Cafe Coat 2

I just received my cafe coat and I love the color! I do think customers should realize that it is a muted teal though, not a true blue color. It is so soft and lightweight. The sleeves are a little long, but I just buttoned it on the second button and don't feel I need to have it tailored. I purchased a Medium and it fits me at 5'4" size 10-12 just fine. I like the zip off hood and other pocket features. I also ordered from National Geographic and purchased their 'Indian Boteh Travel Shirt' and their blue cotton 'indonesia beaded shirt.' Both of these have the same teal colors and match this cafe coat beautifully. Thank you for the prompt delivery as well. Very pleased and will order again.

I had high hopes for easing my way through airports with this jacket. Not so much. As said in earlier reviews, the arms were proportioned for a gorilla. I altered them & had 4 inches of surplus fabric from each arm; moving the buttons would not have been enough. Also the photo shows pockets filled with lots of useful stuff. None of the pockets was wide enough to hold a slim map. The pockets are not deep, so everything stuck out. So, it didn't serve the speed-through-airport-security purpose at all. The hand warmer slit pockets on the front were too low on the jacket to be used comfortably without scrunching up the jacket--another proportionality problem. There is barely enough room for two thin layers underneath. So, when I was caught on a trip with colder weather than expected, I bought another coat. On the plus side, I liked the fabric. I still like the idea of a coat like this. I think more effort should go into the design and execution.

the coat is soft and nicely designed except for the sleeves. It's costing me $28. to shorten them about 5 inches, and I'm not short at 5'6"...

Very comfortable, fits well and looks good.

This jacket is great. I bought it for travel, but I love it for every day use. It's not all-weather but it has a hood and I'd count on it to keep me dry in at least for a short dash. It has lots of pockets which is always useful. It's light-weight and comes in handy when it's cool but not cold. While it's not a high fashion statement, it's simple, well constructed and very versatile.

In Oregon we rarely need a really heavy coat and finding one that is light enough to wear over sweaters etc so you don't suffocate in the mall can be a problem.This is the perfect werght and all the pockets are really handy. The sleeves are a little long. My only complaint is that rhe buttons look plastic and cheap. Ruins the classiness of the coat. I might change them.

Lovely soft feel. Light weight, warm - but not too warm for mild California winter days. Wonderful pockets. The walnut color is a rich neutral shade that goes with most other colors. Well made and a nice fit except for the sleeves. The sleeves are too long, but I will have it altered. The coat is worth it, but it lost a star because of the hassle of alteration.

I liked the material and the pockets, but the sleeves were way too long! To just shorten them would have made the opening too large .. so I returned the coat.

I love this coat. I did have to exchange it for a medium, as I ordered a large and it was much too roomy (I'm a size 12 and 5"8). I ordered the purple and it's very pretty, and so soft. It rolls and scrunches great without wrinkling. On a plane or road trip, it seconds as a pillow or blanket. It's lightweight, but warm enough for chilly days.

This is my second Cafe Coat and while I love the coat, the "too long sleeve" problem remains. After having the sleeves shortened, I also had the buttons moved over to make the wrist closure smaller. The size is good - medium is medium with room for a sweater underneath.

Very pretty, soft material will add an easy to pack layer for when you need it.

Love this jacket; feels so soft. Loads of pockets will come in very handy. The downside was that I had to take it to a tailor because the sleeves were about six inches too long. Taking an XL does not mean my arms grew along with the rest of me. LOL

I bought this jacket to replace a cheap, shoddy clone that I took with me to Ireland last year. I wanted something with lots of pockets plus a hood. The Magellans Cafe Coat fills the bill and then some! The fabric is so soft and light-weight, plus it's really sharp looking. Worth every penny.

The material was nice and draped well. The pockets were great. The color was not at all as pictured. It was a very dark blue; more teal blue than pictured. I wanted something less dark so I will be returning it.

This is poor quality and a real disapointment. Sounded much better in the add. Looks cheap.
