Nearly perfect travel pants
By Jeff Wragg, SC in June, 2013

No need to continue shopping. Just buy these.

Over the years I have tried many brands and styles of travel pants. These are the best by far. The fabric is durable, wears very well, washes and dries nicely, and looks good. The design is stellar. The multiple pockets, with zippers, buttons, and velcro are the best I've ever had.

I consider myself well traveled, several lengthy trips to the middle east, and more recently, seven trips to China, most for a month, but as long as six months. I just returned from 5 weeks in China. I am a one-bag traveler. Just a single, soft, not-big, carry-on bag for all of my trips. My travel tends to be a little rough, and varies from urban, to village, and farm level.

This trip was a multi-city, with several small towns, a couple of villages, and a farm along the way in central and southern China. I wash clothes every day in the sink, and hang to dry overnight.

Convertible pants, especially with cargo pockets, are often too casual and even sloppy looking. Not so for these. Most of the time I just wore them as shorts, but for occasions calling for pants, they were also great.

Prior to this trip I considered my current stock of pants, and also ordered two other pairs from two separate, respected travel sources I have shopped with before. When I compared these Due East Convertibles to the others, it was no contest. I returned the other pants for a refund, and ordered a second pair of these Due East pants. I have one pair each of the green and the stone color.

If I were going to improve them, I'd make the fabric just a tiny bit lighter, and would have another color, probably gray. Of course the optimum weight of the fabric is related to the climate, but as they are, they are excellent for all but the very hottest weather. I cannot imagine a better design for the pockets and overall look of the pants.

waist vs inseem
By TJ L., VA in October, 2012

34 inch waist and 12 inch inseem. how many 32-34 inch waisted men are 6 foot or more tall? shorts came down below knees. Not exactly converting to shorts.

I bought these pants for my husband and he loved them!!! He had them hemmed, but other than that, they are great-they look great! Good material-non wrinkle ...really do look good.
