For travelers from North America (and other 120 volt areas), who wish to use their appliances in Japan, these transformers accept Japan's 100 volts input and step the voltage The 500 watt model is fused, features a non-grounded, "A" style plug with a ground wire if grounding is needed, and a grounded, North American style socket that will accept grounded plugs, non-grounded plugs, and polarized non-grounded plugs. This unit includes an ON/OFF switch (we recommend unplugging transformers when not in use).
