Currency Organizer

I bought this when Magellan's was down by the train tracks and was the place to go to find the smallest, lightest weight, best made, and least expensive travel items. They had really unique things. Glad to see this is still being carried by them. When traveling to different contries with different currencies, this pouch is great. Assign a different color in your mind to each country, and put that currency behind that color zipper. And of course, ten years ago American single dollars were the most valuable and useful (no more!), so the green zipper had US money, and the main middle compartme held at least $100 in ones. Alas, this no longer is neccessary, as a lot of countries are not that crazy about our dollar. But this little item still goes with me, even when traving to a single country. The different pockets are really handy. And it's held up beautifully all these years.

I absolutely love this product. It goes with me on every overseas trip. We always use local currency and we have "my" money, my "husband's" money, the "kitty" for shared monies, and copies of ID (passports, driver's licenses) and cards we are given by people along the way along with a credit or ATM card. This item allows me to segregate these resources. I am then able to crumple it up and put it in a pocket or I can put it in a safety pouch I wear from my neck and wear under my shirt. It is a "can't do without" item.

Since I was going to Disneyland, CA frequently I had found this to be the best accessory I have ever owned. The small pockets are for storage of keys, pills, etc. the inside pocket for extra money, credit cards, etc. the large pocket on the top is size of the whole organizer, so I carry money, frequently used credit card, ID, sunglass for my glasses, comb, candy, pen...I have even had my small camera or phone stuffed in on occasion! I attach it to my belt straddling the belt loop on my side not to the side like the picture. I usually wear levis, tank top and an overshirt, so no one sees it or detects it is there. Hands free, I can enjoy sights and travels without a purse or wallet! I even purchased another one in case it wore out...14 years and still using the original!! Bought the first one at The Container Store in Costa Mesa, CA, but really happy to see Magellan's carrying it! Worth the purchase price and convenience!!

I got my first organizer before the Euro was created. I was very happy I did because it made European travel much easier. I use one pocket for U.S. money, and the rest for other countries. I now have another. When I am at home I have them in my travel drawer and as needed put the appropriate currencies for my next trip in the 2nd one. Even with the Euro, the organizer is still useful. I always seem to need at least 2 or 3 types of currency per trip. And as one reviewer said, it is good for holding extra cash that I place in the hotel safe, while I put daily cash in a separate wallet and coin purse. Never regretted getting one.

This currency organizer would be a little more functional if the zippered pockets were a little longer and expanded at one end. I found it difficult to take currency in and out without catching the bills on the zipper. For the price, I will keep this organizer but will use it for credit cards, gift cards and a few pieces of folded currency.

This is best product I own for organizing money when traveling internationally. If you have to deal with more than two currencies, this is perfect. In fact, I generally keep all my cash in this wallet in the hotel room safe, just taking out enough cash for the day with me. I use the Taxi Wallet (second best travel accessory) for my daily cash. The wallet is large enough to hold a fairly substantial amount of currency. I generally try to avoid International transaction fees and get my currency in advance from my local bank. The wallet is more than large enough to hold a couple thousand Euros, and thousand pounds, plus several hundred to a few thousand of other European currencies, all at once, along with your dollars. Highly recommend for International traveler. I should add that I never carry the wallet physically on me. It's always hidden in my locked carry-on luggage on the plane, and locked in my hotel room safe otherwise. I imagine the belt loop works, but could get to be uncomfortable with a large amount of cash.
