flights. This Feb. I had a 3 plane journey to California from the east coast, so I took the leap and ordered it. It was sooo big! but i took it anyway to test it out. It does have room for everything and wheels very nicely through the airport, but it did not fit under the seat on smaller planes. It was fine on the large planes, but if the seating is two and one, it will not fit, so what's the point? If they could just make this a little smaller.......

Overall Pleased
By Rachel, North Myrtle Beach, SC in June, 2013 -
Someone said, "there is no beauty in perfection." In my humble opinion, this case comes close. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that there is still a little room for improvement. Of course it depends on your specific travel needs as well.
I travel by plane quite frequently. But I'm a die hard using all kinds of transport options. It finally came time to admit that a second piece that would roll was not just a convenience. I have a lot of gear on the go. Camera, extra lenses, iPad, Bluetooth keyboard, mac laptop, iPod, iPhone, all the cords and extras to run and charge things; and there is still room left for pouches to carry my jewelry etc. The front pouch holds a fair amount of small stuff iPad sleeve and small pockets. The top interior neoprene pouch was a god send for extra cords and chips and little things. It made having to carry extra pouches less necessary. The big pouch organizes well and I was pleased at how easily it fit under my seat on this inaugural voyage. I didn't carry a purse. I felt so free and organized.
Ok as far a small suggestions. Another half inch of strap on the back to make it easier to get on an off my other rolling piece when stacking, would not be amiss. I will add a couple more Velcro dots or strips to the interior neoprene pouch because that little dot ain't gonna last. It opens too easily. Forget about the side pockets being used for water. It isn't happening. When you redesign it with spinner wheels, make one mesh with a drawstring. I like one side zip for my travel wallet and tickets.
One last anecdotal note: as noted above the stacking strap at the back is tight. So, in a rush I just balanced it on my other piece and headed for the down escalator. If you have read this far, you know what all I carry inside for the most part. And returning home, additionally I had a small gift box with a delicate porcelain frog inside. As I got on the escalator my other bag became unbalanced on its transition to the step and the carry on pitched over it and rolled [moderator edit] all the way to the bottom of the stairs. Where, like a triumphant gymnast or a cat with lives to spare, it landed upright. I just laughed. What else to do? At security they totally tore my bag apart. Everything is still working and the frog got a great X-ray close up. Intact! It was like a modern Samsonite experience.
Thanks for reinforcing the adage that you get what you pay for, in a good sense. This is not a cheap bag. But it is worth the money to me and I look forward to getting many years of use out of it. And, I'll buy the next generation down the road! -
I would not buy this item again!!!!
By Nancy, Hamburg, IA in May, 2013 -
This is a pitiful product. I used it for the first time recently on an international flight. It doesn't fit well under the seat. When the item is filled, it wobbles and doesn't trail well. The outside pockets are wide enough, but not deep enough. When I put a water bottle in the end pocket, it pops out the first time it is bumped. I most likely will not use the bag a second time. If I could return it, I certainly would.

Does the person who designed this bag travel?
By Roberta, Palos Park, IL in May, 2013 -
The side pockets are not deep enough to accommodate a folding umbrella (mine popped right out) or a standard pint-size water bottle. Furthermore, this bag did NOT fit under the seat of a Boeing 777. Only 2 wheels make this bag unwieldy to steer through an airport. I don't want to use this bag again; it was $149 misspent.

THRILLED!
By Beverly, Hugo, OK in November, 2012 -
Top marks in all categories! Due to deadlines, we had this outstanding tote shipped directly to our freind, who was about to depart for Rome, where she will be working for the next two years. Altogether, our friend's package contained ten items from Magellan's; everything was in stock, was shipped together, and arrived in record time. Our friend received her surprise package three days before her flight to Rome, and she couldn't have been more delighted with everything.
She doesn't buy many things for herself, so we knew we couldn't go wrong if we gave her this incredible wheeled tote, and we were right. We learned that this tote replaced a very old, inexpensive one, which was being held together by tape. As you can imagine, our friend was delighted to have this beautiful piece of luggage, and raved about every feature, from its gorgeous turquoise color, and its many compartments, to the fact that her computer fits safely inside.
A few days ago, she sent an email from Rome. All the way there, the tote was extremely useful. The room in which she will be spending the next two years, will eventually have a file cabinet in it, but the tote is now standing in as a portable office.
Our friend is just thrilled with this versitile tote, which could have easily earned at least ten stars. Thank you, Magellan's, for your excellent service, quality products, and for putting so much thought into the design of this now-indespensible tote.
